I think you are pretty close with the viral analogy. We have seen documented cases of Vanbrolaria, and insuenza....
If you ever want someone to bounce genetics stuff off for psudo plausability then I'll volenteer, I've got two genetics degrees!

I'll look for a mother-daughter Sue team, and donate it if I find one. However, as I tend to avoid romance, that might not be for a while. Anyway, anamia, thanks for letting me rewrite that scene! I don't see my male agent wandering the halls for a while—he's currently on a mission, then he will be opening some of my welcome gifts (his partner already has the rest), will run off into some canon with nice scenery after that, and will finally spend some time in FicPsych before he can encounter Cocoa), but expect to see her eventually.

Writing badfic by

I'd kind of like a badfic in my original canon. One of my agent's would enjoy returning to his continuity, but he doesn't know all the coordinates. A bacfic is (I think) the only way to get the Flowers to give them to him. Plus, it would be fun to see how he reacts. Tell me if you're interested, but I have a feeling that you'd want more information about the canon before you start breaking the rules the world uses (ironic, isn't it?) I'll get working on the wiki, and everything on this list takes place in that canon.

I'm not sure if it was a case of the Suethor knowing the PPC or not, but I remember one of Mara and Isaiah's fics changed partway through because the Suethor understood one of the reviews (s)he got. Quite the inspirational model.

The minis for Metal Gear Solid would probably be mini-Gekkos, or perhaps more hilariously, mini-cardboard boxes that move around when nobody's looking at them.
Just my thoughts on the subject.

The first time a name is misspelled for a given universe in a mission, the writer of that mission gets to decide what form the resulting Minis take. According to the list of killed badfic on the Wiki, no one has done a Metal Gear mission yet, so I assume the Mini is still up in the air.
I have no idea about whether MG has an OFU yet. Try checking the list at the bottom of this page:

How about mpreg Gary Stus? by
on 2010-05-08 01:41:00 UTC
Reply
Granted, the oddity of the mpreg reproductive method may present additional hurdles for the scientist (one of which hurdles is bound to be the inadequate supply of bleeprin); however, the existence of mpreg does increase the probability that sufficient data can be gathered on parent/child pairs.
Though it is admittedly ethically dubious, examining the Possession Sue may also be a potential source of data, as canon characters tend to become pregnant more often than Mary Sues. It may only be practical in those cases where the Sue has actually replaced the canon character, rather than the cases where simple possession still allows exorcism and return of the canon character to his native habitat.
Due to the rarity of Mary Sue reproduction by pregnancy and birth, I agree that we may unfortunately be forced to rely on case studies rather than being able to collect enough data for proper statistical analysis.

Dannflor Reguba is shagging a male stoat, and his father is demonised for being the only one to think there's anything remotely odd or questionable about it. While we obviously don't know what the Abbeydwellers' response to homosexuality would be, I have my doubts that it'd be as much of a complete non-issue as it's portrayed here, and the fact that the Stu is a stoat would definitely be a really, really huge deal.

Ye gods. This world needs more people like you, Wide Eyed Idealist. *grin* For all I'm not advocating deceit or what have you, it makes me pretty happy that 1) someone on the 'Board was suddenly afraid they'd fallen in with a group of snarling wolves, and tested accordingly-- I understand, it can be a hard thing to judge from the inside of a group! It makes me really happy that, rather than immediately going, "But they were nice to me! These critics must be crazy," you actually tested to make sure. 2) Really, really happy you got the response you did, for obvious reasons. (I'm almost certain we've had civil, somewhat friendly discussions with Suethors before-- there's a thing somewhere in the Constitution that says "If you like Sues, most people here will disagree, this is probably not the place for you," but it never says you can't post here at all.)
So! You are a Very Cool person. ^_^ Thank you for doing this, and then not being too scared to explain later.
(Though I will say, I'm with the above posters on the rather obvious thing-- that's partly why I didn't respond. It was too convenient for someone to come looking for help just weeks after we're accused of being unhelpful bullies. I figured it was either one of Boosette's crowd, wondering whether we'd act the monsters they thought us.)

I remember one who came here to have us go over her (unPPC'd, as far as I know) Suefic and explain its problems. And I've had a Suethor who came across a sporking I did of her fic and said that it was funny and that her fic had sucked. And there are plenty of former badfic writers who learned better after coming across the PPC or other sporking sites.

I've been trying to find one, to no avail. It's a little annoying, because the Official Fanfiction University of Outer Heaven or something along those lines would be a very entertaining read.

I seem to have unleashed a monster...
Judging from the way the affect canons, though, I'd say that 'Sue traits act more like a kind of virus, jumping from character to character. For actual 'Sues who reproduce (there are a few, I believe. Rape victim! 'Sues, probably.), that would be very interesting to look at. Of course, we would need both mother and child. Maybe someone should send out a general anouncement that we need pregnant 'Sues brought in either alive or in pieces, preferably with the uterus intact. Though for those impregnated by canon characters, it might be hard to separate 'Sue characteristics from posession 'Sue ones. And I wonder about the glitter content in such hybrids...
And to think, I ran away screaming from biology. Looks like I'll be regretting that. -grins-
Punnett squares, hmm... We'll see. I think for the moment my agents are more worried about the kill directives, but seeing if those are hereditary would be important too.

Mapping the Suvian genome... that's ambitious!
Now I'm wondering about heritability. Most Sues don't reproduce, so it would be hard to track, but it would be interesting to see which Sue traits are dominant, which are recessive, which show co-dominance, which are autosomal vs. sex-based, etc. And there would have to be mitigating factors that humans don't have, of course, since we all know how cooperative Sues are with the rules of biology. Possibly related to glitter saturation? Is there glitter in the actual chromosomes? O.o
If the next lab report you do involves Punnett squares, I will be thrilled to death. ^_^
~Neshomeh, who should have studied this stuff more; then she could do it herself.

'Sides, at least if she finds it she'll realise that deadly nightshade does not help with gunshot wounds, and that's something you really NEED to know :) (I realise it's unlikely they think it would help in real life. Still, "it's a cartoon" only covers so much in the way of biology failure.)

They probably can't take every bit character that comes in, 'cause they'd be swamped, but if the recruit can't function properly without intercession, then yeah. Like all PPC "training," though, it can be somewhat hit and miss. It probably depends on whether the agents bringing in the recruits think to take them there, too. We all know how much the Marquis and the SO care about the agents' well-being as compared to getting bodies in missions. {= )
... In other words, whatever works best for your story can probably happen. Like Cassie said, I've adopted the department, so if you've seen everything linked from my site, you've probably seen the vast majority of what's taken place there. (If not, I want to know about it!) I do invite anyone who wants to write stories there to go for it. Just let me know if you want to borrow any of my characters.

So glad you liked it! I think there's all of one other out there, so it's not unusual for people not to have read them. And of course you can claim him; I certainly wasn't going to do anything with him. I look forward to reading the scene when you get around to writing it.
In the third paragraph of Analysis and Conclusion of Results, you say that Suethors have little to know actual grasp of biology
-Winces- Did I really do that? -Checks- Yes, yes I did. The shame. Thank you so much for pointing it out. (And everything else, by the way.) Very obviously I need to step up my search for a consistent second pair of eyes.
Ah yes, the table. My main problem is that I don't know any HTML, and so depend on the formatting of the web host. I need to go back and play around with it to see if I can get to the actual code. So glad you liked it! The bickering five-year-old effect is the one I was going for, so it's good that you picked up on it. And I've always thought that the personalities of agents conficlicted greatly with their jobs, so exaggerating that was fun.
Ooh, I hadn't thought of that. That would indeed be funny. Especially for CADs and things, which go on missions with the agents.
Thanks for pointing those things out. I know that I have a tendency to start all my sentences the same way, and I try to avoid it, but I'm still working on it. Clearly I need to work harder. -grins-
