Have a shapeshifting plushie. It can turn into anything, depending on what you want. It can become a flying monkey, and I've seen one turn into a baozi fairy before. And Cthulhu sometimes appears, for those into Nightmare Fuel or cute stuffed eldritch abominations.

The second is delicious no matter what flavours you like, and the former will clean up most liquid messes, though we haven't tested it on every substance yet. I don't recommend trying.

hit a writer's block for my writing sample, though Pads said my agents are okay.
Writer's block always loosens after a while. My advice would be to try writing something else instead :) (which would be why I have about twenty unfinished docs in my googledocs that I cycle through...)
I have writer's block for basically everything now... except one thing which I may need your help with. Are you familiar with something called Vrolik's syndrome/brittle bone disease/glass-bone syndrome (take your pick of the names)?
And could bring myself up to speed with little trouble. Why?
The main thing being, is it hereditary after it appears? Will any children (if they can even have children) have it?
Which if I remember my genetics correctly suggests to me that heterozygotes (people with one copy of the gene) will display the syndrome.
Which means that if one parent is a heterozygote and one parent is a non-sufferer, their children have a fifty fifty chance of having it. If one parent is a homozygote (has two copies of the gene) then all their children will have it.

He's only got Vrolik's syndrome in his legs (and I have no idea if he's hetero or homozygote). In the ME universe, it's possible to treat, but not cure Vrolik's.
Well in that case you've got the luxury of deciding whether it would be better for the plot of your story for him to be a hetero- or homozygote :D
a completely wacko romance story between him and his commanding officer, I'm thinking hetero so that there's a "will any children have it or not" aspect. 'cause angst, why not?

All of my stories barring my Night of the Living Bread parody series have an angst aspect in them at some point. It's kinda annoying sometimes.
It just creeps in, doesn't it.
Though if it 'creeps' to soap opera levels, I smack it back down with a vengeance. In fact, given that my Pokémon series is growing rapidly darker, I've decided that, to counteract it, every fifty or so chapters, I'll have a completely off the wall chapter.
