Must admit, I would have used the squirrels as a the reaction to this last hatchet, though using them as an answer to the truce was a good choice.

That is not what I've done.
What I've done is a Hunger Games starring myself and Kaitlyn. And myself. And Kaitlyn. And myself. And...
So did you know there are more than 12 different self-insert versions of me and my wife on the PPC-related internet? :D
Before I link, though... I did this as a first-person commentary from inside the Arena. Thing is, I wrote it sight-unseen - I didn't know what the next section would bring until I'd finished the previous entry.
What I'm saying is, this is the darkest bit of fiction so far in this thread.

I like this first-person take on the concept. Sure, it's dark (especially with the whole "killing different versions of yourself" thing), but in a very effective way. I think that your going-in-blind approach helped build that sense of dread and nervousness.
That also gave me a bunch of ideas regarding a Hunger Games simulation of my own, so an additional thank you for that.
Watching the different narrators get killed off was more than just a little chilling. Bravo, and if you'll excuse me I'm off to cuddle my piggies.
Writing is good, no problem with that. But yeah, such style would be too dark for the event. And must admit I find the idea of mutiple avatars from the same persons killing each other really disturbing. In other words, the perfect Hunger Games.
... channel the happy-go-lucky side of my agents for the main event, promise.

Sergio detailed the whole thing down below.
As written below, I'm preparing a pseudo-official season of the PPC HQ Hunger Games folowing Huinesoron's example. As this is supposed to be the following season, I will followhis example and set it up as an Holodeck simulation.
This will feature:
- 48 tribute line-up, to allow for as many Agents as we can to fit in!
- Edited events list to add more weapons, random events and PPC crazyness!
- This time, live on... Nutmeg TV, maybe? (AKA: I'll have two characters of mine do commentary from inside the arena. One possible death cause will, indeed, be a contestant attacking them only to be mowed down by submachine gun fire)
- Every contestant can provide their own comments at the end of each day. This will be done on the Board, I'll make a full readable document with everything in it afterwards.
So, according to Huinesoron's idea, every boarder who wants to join in can provide up to four contestants (a full district). If you don't have enough Agents, though, don't worry: you can team up with another Boarder, or even have your team topped up by free-to-use characters. I fully intend to throw a Flower or two in the battle if there are empty slots to be filled.
For each contestant I'll need: full name, shorter nickname to be used in the "report", gender, and a signature weapon or power. A link to an image would be appreciated if they don't have images on the Wiki page. The signature weapon/power is just for flavor in the commentary, as not all the death events mention a specific weapon and there are chances that no weapon was mentioned for the contestant beforehand.
My contestants, for example, are these:

At this point, I think I will add to the last District Luxury (of course) and Dr. Fitzgerald.
Why the latter? Because this way he can have a better understanding on why Agents tend to injure themselves with crazy plans.

In one of the test runs I made, Agent!Sergio got killed by Nikki (who, at this point in time, is his girlfriend) the turn after after he spent the night hugging another girl for warmth.
... I didn't remember making Nikki a yandere, but that would've been a good incipit for some more character development for those two.
Tomorrow I'll do the finishing touches on generator setup and we'll be ready to go!
I would love to see one-paragraph pre-Games interviews with the Tributes (as indeed happened in the books). It'd be a good chance to get my agents motivations down, too.

(I can, though - my sister's a fan. But I'm afraid I'm just not interested in the genre.)
Before the actual games begin, the tributes are interviewed on national television by eccentric host Caesar Flickerman, and the questions vary. Stuff like "why did you volunteer" or "do you think you have a shot at winning", just stuff like that.
... it would be simplest simply to have all 48 post single-paragraph statements. We can't be having with that 'interaction' malarkey.

How dark do you want the commentary to be? Because I'm doing a first-person commentary on a match I'm running, and it is... pretty bad. The whole 'and then the RNG says they kill their friends' thing was always going to end up that way, so if you want us to aim for lighthearted, you'll probably need to specify.

Would having some over-the-top presentation before the Games, à la Saints Row, Genki Super Ethical Reality Climax, do? Something like this would lighten up the atmoosphere, if dark isn't intended.
But the TV hosts will be two anime-type girls who are a bit too cheerful for a game about killing (albeit virtually) your friends.
I will try to keep the game more light-hearted that Huinesoron's portrayal, and in fact I'm editing the events towards that. For example, I'm deleting most instances of suicide and assisted suicide (thinking about leaving one instance of a player just getting fed up with the game or something similar)

...Actually come to think since this is all holodeck stuff, it's probably less violent than Australian Indoor Rules Quiddich.
I don't think Dafydd would be averse to it, but that doesn't mean it'll happen. Depends entirely on the RNG.

I can't wait to see how they do against the rest of the PPC. Not very well, I suspect.
It was more meant as a shortened version of the name to avoid clogging up the event report, and Skinny Guy can be confusing so I'd go with "Gaspard" if you're OK with it.
The theme I'm shooting for is pretty much: "We can't remember this guy's name, so let's just make up a mildly insulting one that sticks and is technically true".
It's the name the auto-generated commentary will use exclusively. That really should be your agent's actual name, otherwise no-one will know it's him.
(Also, Twiggy Papaya is an actual PPC agent.)

"Neeeeeeeerd!" yelled back Harris, who was precariously perched on a rock over the thundering river.
"Excuse me?" shouted back Gaspard. He tried to ignore the burning feeling in the gash in his right leg. That DoSAT intern had been quick with his lightsaber-- but ultimately not quick enough for a simple pointed stick. Come to think of it, that was kind of an embarrassing way to lose this game. He got down to one knee to alleviate the pressure on his injury and watched Harris from the riverbank. "What did you say?"
"NEEEEEEEEEEERD!" repeated Harris. "Are you seriously quoting the Star Wars prequels of all things?
"So what if I am?!" yelled back Gaspard. "I survived the lot of them-- all of the PPC's deadliest nutjobs! I've earned that right!"
"Not yet!" said Harris, windmilling his arms a little to keep his balance. "You haven't survived me!"
Gaspard sat down and put down his stick. "Somehow, I don't think that's going to be a problem," he said.
"You underestimate my power!" said Harris. He crouched in preparation for a jump.
"Don't try it!" said Gaspard, stumbling to his feet and grabbing his spear.
Harris bellowed incoherently and jumped. He was promptly swept away by the water and dashed against the sharp rocks further downstream.

((With apologies to all involved. Don't worry, I do know you're not a bunch of psychopaths! I just loved the PC-Nesh interactions, and this sort of happened...))
They had been a team. PoorCynic and Phobos had been skeptical of each other, almost coming to blows at the Feast, but Neshomeh had been the glue that held them together. Until that morning.
Clean water had been scarce in the Arena - that had been clear from the number of canteens in the Cornucopia - and Phobos had repeatedly turned down his drinks to allow the others to have more. When he awoke, weak from thirst, Neshomeh had nothing to give him. He died shortly before noon.
For a time, Neshomeh seemed okay - until the pair chanced across Kaitlyn. They hadn't really run across her very much - Phobos had hunted with her on fourth day, but for the most part she seemed inclined to stay out of the way. PoorCynic assumed they would follow their usual tactic of giving the other Tribute a wide berth. After all, there were still five of them left; there was no need to get reckless.
Neshomeh's face was still calm as she tied Kaitlyn down, picked up the lighter from where the other woman had dropped it, and carefully lit the fire.
PoorCynic fled. He ran until he practically tripped over BeautyID; as they hid together in the undergrowth, he warned her in hushed tones of Neshomeh's madness.
Then she found them.
BeautyID died hard, and PoorCynic didn't look back when her screaming abruptly stopped and the cannon fired. He ran out of the forest region, across the desert, into the rocky maze. It was the only place he might stand a chance.
Neshomeh followed.
Neither of them slept that night. They hunted each other under the light of the waning moon, peering into the harsh shadows thrown by the sandstone cliffs. At last, as dawn drew near, PoorCynic saw his chance. Leaping from the clifftop, he landed atop Neshomeh, bearing her down onto the ground.
But... he couldn't do it. Panting, he stared down at his onetime ally. Wordlessly, he dropped the rock, stumbled to his feet, and held out his hand.
The cannon sounded. Tough Cookie had stayed out of everyone's way, slowly growing weaker from hunger. The fishing gear she had grabbed at the Cornucopia had been a red herring; there were no fish in the Arena. She had slept through the previous day, rousing only briefly when her sponsor sent a canteen of water. Now, unable even to wake up, she died.
PoorCynic stared up at her image in the brightening sky. He never even saw Neshomeh's sais.
The cannon roared for the last time as Neshomeh straightened up. Meticulously, she wiped the blood from her blades, and waited to be collected.

I also noticed the interactions between myself and Nesh in the simulation. This feels like an appropriate dramatization of how things might have gone down.
Plus, one additional note. I apparently made it all the way to the end without killing anyone. There were two occasions that I noticed where I refuse to deliver a killing blow. Games!Me apparently thought he could come out of it with his sense of honor and morality intact. Poor sad bastard.
... to go insane in the arena and kill everyone. I was a complete monster in Neshomeh vs Phobos. I even killed my own avatar.
'Course, the scary thing is that nobody can promise they won't snap and turn murderous in a hellish life-or-death situation. I mean, I don't THINK I would, I can usually keep my head in dangerous situations, but you just never know until you're there. >.>
I do apologize for leaving you to die, Ix. At the very least, I believe if you're going to kill anything, you should make it as quick as possible.
Hm, I note that TZA and Desdendelle might have been part of the team, and maybe Makari, too. Too bad she drank bad water and got dysentery.

I AM surprised at how bloodthirsty Agent Neshomeh was, blowing people up in their sleep and all. Jeez. O.o Phobos says I probably snapped, turned violent, and eventually completely lost my mind and ended up on top of a freezing mountain.
All the random deaths from dysentery, infection, and hypothermia do seem to indicate a pretty harsh environment in this arena. Blades, explosives, and poison water and food. Not nice. Probably got high ratings, though.

The setting is perfect to make a mega-cooperative thing in which we enter our Agents, and then have them comment about what happened in each turn.
Including the comments by the "dead" ones about their death.

I suggest using 48 Tributes, and letting each person have four if they want (ie, one person per district); if not enough people have four they want to play, cut it down to two.

If two Boarders have two Agents each, they can "share" one district.
In the end, the competition is individual. I've played the generator several times, and plenty of time I've seen people getting killed by their own partners...
When I read the results last night, I thought it begged to have a story written for it. A sports-reporting take suits me just fine. ^_^

I must say, it's fun tracking the teamups through the game. Acacia seems determined to have a group around her, which... may not be a clever plan, ultimately.
(Also, I've slightly rejigged Day 3 after noticing that Acacia stayed with the same group she had on Night 1. Loyalty, in the Arena?)

Does it look to you like the remaining tributes all agree to work together toward the end? I'm not sure what day it is, but after Ave and Nume gang up on Drake, everyone seems to get along until Dio turns on Selene. Or maybe Selene attacks her first, since Selene was last seen thinking about winning.
I reckon Nume and/or Ave might've won if it weren't for those damn squirrels. They started the alliance, I think. And just fancy that. Who would've seen it coming?

Though considering Van Helsing knew how to take out vampires, and he was able to show Mina and Quincey and the lot how to do it. And in the end, Drac's death was... kind of underwhelming? ^^; But that's neither here nor there.

The Aviator fought just like how I thought a time lord would. That was so amazing.
He's acting like some mad hermit - going off on his own, picking flowers, fending people away from his fire.
If he doesn't survive this, I'm going to scream.
