Thanks for that link, although the list was almost the only part of it I understood.

Before I joined the PPC, practically all I knew about Pokemon was that it was a cartoon about a yellow blob, a man with very squinty eyes, and a woman who wore a T-shirt with an R on it. It was shown on TV-AM's Wide Awake Club (or whatever it was called by then) in the nineties. (There might've been a spin-off movie, since I think I remember seeing posters of the yellow blob on the sides of buses.)

Unfortunately, this was when I was getting too old for children's cartoons. I couldn't even get that ironic "so stupid it's good" pleasure from them any more.

Since joining the PPC, I've learnt that (a) Pokemon isn't the yellow blob's name, but a generic term for all blobby creatures; and (b) there was also a spin-off computer game that some of you have played.
