The main problem with fanfiction.net is that it's a bit akin to showing up at a big pot-luck dinner where about half the people who actually brought something can't cook, and the other half couldn't agree on a single theme, so you're stuck with a good three fourths of what's technically edible being lima bean ice cream or steak with a chocolate bar melted on top. Then, just when you've finally found a good hearty stew, and a loaf of bread to take a slice of to mop it up with, it turns out that the bread is actually angel food cake, and it's sitting there soaking in meat juices and you just want to cry, but suddenly you feel heartened because you see that somebody has brought a rather tasty fish dish you want to try, and then, just as you're arriving, you find that it's actually tofu, and you're allergic to tofu, and it's around then that you can't take it anymore and just go home to order out for pizza, but you know, next time you get an invitation, you're going to go again anyway, in the hopes that maybe you can find something to eat.

I think of the "WHAT THE F*BOOOOOOOOOM!*" meme.

And America wonders why people don't like us.

Although I never got much exposure to the canon, what I did understand in this added up to a great work of parody.

Much better than what's out there.

Also, fart jokes would be scatological humour, not bathos :P (sorry, sorry, just have to defend my beloved bathos until the end :) )

And also rather brain-safe - the mental images any PPCer would come up with given those warnings (or, say, the words "monkey", "grapefruit", and "ostentacious") are quite a bit worse than the fic itself.

Anyone know where I can download some cool Tolkien-esque fonts? Eventually I want to make a banner and maybe some buttons, so that might be a good touch for them.

Actually, I liked the scene at the end. For some reason, the idea that Sir Topham Hatt is some kind of mad scientist who created all those sentient trains almost vaguely makes sense to me...

How'd he end up that deep in the planetary gravity well when he came out of hyperspace? Why was the fleet charting a course so close to a star system anyway? Why was he flying his interceptor instead of riding in one of the warships he was presumably flying with?
