Well, here is my antagonist, with the loosest definition of antagonist being applied here.



Yue may be a criminal, but he isn't a bad person. He would never hurt someone defenseless and is the most loyal person ever. I know he would never betray me. It broke his heart to have had to fight the Shinonome trio, we used to be so close.

He caught me off guard last time, I never thought he would get so powerful so quickly. He almost killed Azusa, I'm gonna get him for that. Yue, Xing... when did it go so wrong?

You need more hand practice, but the rest is solid.

It looks correct except that you chose a pose that doesn't give an interesting silhouette. At first glance, her mace head seems to be coming straight out of her shoulder.

Have a triple chocolate cupcake (chocolate with chocolate chips and chocolate icing) with a cherry on top!

I actually have very little for this. The expression is great, absolutely evocative of that first thing in the morning groan. I love the shading under the chin and jaw, that's perfect.

The one thing I'd definitely change is to erase the line across the end of the nose. Not the nare, that's good, but the line connecting the nare to the tip. If you colored this, you'd use light and shadow to show where that curve happens.

If other people are going to give concrit, I won't do it for them. I will just say, though, that foreshortening is a b*tch and I know I'm bad at it. ^_^

I challenged myself to do one every year. Of course, an average of less than 2000 words per story is far from NaNoWriMo levels.

As usual, the title image was provided by my daughter. Making this my birthday present has become a tradition.

So, here is The Sign of the Serpent. As always, concrit is welcome.

And has now been addressed. The Diskord and the Union both now have up-to-date pages, and their flags are properly in place.

None of Scape's flags have yet been put on the Wiki; I'm pondering where to put them. (Ditto the Plortraits.)

Fun fact #1: Eshakhar is the second baron (out of six) to be wearing actual armour; that's not a tartan dress, but a long coat of lamellar armour, as worn... pretty much anywhere east of Germany, looks like.

Fun fact #2: Eshakhar is indeed carrying both of her famous swords, which are of what some people would call Elvish design; she has one in her right hand, and the other tucked into her sash.

Fun fact #3: As seen in her stories, she has a cloak (for keeping the rain off) and a short braid (for... having a short braid, I'unno).

Fun fact #4: I neatly avoided both the 'how many stars' question and the 'updated coat of arms' one by using the non-rank-indicating arms, and hiding half the flag behind her head. Muahaha.

(So, that's six out of nine. I actually have Plans for drawing the remaining three barons, so that'll get done. As to the knights... I only know what two of them look like! We'll see.)

There is still no Plort Wiki page for the Confederation of Diskord, and thus no image of the Diskord’s flag on the Wiki (the Proceedings of the 2017 Council of Plort still link to the PPC Board discussion).

Also, the page for the Union of Plort still ignores the fifth nation and the new flag (again, the Proceedings of the 2017 Council of Plort still link to the PPC Board discussion). But since there is already a second image of the old flag, labeled "The first flag of the Union", rectifying this may be a work in progress.

Also also, the new flags and their carriers are awesome. Thank you for that, Scape and hS.

Henry's hair is so scruffy, I just want to ruffle it. ^_^

I'm actually having difficulty offering concrit here, because you've already done it all yourself! I think Castor is a pretty good stab at androgynous, but would probably peg them as female if pushed (or young teenage male, I guess). And I absolutely agree with you about curly hair.

One thing I will note is Henry's pose (he's the only one with arms, so...). There's a definite air of 'hiiiiii, there's nothing wrong here, don't, um, don't look in the kitchen' about him, both in his face and in the positioning of his arms. I don't know if you were aiming that way, but if so - it worked.

[Checks] Well, it still says PPC Board, so I assume yes... :D

I'm going to start by saying I really like the expression on Kaede's (I assume his full name is Shinonome Kaede, but 'little brother' could be an idiom I guess) face; I know it's pretty simple, but he really looks like he's intensely focussed. The whole image looks like he's doing something like telekinetically lifting a heavy object - it's hard, but he's not letting it beat him.

The eye is most definitely drawn to his face and hand, but I feel like his hands are slightly out of proportion. I think the thumbs are too short? I'm personally appalling at hands, but that doesn't mean I can't comment on them. ^_^

I'm also going to highlight your shading here; as another thing I'm trying to learn, I'm impressed in particular by the legs. Nicely done.

(Also, I don't think the prompts are 'in order' - you do those 3+1 images in each week, in whatever order you choose.)

Fun fact #1: Baron Iximaz wields the famed sword Zeb and bow Arin; the beasts Charlotte and Saibhir are nowhere to be seen.

Fun fact #2: Baron Iximaz's look is not based on the image on the Cyclopaedia page, because that looks far too much like Baron Huinesoron's outfit! So you get a different cape design.

Fun fact #3: The theory was that the smaller flag was for practical reasons, since Baron Iximaz is the baron who spends the most time at war. But it could also symbolise the status of Barony Iximaz as the smallest barony.

Fun fact #4: That hair was a nightmare! For some reason, I just couldn't get it to look like actual hair - not for ages. Hopefully it came fairly close eventually.
