I will probably be overall less active on the Discord (and probably the Board as well) this summer because my folks and I are busy with travel plans, summer camp, and other things. Also, my mom tends to grumble about me sitting on my bum all day in front of my laptop when I'm not doing schoolwork.

If I want to go shout into a couple other servers I'm in about your book, do you want me to just use the link from this Board post?

Oh, my gosh, I have been so excited for this ever since I started seeing you post excerpts in the Writing channel. Need to find a way to get the book in readable format, now - since I don't really have a great way of reading things that aren't straight PDF files. ^^;

Still - I can't wait to get my hands on this, and I'm already excited for the rest of the trilogy. (Trilogy! I still can't get over the thought of one of my friends having an entire published book series.)

I just realised "never fails to disappoint" is NOT what I meant. I liked the story hS, I just can't phrase things properly. X'D

But aside from that, I would have seconded him in a heartbeat as a mainstay who also offers thoughtful feedback on everyone's stuff.

Right now, the first nine Young Wizards books are available on ebooksdirect at half off. That's $20 for nine books.

To provide a few more details, these are the New Millenium Edition releases, which rewrote the first nine books with 2008 as the start of the timeline and edited them to make the progress of time actually logical and consistent (the original Young Wizards timeline is kind of notoriously a mess, in that characters ages, birth dates, and the actual years do not match up at all because each book was set in its year of release...), with other updates and adjustments (content has been edited, and also I think there's some expanded scenes?), and is the official Young Wizards timeline from Book 10 onwards.

Also, ebooksdirect is a thing I just found out about! It's Diane Duane and Peter Morewood (her husband)'s official e-book store, where they sell ebooks of every book of theirs that isn't somehow locked down by publisher obligations (unfortunately this does mean a lot of books are missing...). It's not just Young Wizards that's on sale: everything on the site is 50% off right now. And all of it, absolutely all of it, is DRM-free: you are not restricted to one platform, one e-reader, or anything of the kind, and nobody can take away your copies of your books that you bought because they decided they wanted to pull them. Because Diane Duane is like that.

Judging by past knowledge and activity on the server, I think Eatpraylove, Voyd, and OrangeFox would all make great PGs (not nominating, just throwing my opinions out).

The Discord is very active and I could name the most active poster that I know of, although I don't know all of the Board names for them.

Which was harder than it should have been, because the tool I used last time doesn't work on the current Board. But I could cobble it together in Excel again. (Took about an hour, but eh.)

Like the regular PPC Badfic Games, you, the author, have given permission to write badfic, and it should logically be behind a creativity shield.

And I’d love to write a badfic for it, but I’m not sure if I’d be able to mission it alone. Anyways, should be fun.

...and it certainly didn't here. I laughed at the Horoscopes closing bit and sympathised far too much with the passage of time being a scam.

If an author gives the go-ahead to write badfic, does that weaken the canon or is the canon shielded from it?

(That is to say, go for it, because I'm absolutely tickled you'd want to do this!)

It's only going to be available in ebook format for the time being with physical copies being print on demand, but maybe one day something of mine will be in physical stores. :)

Now I’m tempted to write Mina lecturing the Monitor’s staff. Very tempted. But I’m not quite sure how to proceed.
