Good thing it's inactive when you fold the knife up. :D
Otherwise your hilt would be a bit holy.

Umm, hey. The name's Unbridled, Unbi for short. After spending days without food or water in the wasteland that Munroe once compared to an eternal rickroll, Tvtropes, I stumbled across the PPC page.
I was intrigued, after being rehydrated by medical profssionals, by both the premise (Hunting down Sues and giving 'em what for? Sign me up!) and the characters you folks have put together. I found the world you folks have created to be rich, entertaining, and, above all, just zany enough to be fun.
As fandom goes, I'm pretty tight into Lord of the Rings, though I have slipped out of it a bit in recent years (I can't recite geneaologies, don't know Elvish, and The Silmarillion went riiight over my head), and continue my years-long love affair with the works of PTerry (Including his collab works, with a special place in my crusty little heart for Good Omens.) I'm also pretty familiar with Star Wars (not so much the EU), the MtG Multiverse, and the Dresden Files.
I have a deep seated hatred of Sues from a run-in a few years ago. (I tried to play the My Immortal drinking game. It did not end well.)
So. That's me. Looking forward to smearing badfics with you all.
And I MWOTed again, didn't I? Darn.
Yeah, rather late here. I'd been away from the boards when this was first posted due to certain difficulties that have left me with an extensive degree of paranoia, although I've gotten back in the habit of trusting my anti-virus systems to not be lying to me.
Have a dose of paranoia: there is currently a virus that will close open instances of task manager and the command prompt that can apparently delete the registry entry for safe mode.
And an Puma.
Is...is it normal that it would be trying to maul me?
Don't worry, just feed it milk and keep it happy.
So I shouldn't be giving it this bleepka, then?
Alcohol is bad for animals, and the tiger doesn't have squicky images to erase, I hope.
You may call yourself dorky if you know what Maslab means. Without using the internet.
Oh, and have an M4 folding knife. Twelve inch long blade with an energy field around it. (I'm from the Halo universe, alright?)
Hmmm... that reminds me... I've been running low. Probably time for another trip in to the manufacturing facilities.
Oh...thanks?
The energy field is moderately intimidating. I'm...gonna...put it in here.
For safety.
Good thing it's inactive when you fold the knife up. :D
Otherwise your hilt would be a bit holy.
Is it made from a piece of the True Cross?
(Methinks you meant holey. ^_~ )
~Neshomeh, amused.
Everyone who gets the reference gets a cookie :D
And I KNOW I'll feel like an idiot when I finally figure it out, because I get the feeling at least one reference is something I should know. {= P
~Neshomeh, cookieless.
Give yah a hint:
Those who wear helmets are the redshirts.
Think about it for a while.
And I'm still coming up blank. {= (
~Neshomeh
I'll give you one more hint:
"Yeah, whoo, bring it on, sucka! This my kinda s**t!"
(different character, though)
And Nas was making a Dresden Files ref.
If I had to be serious, though, Maslab, were you referencing RvB?
Nope, Gears of War 2.
It's during the beginning tutorial, and Fenix's rational for doing it is that the others don't want the rookie getting holy.
Ah.
I'm not a big FPSer. Goldeneye 64 or L4D is more my speed.
Well... GoW isn't an FPS.
Know what is a good FPS, thought? Modern Warfare 2.
*whoops and heads off to play*
It's a TPS, then.
*shrugs*
I go in more for fantasy games.
Yeah.
What kind of fantasy games?
Final Fantasy and Star Ocean are big ones, along with the Chrono series.
I have a soft spot in the pitted lump of coal the mage who created me used for my heart for the Elder Scrolls series.
Fallout 3 and Stalker are both good post-apocalyptic RPGs.
I assume yo mean S.T.A.L.K.E.R.?
I've heard good things abot the both of them, but I've also heard that Fallot 3 is just Oblivion with guns. *shrugs*
Fallout 3 > Oblivion (imo)
Oblivion didn't really have any substance to it, compared to Morrowind. Fallout 3 actually makes you feel like you're struggling to survive.
On the harder difficulties, that is.
And yeah, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
See, I hated Morrowind because there was just too much!
And Mods are surprisingly good for helping you to get over Oblivion Ennui.
I liked Morrowind because there was so much.
My idea of an RPG is that they should have as much as possible.
I liked that there was a lot to do, it was just poorly executed IMO.
I have the same opinion of Oblivion. Morrowind actually felt like a fantasy world. Oblivion just felt like a clone of some Old England country side, with all its mythical creatures, to boot.
Is it sad that I got both references?
*hands Unbridled two cookies*
Nah. You get sugar out of it.
Oh...the doctor said I wasn't to have any sugar...It brings out my disorder.
Oh well!
We'll see about that. C'mere.
*begins chasing Unbridled around a fountain*
*yakkety sax begins playing in the background*
*reverses direction, crashing into headlong*
Gotcha now!
*sits on Unbridled's chest and stuffs cookie in to their mouth*
Eat it! Just eat it!
*hears musical notes start*
Awww... sh**.
Nice to meet a fellow Dresden Files fan! (I've just finished reading Turn Coat, and I absolutely adored it).
Welcome to the PPC! :) Please allow me to present you with this gift of a glow-in-the-dark spork *hands it over* You can use it for killing Sues in the dark (or eating icecream with).
Oooh, I like that.
Turn Coat actually made me really sad,(awkwardly enough, the character killed off was one of my L.O.'s. Shut up.) but it was still an incredibly good read.
Thanks for the spork. But I definitely won't be eating vanilla ice cream for a while. huuurrrrr...
I like your nametag.
Here, have a bag of pebbles and a Random Shiny Object. *eyes your list of fandoms* Anyone who gets on with Tolkien and PTerry is a friend in my book. Many welcomes to the PPC.
Well, thank you! *stares at shuiny oject*
Glad you agree!
Welcome, though, Master Unbi! As a gift, I present you with an overdone internet meme. (It's Caramelldansen!)
Ah, LOTR, you might regret choosing that. Lot of bad fic in that. Good luck, though.
Oh, I know...
I've READ Celebrian. *shudders*
The swedish pop music! It's driving me mad(der)!
Excellent for cleaning up blood after giving Sues exactly what they deserve. You will be joining the DMS, right? *gives you a pointed glare*
Anyhow, always good to see a new face :)
I was planning on joining the DMS, yeah.
Any organization that lets me kill things dead is alright in my book.
Help yourself to a venomous invertebrate.
I know what you mean about LotR; it's an awesome story, but the universe surrounding it is so complicated, it's hard to keep track of everything. I'm thinking about learning Elvish, just so I can say I understand it...
Also, it's good to see someone else who's into M:tG!
*high-fives*
Ummm...thanks? *licks said invertebrate*
Yeah, I don't have that kind of dedication XDD
I just love the lore. (one of the main reasons I'm still playing post-M10)
*ceremonially pokes the newbie*
Hello! Welcome. LotR and PTerry, huh? It's... it's like the old days come back again. *gets teary-eyed* I too am a disciple of those great masters, as well as Neil Gaiman, whom I actually got to meet in person once (though when I say "meet" I actually mean "hear speak and then stand in line for hours to get books signed by").
I also dig sci-fi, but Farscape is my One True Fandom in that genre. I've seen Star Wars, of course, and some of each Star Trek series, and even some SG-1, but I could never forgive the latter for replacing Farscape when it went off the air, even when they hired on Farscape's two lead stars.
I keep telling myself I'm going to read the Dresden Files. Someday I will. At the moment I'm re-reading LotR as inspiration for NaNoWriMo.
Now, I have just one question: what is "to MWOT"?
~Neshomeh
*hands the receently acquired towel*
Umm...There, there?
I haven't had a chance to get too much into Gaiman, unfortunately. You should totally check out the Dresden Files, though-really entertaining stuff, and a lot of nerd culture refs. (there's a book where all the mooks are slasher film monsters, for example.)
And yeah, it means Mighty Wall O' Text.
But...That's all I've had for months!
*sighs and eats some*
Stupid waybread.
How well do you know Doctor Who? Because we've got TARDISes available.
Not too well, unfortunately.
I know just enough to know what a TARDIS is, and about Rose.
Have a cup of tea. It has no Sue-slaying powers, but it'll cure all what ails you.
Lemon and a sugar, please.
*sips*
Welcome to the Board! Please deposit your sanity in the provided receptacle. *indicates bucket marked "Warg Fodder"* You shan't be needing it here. Also, have an Internets. Watch out for snakes.
Why, thank you! I shall treasure it always. *sniffs at the internets*
*eats*
What's "sanity?"
Pray that you never experience it.
I'll try to avoid it.
*slasher giggle*
Welcome to the PPC! Here's short bow and a jug of bleepka, to get rid of all of those bad memories. I'm not precisely familiar with all of those series, but I know them a little. That drinking game for My Immortal is a bit dangerous. :|
Yeah, ended up needing to stay overnight at a hospital for observation. Won't be doing that again.
Thanks! Hmmm...Now I just need some Janx Spirit, so I can experience for myself the feeling of being brained by a gold brick covered in lemon.
While having nasty memories erased! Perfect!
For my part, I'm into several SF fandoms starting with Star (Trek, Wars, -gate), fantasy books, some TV shows (House, Numb3rs), and U2 (yes, that band).
I never got too into Stargate. My roomate tells me it's good. House is amazing, and the little I've seen of Numb3rs seems decent as well.
Nice ta meetcha!
I'm more into Atlantis, fandom-wise, although SG-1 is better.
I'm also taking on U2 because I've seen pretty bad stuff over there, and I'm a huge fan of the band. (seriously, Bono and Edge in a bondage fic?)
...
I just died a little inside.
A lot of RPF/RPS is like that. Not only U2. In fact, U2 fandom is rather mild. I've heard about RPS where more than two people had it on, or fics where people were raping each other. All very explicit. And I could go on and on...
I love U2, I love the (real) relationship between them, and I love the fact that they've been friends for more than 30 years. They're so cute together, especially Bono with his bandmates. And Edge is so totally Vulcan (and therefore awesome), too.
BTW, my Agents were originally tall ships (I'm very much into tall ships, even in the literal sense lol) and I'll see them (well, their real-world doppelgänger) at the Tall Ship Races in 2010, or so I hope (depends on my future job, and I don't even know which one I'll get, and when).
Ah, I see.
There are a few bandoms that I have read, I'm sad to say, but I mostly stay away from RPF.
