Well met, rookie! Please enjoy this genuine 19th century French army shako as a welcoming present.
Here's some snacks!
Ooh, a linguist! That is VERY neat. Welcome to the board~ Have some German Chocolate.
Have a pair of sock that don't match, and a match that doesn't light. Use them with wisdom.
Well met, rookie! Please enjoy this genuine 19th century French army shako as a welcoming present.
J'admire tes compétences dans le domaine de la linguistique! Mon oncle m'a appris un peu de Sindarin, et je viens d'apprendre à lire l'anglais "moyen." Bienvenue! Je te donne beaucoup de thé vert.
Thank-you for the praises and the green tea! *sips*
Merci beaucoup!
Hello and welcome! Have a conical hat and a tea biscuit!
The hat is made from tin foil (to keep out the conspiracy theorists), and the tea biscuit is a pastry!
Thank you! Now, not only am I fashionable, I am well-fed!
Don't feed it Sueish honey.
No sweeter kind!
I'll be sure to share with the Grizzly.
...I think. Welcome to the Board! Please deposit your sanity in the provided receptacle. *indicates bucket marked "Warg Fodder"* You shan't need it here.
Hello, have a mini-Darkside! I found him running around HQ. His name is Squishy! He shall be your Squishy!
Minis are created from a misspelling of a canon character, so a mini-Darkside's name should look more like Kairy or Xemnis, rather than just being a given name. Just for future reference.
Aha. Good to know. *takes note*
Hi Squishy! You're a cute one, aren't you?
Thanks!
Welcome to the party. Have a leather bound copy of the missions,of Jay and Acacia.
Leather-bound? I was going to settle for cyber-bound, but this is great!
Welcome to the madness!
Have a spork, a Very Important Towel and a super flying sheep.
Just don't have the sheep fly into anything at high speed.
Slightly strange things might happen if it does... slightly strange, explosive things.
Yum! Thanks!
I have a collection of Sporks already, but this is my first Very Important Towel!
Thanks!
Fair winds!
Now you can throw BBQ parties!
Thank you!
Is the BBQ on the boat?
Yes, it is. Everything is there.
Have a pair of socks, useful for when you need a clean pair to wear or an improvised weapon. And I envy your language skills, as I struggle enough with plain ol' Spanish. (I only recognize some Japanese due to my younger brother and the anime I watch, I can usually guess on French but Elvish and Anglo-Saxon? Wow.) We're all happy to see you here obviously. :] (And the posting system threw me off for a while too, but you'll get used to it pretty quickly.)
I actually studied Spanish in Middle School. I just remember a little counting and basic greetings, along with "Donde estan mes pantalones?" That's sure to come in handy some day, right?
I'm figuring out the posting system alright so far. I think. We'll see.
Thank-you for the welcome!
I recognize you from WGW. XD Have a panda who eats, shoots and leaves!
Long time member of that community, I am.
I'm glad that panda has poor aim...
Welcome, new friend! Help yourself to the sack of venomous arthropods. Don't worry, they don't bite!
They are cute, in their own, nibbly way.
*squee* I found someone who uses my website!
Thank you for the many gifts! I shall be sure to treasure them, until I need to hurl them at a Sue and flee.
I think I might stick around for a while... I've been looking for a way to vent anger at badfic, and WGW seems to be slowly dying.
It's great to have new people here!
Here, have some Steve Reich for the road:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xU23LqQ6LY4
Interesting music! Pretty in its own way. I could swear I've heard it in a movie before.
Thank you for the welcome!
I would hunt down the rest of it: it's difficult to appreciate minimalist music if you don't listen to the whole thing. (It goes on for about an hour more after that. Somehow, it doesn't get boring.) Plus, it's Steve Reich, who's one of the best of the minimalists right now.
Glad you liked it! =D
A music nerd, huh?
What do you think of this?
I'm getting to that place where I'm learning how to write music reasonably well. Crazy times are had with that.
As of the link above... I thought it was okay. Not my cup of tea, though.
BTW, where can I find a good resource on Old English?
Have an Anglo-Saxon to French dictionary. I'm sure it will be very helpful. :D
Well, that was four years ago and you're here now, so I'm sure we'll all forgive you.
Why thank you! Pity my French is so bad.
Hi, have some fudge!
Hi! I'm pretty new here too, but everyone is really nice. Here, you can share some of my chocolate, though I'm sure you'll have your own mountain soon.
Total respect for knowing all of those languages. I'm almost fluent in French and have tried for a long time to learn Sindarian, but real life has always got in the way.
I've gotten chocolate, fudge, and hot cocoa.
If you want to learn Sindarin, I did write a textbook. I'll be accepting applications for the next semester soon, if you're interested.
For dead languages, I don't know how to speak them as much as I know how to use resources on them efficiently.
Yeah, the board is something you have to get used to.
Anyways, have some awesome-laced cookies.
Also, Japanese might be useful against Wapan!Sues.
I am full of AWESOME! I must do AWESOME things! (thanks for the cookies)
I can assist in poking fun at Fangirl!Japanese.
Yoroshiku onegaishimasu!
Hello and welcome to the Board! Here, have some chocolate, and please enjoy your stay here!
*pats stomach* Goodness, I'm not sure how much more of this I can hold!
Thank you!
A Tolkien language expert sure is useful here. And I hope you'll get permission one day.
Here, have a folding car as a welcoming gift. Careful, it tends to unfold itself randomly. Do not put it near fragile things. And do not poke it either. One did it, and the car nearly unfolded on him.
How cute! It's doing Origami!
I hope I get permission too. 'Til then, I'll just advise on matters of linguistics.
It's supposed to fold into a case, not into a... giraffe?
*inspects it carefully* Well, all tech in PPC does strange things after all.
