OT: Limiting Godly Powers by

Within my crossover, which many have probably heard me tlaking about at one point or another, eighteen individuals are granted powers that place them over many gods, but underneath the Universal Gods who created and control the Universe. Each of them, in addition to their mortal weaknesses and strengths, has absolute control over one element, and in the case of three of them, one element and the ability to warp the fabric of time and space.
My question is this: How do I make them seem powerful enough without it looking too overboard? An example would be one of them who can control energy (Think lasers, Harry Potter spells, etc) being capable of blocking the laser beam from the Second Death Star with her powers.
It just has me slightly confused, about how to impress it on the readers, but not overdo it. The scenario mentioned above, and like scenarios, would rarely happen, if at all, but still...

I saw your FFN account, and I think I might have seen some of your posts here back when I was still just reading the Board.
Anyway, I wouldn't mind being interviewed. I'm always online at about 5-12pm GMT+8. butanokaabii on Gmail (and, by extension, Gtalk). *steals Gtalk address*

There's been a veritable Boarder flood recently... Anyway, it's pretty cool to have the oldbies visit - or, hopefully, stay for a while longer.

It's still a great and very funny MST, so that's fine. GDocs' editable-ness is a Very Good Thing.

I'm guessing it was pretty fun. Did anyone try to record at least part of the 'fic readings? It would be a good way to kill time, that's for sure.

The only effect Legendary Badfics have on me is that they induce pure cold fury, so that won't be much of a problem... Now, the only thing I'm having trouble with is what I should wish for and how I should pay for it.

Every girl at my school is wearing that t-shirt. Gah. Everyone was telling me all about Twilight and how much I would love it, because it is about vampires.
It sucks and blows.
There's already lots of Suefic for it, according to my friend who likes Twilight fanfic-basically they replace "Bella" with their own name.

... I wouldn't hold your breath for the next year. We may re-open apps later, but currently we're overflowing. Sorry. To make up for it, which is your favourite canon character? We'll show them doing something cool.

Nice, you have a high level of squick-resistance. by

If I could find links to all of those 'fics, I'd get around to reading them right away. I really should read every Legendary Badfic at least once...

I actually kinda like the Inheritance trilogy. Notbecauseoferagonheisthebiggestgarystuinexistenceyegodsandlittlefishes. But have you read some of Angela's lines? "Watch out for ferrets!" Isn't it always the minor characters who make a story interesting?
