Please have a bag of black-hole chocolates, and a self-updating guidebook of all the deathtraps in the multiverse.
Quick question though. You said you wrote Missions. What spinoffs are yours exactly?

In the carpet!
Dripping from the ceilings!
How lovely.
Welcome, mate. I gift upon you: a diamond. So you can put it on your head and become a diamond rin, and be used as a way of proposal!
You can also have this cricket bat, so you can beat my head in. Just in case.
I've not actually heard of your spin-off or agents. Who're they, might I ask?
I'm, er. Uncertain what to search up on that there wiki.
Welcome!

So happy to come back after all this time and find the community thriving! You newbies are the lifeblood of the PPC, and seeing so many of you fills me with joy.

I liked how the agents dealt with their being noticed by canon characters. Their handling of the situation was smooth and showed that they're experienced agents, but still awkward enough to be entertaining.
My main question is, what happened to the One Ring? The Fellowship is in possession of the Ring Frodo, so it could be anywhere. I'm not an expert in the continuum, but doesn't the One Ring wreak all kinds of havoc when left to its own devices? Leaving behind the One Ring seems like too big a canonical inconsistency to be fixed by canon's reasserting itself after the Sue's death -- when canon characters are replaced, PPC agents are typically responsible for tracking down the original (who is usually stuck in a plot hole). So unless I'm missing something, at the end of the story the Fellowship is still in possession of the Ring Frodo, while the One Ring is off doing who-knows-what.
That loose end is bugging me (are you planning to explain how the One Ring got returned in a sequel? Or were you thinking that the agents handed the job off to a different team?), but other than that I found this to be an efficient, satisfying Sue-slaying.

I kind of had the same reaction, which I think has less to do with LJ itself, and more to do with my heavily associating it with teenagerhood. It makes more sense that it would've stuck around, considering it was a pretty heavily-used platform when many of us drifted away.

For my first newbie gift, please accept these two 6 oz. jars of Kimchi and a replica of a 'Free Hugs' sign a classmate once made!
I must applaud you two. Going straight to chatting with the community from years of lurking must be rather disorienting, yet you both were quick to converse at the Discord channel mere moments after you two revealed yourselves. Even though only one of you is shy, it's still quite a feat nonetheless.
Hope you enjoy your stay!

Curious: why do you want to delete your LJ? by
on 2017-01-07 16:52:00 UTC

The only change they've carried out is to move their servers. By all means remove any personal information on there, but other than that...
The easiest way to archive your LJ is to import it wholesale to Dreamwidth. Simply set up a Dreamwidth account, then on the 'Organise' menu go to 'Import Content'. Feed it your LJ username and password, and it will cheerfully import everything for you. Then join the_ppc community (for ease of finding), and forgot all about it.

Unstated and unconsidered. by

The implicit assumption of prior DES material has been that all its agents are the original Weeds. We've never seen a DES agent who wasn't named Weed-[Number], other than the Captain himself.
But I don't believe it's ever been stated definitively that that is (and always will be) the case. It does mean that any prospective new additions would have to fit into a team that's been together for decades, which tends to be a difficult process.

The easiest thing to do... by

Would be to back up your journal (or at least the PPC posts) on Archive.is, as described above.
Frankly, my ability to keep up with the Lost Tales archive was completely overwhelmed a while ago, thanks mostly to Webs' behavior of deleting everything that isn't active enough. There's way too much work, and I have no time to do it anymore, so if it's safely archived somewhere else, even if it's not ideal, that's gonna have to be good enough. {= /

On the Department of External Security... by

...I do note that the Wiki article mentions that all members of the Department are Flowers (that being the Security Dandelions and such) but what is the actual recruitment process (if any) for the Department?
I would assume that trusted and extremely competent agents might have a chance at fitting into DES' ranks since they would form the vanguard of Headquarters itself but without prior cases, I'm not sure if this would be too canon-breaking for the DES.
