J'admire tes compétences dans le domaine de la linguistique! Mon oncle m'a appris un peu de Sindarin, et je viens d'apprendre à lire l'anglais "moyen." Bienvenue! Je te donne beaucoup de thé vert.

The hat is made from tin foil (to keep out the conspiracy theorists), and the tea biscuit is a pastry!

Just don't have the sheep fly into anything at high speed.
Slightly strange things might happen if it does... slightly strange, explosive things.

Have a pair of socks, useful for when you need a clean pair to wear or an improvised weapon. And I envy your language skills, as I struggle enough with plain ol' Spanish. (I only recognize some Japanese due to my younger brother and the anime I watch, I can usually guess on French but Elvish and Anglo-Saxon? Wow.) We're all happy to see you here obviously. :] (And the posting system threw me off for a while too, but you'll get used to it pretty quickly.)

As someone who has been dabbling with Anglo-Saxon and Old Norse elements for the purposes of world flavor, I am interested in where you picked up what you know. I'm not a linguist myself, more of an armchair etymologist, but still. {= )
I am wondering who went so far as to reprimand you for writing PPC stuff without Permission. Usually we settle for more of a "Hey, did you know?" and an invitation to this place. Especially since you say it was written four years ago.
I wouldn't call it a closed world, either, seeing as what we want most is for the people who want to write PPC stuff to join up and get to know us. We want folks in, not out. {= )
This may or may not help with using the Board. One thing it doesn't mention, for instance, is that you can use regular HTML in your posts like I just did. The wiki in general is full of useful information, though if there's something you can't find, just shout out. Somebody will point you in the right direction and/or fix it.
Anyway, welcome!

*squee* I use your site whenever I need to figure out Elvish translations - it's in my bookmarks as one of my most important resources! Awesome to meet you!
I'm Cassie. I squee a lot. :P Have a bag of pebbles and a Random Shiny Object. They come in handy for distracting Sues (and oneself).
And we're not "closed" so much as "picky about writing". You're welcome to come and hang around with us all you like - we love new people - but we do ask that you get Permission before you write missions and such.
Hope you stay around. ^^

C'est dommage que tu aies oublié ton français. Ton japonais, ça va mieux ?
By which I mean, I'm trying to gauge how much Japanese I can write you without being overwhelming. I like it when people do (some of) the languages I do!
Also, have some House Roac hot chocolate:

Hi! I'm pretty new here too, but everyone is really nice. Here, you can share some of my chocolate, though I'm sure you'll have your own mountain soon.
Total respect for knowing all of those languages. I'm almost fluent in French and have tried for a long time to learn Sindarian, but real life has always got in the way.

A Tolkien language expert sure is useful here. And I hope you'll get permission one day.
Here, have a folding car as a welcoming gift. Careful, it tends to unfold itself randomly. Do not put it near fragile things. And do not poke it either. One did it, and the car nearly unfolded on him.
