*pokes*
We're not going to go insane just by looking at you or anything, are we?
Do tell about these obscure, little-inhabited fandoms. I'm a member of a few myself, and I can't help but wonder if we have any in common. I would be especially thrilled to know another PPCer who's into Farscape.

2. Only vaguely, and I won't embarrass myself by guessing.
3. Nope. See above. I do, however, use "bugger," and I am well aware of what it means.
On a side note, does "smeg" sound particularly disgusting to anyone else, or is it just me associating it with a particular substance beginning with it and ending in -ma?

RL notice; also looking for beta(s) by

So, um, I don't have an Internet connection at home right now. And probably won't for a couple of weeks, maybe more, depending on how things go. I don't plan to vanish entirely, as there are a couple of places nearby where I can gank a free connection (which is what I'm doing now), but my activity will definitely be curtailed for the duration.
That said, I'm calling on my fellow Permission Givers to step up. hS I know is having computer troubles, and I know Araeph is around--but Dann, Laburnum? You guys are out there, aren't you? I'd appreciate it if you guys would help keep an eye on that FAQ thread down the Board, not to mention the History article that it's spawned already.
THAT said, if it happens that we need/want more PGs around, I nominate Sedri and Trojie. Yes, I know you have said you don't want it. I don't care. In fact, that's partly why I think you'd be good choices. {= p But it's up to the Board as a whole to decide what to do with this, if anything.
On a completely different note, I hope to need a beta-reader or two for a Derik-and-Earwig mission pretty soon. Knowledge of canon is not particularly necessary, but it's set in a Super Smash Brothers fic in which the OC is a huge Gary-Stu, and he drags Harry Potter along for the ride. It's pretty short by my standards, since very little actually happens in the fic. Any takers?

No I haven't been watching the LotR movies, why do you ask?
Anyway. People are much too worried about whether or not they're worthy these days. If you know about one thing, you're absolutely qualified to talk about that one thing. You don't have to be here a certain length of time or read a certain amount of material in order to be "qualified;" you just have to know what you're talking about when you choose to talk. {= )

Yeah, letters are reserved for Jay and Acacia. You can have letters IN the RC number, just not as the first character. The only exceptions seem to be letters that stand for numbers, like i and e.
The list can be viewed on the Wiki, but you have to make your request to Araeph on the original LiveJournal copy or here on the Board.

3. Sometimes, but not very often. I use 'bugger' more often than 'sodding'.

It kind of sums up the general unoriginality that plagues these types of characters.

Anyway, hi. Have a softnose laser. Very handy when trying to dispose of Mary Sues quickly.

1) I'm in the northeast U.S., though not too far north.
2) Yes. I know that word quite well, thanks to Harry Potter and the fanfictions that I've read.
3) I sometimes use it, but not very often.

I believe there's a list floating around somewhere, either on lj or the wiki or both, comprising all claimed response centre numbers thus far. I'm sure someone more sober than me will be along with a handy link shortly. SHould definitely be included in any sort of FAQ.

This one is a bit personal, but the idea is probably fairly universal.
Question: after having agents approved (in the distant future for me, but oh well), are there rules for creating RCs? Basically, can my agents inhabit RC number ZZ9-plural Z-alpha, or are letters reserved for Jay and Acacia?

1) United States, near Boston.
2) Yes. Bit of an interesting story how I found out. I was reporting a Suefic in the PotC Mary Sue report, and I happened to mention this typo the Suethor had made. She had intended to write "sob." The line ended up being:
Mr. Gibbs began to sod uncontrollably.
Oh, the images. :)
3) No. Ever since 2) happened, I could never bring myself to use it without breaking into loud peals of laughter. Oh well!

Yes, I tend to use it when I'm annoyed with someone. Smeg is another good word. or Flargnogg. (you have to be creative when working with small children who delight in repeating words they aren't meant to hear.)

1) Colorado, USA.
2)I am indeed. Yay obsessions with Harry Potter, Dr. Who, and British relatives. (Not obsessions with said relatives. Possession of.)
3)Not often, though I may start using it more often. My current curse words of choice are 'bloody,' 'gorram,' 'jesus h. roosevelt christ,' and various canned and usual ones. And, of course, 'merde' and 'scheisse.' Though, come to think of it, I have been known to tell the Evil Brother to sod off.
Here endeth my pointless rant concerning my use of profanity.

And only after we'd done a fair number of missions did I actually stop and think 'WHOOPS!'
So yes, not recommended! And I very probably should have got a large slap on the wrist for that one. I'm still kind of waiting for it to turn up, actually.

I was going to start a system, but got called away. Perhaps missions should be filed by author? And department, and fandom? As in, a DMS mission I wrote for Wicked would be tagged:
author: sedri, fandom: wicked, deparment: dms
Something like that? And then additional tags for community notices, the TIANATDITPPC, and so on? I'll go with that for now and make changes later as need be.
