So.
My Patronus: A dun stallion. (I still don't know how a Patronus has a color other than silver.)
My Hogwarts House: Gryffindor. (Chalk up one more PPCer wondering why she's not in Ravenclaw.)
My Ilvermorny House: Pukwudgie. (IIRC I'm in a minority on this one, but I'm cool with it.)
My wand: Hazel wood with a dragon heartstring core, 12" and hard flexibility.

So, who wants some flags for the Barons of Plort? That's right, you do! Regardless of what you initially said. Here ya go then, gang! Any and all feedback is of course hugely appreciated, and I am taking requests. Do be warned that I won't be able to do too much specific stuff - Flag Maker Jr 1.2 is not the most complex of programs - but I'll definitely give it my best shot. =]

But is this series sucky enough to be mission material? I should note that the character learns to speak the language of carnivorous dinosaurs later. Along with skillfully wielding a bow and arrow, is that Mary-Sueish?

A shame you can do only one test.
House: Gryffindor (willing to the exchange, Ix?)
Patronus: Vole (was a preybird too much to hope for?)
Ilvermorny: Pukwudgie (Okay, but I think Horned Serpent would have fitted better. And like the Thunderbird).
Wand: Laurel wood Unicorn hair core 14 ½" in length Slightly Springy flexibility (I am a bit lazy, and... yes if you followed the thread of my answers, you know I'm thinking about phoenix feathers).

Pottermore! by

House:
RavenclawGryffindor - but... my books!
Wand: Chestnut wood, phoenix feather core. 10.75" long, hard.
Patronus: Unicorn (Pottermore, wat?)
And I'm with Ix, happily a Thunderbird in Ilvermony- although I definitely went to one of our silly hippy west-coast magical schools instead.

My turn. by

House:
GryffindorRavenclaw. No clue why; I hate school and can't wait to leave.
Wand: Yew and dragon heartstring, twelve and a half inches, surprisingly swishy.
Patronus: European hare.
Ilvermorny house is Thunderbird, which I think fits loads better. :)

From a cursory glance at it, it's the self-insert and somewhat clunky writing.

Redwood
"Wand-quality redwood is in short supply, yet constant demand, due to its reputation for bringing good fortune to its owner. As is usually the case with wandlore, the general populace have the truth back to front: redwood wands are not themselves lucky, but are strongly attracted to witches and wizards who already possess the admirable ability to fall on their feet, to make the right choice, to snatch advantage from catastrophe. The combination of such a witch or wizard with a redwood wand is always intriguing, and I generally expect to hear of exciting exploits when I send this special pairing out from my workshop."
Unicorn
"Unicorn hair generally produces the most consistent magic, and is least subject to fluctuations and blockages. Wands with unicorn cores are generally the most difficult to turn to the Dark Arts. They are the most faithful of all wands, and usually remain strongly attached to their first owner, irrespective of whether he or she was an accomplished witch or wizard. Minor disadvantages of unicorn hair are that they do not make the most powerful wands (although the wand wood may compensate) and that they are prone to melancholy if seriously mishandled, meaning that the hair may 'die' and need replacing."
I don't think a Patronus has any personality meaning...
And yer right about the House:
You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart

Not a hardcore HP fan, but here's what I got by

House: Gryffindor
Patronus: Nightjar
Wand: Redwood, 14 in, Unicorn hair core, and quite bendy
I'm not entirely sure what the wand and patronus say about me, but I do like birds, and redwood is also quite nice. Gryffindor is generally seen as the sort of bravest sort of group, IIRC? Pottermore is a very cool site, I have to say.

Pottermore by

After watching the last two Harry Potter movie last night, I feel like I want to ask if anyone here has been on Pottermore and what they ended up getting.
It'd be a good way to get to know people, I think. I'll start:
House: Ravenclaw
(For a while, I thought I was more of a Hufflepuff girl - the kind and loyal part, not so much the hard-working part - but after thinking about it, I feel like this kinda suits me better. Especially the bits about "originality, creativity and acceptance".)
Wand: Redwood, 11 1/2 in, Unicorn hair, quite bendy
Patrons: Dolphin
So, anyone want to jump in?

What I've read... by

I tried reading the original series once, but I prefer some spin-offs. I could guess at why the original wasn't to my taste, or I could try re-reading them and see if I can point to a worthwhile reason why. It could just be that a person pees farther when standing on the shoulders of giants.
I've read the constitution a while ago, I should re-read it.
I'll list my interests in another post.
I'll start keeping a list of what spin-offs I read, but there were a lot of them.

Please accept this pot of black-hole coffee. Have you read the Original Series? The Constitution? What PPC spin-offs did you read?
And please, by all means, try to list some of the things you're into. that's never too much to be listed on.
Anyways, welcome. Hope you're here to stick around for a while.

You'll be right at home here, sci-fi and fantasy (especially WoW) seems to be the PPC's bread and butter!
That sounds great! I'm looking forward to seeing you write, and as a gift, you get cookies and a Lich King themed blanket. Don't use that blanket for warmth though, somehow, it does the opposite.
Catch ya later, newbie.

Introduction by

Reply
Hello, I guess I should introduce myself.
I'm into a lot of things sci-fi and fantasy, too many to really list.
I also got back into World of Warcraft lately on a WotLK server. I had played BC-WotLK and ragequit in the early days of Cataclysm because I could never catch up to the gear requirements for raiding and people in dungeons were always trying to beat old speedrun records. On my current server, it's always the same patch forever.
I'm here because while I think I'm a decent writer, I could use some improvement. I've noticed that it's hard to get feedback if you're writing in a universe that serious reviewers have no interest in. I figure that since you concrit a lot and care about PPC stories being good, I should try my luck.
