I've just had this message through on the Wiki, from someone who's apparently having trouble signing up to the Board. Any chance you can take a look and try to help them?

Welcome, fans of the Protectors of the Plot Continuum and supporters of the Canon Protection Initiative! If you've got a story to plug, an opinion to share, or a discussion you want to join in, this is the place!
If you're looking for PPC stories to read, why not start with The Original Series – the missions of the famous assassins Jay and Acacia, the very first stories in PPC history. Once you've finished them, check out the list of Killed Badfic to find a mission you like the look of, or The Complete List of PPC Fiction to look up specific agents or departments.
Before you join the fun, there are some important links you should know about. Being familiar with these will save you a lot of hassle!
This list is also available as a Atom/RSS feed

I am not even sorry.
/ Ekwy, feeling smug
In response to a recent development in a game and to help me cope with a silly fear resulting from it. Contains spoilers for the game.
Back on the train of missions that still exist, this one has been influential out of all proportion to its... well, quality.
NytBloomer is recruited by Robyn and Ranger (disguised as dragons, which I think is the first non-humanoid disguise!). Her first mission is to a Bad Parody, which I believe makes this the first non-DMS mission. And of course, despite being in the Department of Multiple Offenses, NytBloomer is the first person to use the word "Floater".
But... it's not a good spinoff. It could be. A parody self-insert, who's self-aware enough to plead parody to avoid being killed by the PPC, working missions with her talking service dog - this could be golden! But it's... not. It's not well-written, and she repeatedly goes on about killing the author.
The badfic is here, if you're interested; quite amazingly, it was posted only a day before the mission. At least NytBloomer had dedication!

You'll want to scroll to your location, then pick ADD from the menu and fill in details, selecting "Use current location". Then Submit.
hS
I know there's a Submit button that you have to click, but other than that I don't really know... if you want to drop a place and colour here, I can add you in.

I have attempted to put a pin in but I don’t think I did
This link should take you to a ZeeMap, in which I've stuck pins for myself and Kaitlyn in our approximate location (+ one for New Cal). You can add your own pin by clicking "Additions > Add Marker - Simple". Be as precise or as vague as you want - I'd suggest going for somewhere in the same state, province, county etc as you, but whatever works for you. If you want to put a pin in but really don't feel comfortable sharing any location info, head down to the black pin east of Australia and put yourself in the New Cal city.
(I used the "Map Select a Location" option; be aware that this is a Google map, so will list an address for wherever you put the pin. PLEASE DO NOT enter your actual address to place the pin.)
There's also this link, which goes to a non-editable version of the map, for if you just want to see how it's coming along.
(The map should be locked so that you can only add markers, not edit or delete them; but please don't start messing with people's pins even if you discover you can. Thank you!)

You know I have no idea how long ago things actually were. Five years, fifteen years, it's pretty much the same! {; P
Buuuut if that map is fossilized, there were also the censuses. If any of those results survive, I think they have geographical data, among other stuff? And they're more recent. Relatively. I think. I know we haven't had one in a while, since the person(s) who formerly administered it have gone.

So here's what I'm rather confident happened.
You had an unterminated HTML tag in the subject line, something like <i Words
instead of <i>Words</i>
or even <i>Words
(which'll get fixed up automatically).
Since this wasn't strictly speaking an empty subject line, the Board's database let that go through
However, when the Board displays text like the subject and the body, it gets run through an HTML cleanup to make sure of things like that only specific tags can be used (to prevent nefarious nonsense). One part of this cleanup is throwing out stuff like <i Words
, since, if it was left in, it would make a big chunk of the page disappear (because people's browsers would just keep looking for more and more information about how the italics were supposed to work until they finally got to a point where they could guess "ok, there's probably a missing '>' back there).
If that cleanup process led to removing all the text in the subject, then the result of cleaning would be a blank subject, which would duly get used as the text for the link.
This has now been fixed to detect when this happens and replace the blank text with [[[bad HTML in subject]]]
so there's still something to click on.
I don't even remember where it was linked; I doubt I could find it. I wonder if there's a site that'll provide the same pin-in-map functionality today?
(We've also had at least one person from France, and one from Wales, if that counts.)

Off the top of my head, Swedish, Finnish, Polish, German, and Italian. I'm sure I'm missing some!
I want to say we had someone from Brazil at one point, but I might be thinking of an old RP buddy who wasn't actually a PPCer? Not sure.
We used to have a map of PPCer locations... Not sure if it still exists, though, and I won't try to find it using my phone. Anyone else want to have a go?
~Neshomeh, sneaking a post at work.
Thanks. I've replaced the first prompt with a different one, so Winfrey has room to breathe as a character. I've also made minor edits to the second prompt. I should have Version 3 up soon - granted I'm rather busy IRL.
There's also some Canadians, and... I want to say Australians and New Zealanders, but that might have changed since I was last active.
You seem to copy-pasted from the first post of Matt's reactions, which is okay, but I left off a couple of exclaimation marks the first time 'round:
Matt, hugging her back: Yeah! I won should be Matt, hugging her back: Yeah! I won! and David Null: Great job, Matthew should be David Null: Great job, Matthew!
But, besides that, it looks okay to me!

(Edit: Id'd wrong type of mark.)
(Edit 2: Under the copyright, you noted that I own Matthew, David, O’Ryan, and Paye, but you forgot to list Kittyauthor (which is obvious, but I would still like her listed) and Crow (they're the trainee under Kittyauthor and O'Ryan, first mentioned in "Landing Pad"), and I would like David's full name listed (but that's more of a nitpick than anything). Those are the only other things I found.)
I'm not totally sure if it's ready for archival yet - a few tributes still have interviews to fill out and I might have missed something in the copy/pasting - but I thought it'd be good to have on hand for now. Thanks for waiting!

I'm Vietnamese by the way.
Two in one day! I know, right? But... also, two lost spinoffs in one day.
We know a little more about Robyn's spinoff than kezya's, because it has to be Ranger and Robyn's story. We know that it survived long enough to be listed in TOS13 (1st of May), but it is not on any copy of Miss Cam's list of spinoffs (ca. May). So poor Robyn and Ranger probably only had a month together before being caught up in the Takedown.
Sadly, the PPC's Robyn is not the one currently on FFn: an archive of her profile confirms that she adopted that name late, suggesting our Robyn either changed her name or got kicked off (as HarpWire did).

And so it begins... this is the first PPC story which is completely lost. We have the original link, but it is long since dead, and the only information it provides is the date of publication. We don't even know what it was about - was Anna Maria an agent, or the Suvian being hunted?
The one thing we can find is this snapshot of kezya's FFn profile. It seems likely the story was an LotR spinoff - all the others were, and the idea of a Baldur's Gate spinoff that early being totally lost is grim. Also, an exciting first: keyza is Polish! I believe that makes her the first known non-American PPCer. :)

Takes place at the same time as the previous mission with guya and Urato, this time Momoka is sent on mission with an unexpected partner.
Yes? Then go retrieve it!
