I'm all for community spirit, and friending fellow Agents is fun. But, as Neshomeh says, I'd rather choose who I associate with online than have my RL name pop up every time someone checks that page.
I'd appreciate if you took it down-- though, as pointed out below, you're still welcome here. We just tend to encourage introductory posts and getting-to-know stuff.

Definitely my favorite moments with Sheppard almost all center around interactions with Rodney. He gets a few good moments in with Ronon in the last season. I liked their interaction in the building collapse episode. My favorite fanfic is always about McKay and Sheppard (not slash), it is sometimes hard to find good ones, but I keep trying.
I was pretty ticked off at the writers over the last couple of seasons. I didn't mind so much that they brought Carter to Atlantis, but they killed off a great character to bring her in and then didn't even use her character's strengths. They made her not a super genius fix it person, which made it totally pointless to have her there. I did end up really liking Woolsey in the leader role, though. The show would have fared better if they had put him in directly after Weir.
Then the last several episodes seemed like they had went over to FFnet and stole a bunch of fanfic. It really felt like they were just going through the motions, biding their time to get to Universe.
Ok, ok, I promised some goodfic, didn't I? These first two are both by the same author and both could share the same note, though only the first one included it. They are also really good examples of how to do OC's without making them Sues/Stus
On the Road to Come What May
Summary:It started with a strange vessel crashing down from the sky. Then three strangers appeared in a decaying city, willing to risk everything to rescue an injured, imprisoned friend. For those caught up in the adventures of these four, nothing will ever be the same again.
Note: This is an outsider viewpoint story, told entirely through the eyes of original characters (two main ones, plus two one-offs for the prologue and interlude.) Our heroes, though, are very much central to the plot, and appear in virtually every scene, and are talked about in those very few scenes that they don't appear in.
The Flowers of the Field
Summary:On the first day of spring, a young girl finds a badly injured man, chained to a dead man and caught in a trap
This one is one of my favorites. It tapers off a lot after chapter 10, but not into badfic range, just they dragged it out after it should have ended.
Silent Sacrifice
Summary:John, Rodney, and Ronon try to survive after crash landing on an unexplored planet. Their injuries and lack of supplies begin to take their toll as they wait to be rescued.
If you've been reading in this fandom for long you've probably seen this, but it is a good one.
The Barista Series
Summary:These stand alone vignettes start at the very beginning with Children of the Gods and takes the reader through SG life as seen through the eyes of Daniel's Barista.
This goes through Season 5.

I still can't get over the gratuitous movement to DC from Maine (no explanation) and Webb's specialty changing from Oriental Studies to Every Goddamn Language Ever (also unexplained).
It's mentioned in the source books he doesn't know Russian! And why would he ever know Amharic? WHY?! It doesn't even fit. :|

Which is not good policy for a fanfiction writer, which he is. Like Mary-Sues, he also gives the name a bad rep.

Next time you post a badfic alert, include those comments, perhaps along with the author's summary (so we can get a glimpse of their style) and any relevant warnings. Thanks :)

Firstly, I've never seen your name before, and I have been here a lot lately. You've never made an introduction post or joined in any other threads before that I have seen. No offense - we always like to meet new people - but suddenly making this choice for us without ever really joining our community in the first place is rather rude. No, you didn't offend (me, at least), but it's not exactly welcome.
I also don't like the idea of a Facebook page for our community, mainly because we all go by pennames and Facebook is, by definition, a place where one goes by their real name. I'm not about to connect the two.
So I'm sorry, but I, at least, will not be having anything to do with that Facebook page. I'd rather it was deleted, to be honest. That said, please don't turn and run because your first post here was a mistake; go ahead and make an introduction post, start afresh, and join our community properly. Everyone's welcome.

On a physical level, Damien's more than a match for Joel; Joel's a regular mortal, and Damien's got the burning and super-healing. On the other hand, if Miranda gets into his head in time ... probably Joel and Miranda, then.

I'm not a Trekkie, so I wouldn't know the specifics.*
I do skim a lot of badfic, though, and 'high school' where it ought not to be yields a bit... [insert highly awesome character here]xOC gets you somewhere...Use the citron level 'lemon'for the worst results.
*(I.e. Legolas/OC always yields a magnificently twisted one or two, and Aragorn/Legolas... is not something I do often. If ever.)

Mm-hmm, 44. How can they NOT pick it up? Do we really want to know?
About that goodfic. I can, obviously, only judge fics about things I know, so... what floats your boat? Oblivion, Morrowind, xenomorphs, Jane Eyre, Phantom of the Opera, Bioshock (the game), F.E.A.R., Prince of Persia?

WHAT? 44? I didn't look at his profile, mind you, 'cause I shut the page down as soon as I was finished reading (and found out that I am not allowed to review it).
But...44? How in everything that is holy can the admins of ff.net NOT pick up on something THAT BAD in so many stories?

You're telling me! Can you believe the spaced-out nutjob (he's got to be constantly high on something) actually posted 44 stories on ff.net? One of them even desecrates xenomorphs! I am so gonna put this story on the Unclaimed Badfic page.
By the way, would you feel better if I put up some links to goodfic? We may not have the same fandoms, but still, goodfic is good.

It's one thing if individual PPCers want to be friends on Facebook, but I don't know how comfortable I am with the idea of anyone at all being able to connect the PPC with my real name that easily. I'm not particularly shy about the fact that I'm involved here, mind you, but I'd prefer it to be up to me who finds out, and how. Also, I hate to imagine what would happen if angry fanbrats who've been PPCed found their way there. Which is probably inevitable.
So, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not about to join. I second everything IndeMaat said, too.

Eventhough I found "my" character in Rush, so I have a reason to watch. It gets slightly better over time, especially between him and colonel Young.
The rest of the characters are...lame. Not thought out properly. Deranged, maybe. The kid (Eli) has no brain of his own, despite being a freaking genius. The guy sexing in closets (Lt. Matthew Scott) is torn between his past and his present and has fallen for the really dumb late-senator's daughter (Chloe).
Well, end of ramble. I think the basic idea is great. However the script does not live up to it.
As for SG-1, it went downhill ever since RDA left the show. My personal favourite seasons are 1-5. After they started yo-yoing with Daniels ascensions it lost a part of its appeal.
As for Atlantis, I loved Elizabeth best. At first I was also quite into Teyla, but they killed her potential as they brought Ronon to the team. And the 4th season just burried it. Rodney is great. Eventhough different script writers seemed to have very different oppinions about what is he really like. Shepp is too much of a superhero and womanizer for me to really appreciate him but he had a great chemistry with Rodney sometimes.
All in all I love the SG worlds because they brought me to sci-fi and everything fandom, so I find it hard to just condemn it, even in spite of it's many shortcommings.
