This is a fun excuse to fantasize about wandering off to places where all the tricky complexities involved in actually doing so are massively handwaved by plotholes!
More seriously, those are good questions, and you're welcome to answer them as you see fit. (For example, if you tossed in a language and cultural barrier, which would probably be an issue realistically, you'd have an interesting contact story like that one "girl falls into Middle Earth" goodfic whose name I can't remember at the moment.)

I mean, come on, it's the crossroads of a number of my all-time favorite franchises! I'd get to meet a lot of my Nintendo heroes in person and it'd be wonderful, at least until I start to miss home of course. Sure, I might end up becoming a spirit thanks to Galeem, but if it means I can be equipped to Pit and help him against the World of Light, I'll take my chances. :D
Honorable mentions include popping into the world of The Incredibles for a week, if only for a chance to interact with Violet without my own messed-up author desires warping her OOC, and visiting Jurassic World, though I'd rather not stick around that one for long because as much as I love dinosaurs and such, I'd probably die like anyone else would once the inevitable breakout happens. :P
Seriously, this is a wonderful idea, and I hope you don't mind me asking this same question to other online communities I'm in! It'd be fascinating to see which worlds the people I know would want to be in, if only for a day. :)

I think I'd have to go to Pern. Post-Thread, if you please. Not just because Thread is dangerous, but because I'm curious to see how the world is getting on after a few generations or so after AIVAS.
I might try to join the Harper Hall (in whatever form it evolves into), I might be able to swing a dragon-ride pretty easily if some of them are career couriers now, and I would definitely stay however long it would take to Impress a fire-lizard. {= D
... Man, the more I think about it, the more I want to see and do and learn. This is a great idea. ^_^

I don't think you understand. by

What concerns me is not the original mistake. You already apologized for that, and we understand.
What specifically concerns me, and I think I speak for others as well, is whether or not you think women can be blamed for men acting on their (the men's) physical desires. That is how some of your words could be interpreted. Any words or actions based on that mindset would be out of line with the PPC's Constitution, which expects all members to take responsibility for their own behavior, and the mindset itself would be regarded by most if not all of us as unwelcome, because that kind of thinking is tied to misogynistic, victim-blaming rape culture.
I use those words not to accuse you, but to make sure you understand how serious this is. I don't get the impression that you actually believe that. However, your post was vague, and that's why I asked for clarification. I would like you to state your position clearly, so there can be no misunderstanding. Not only would it alleviate our concerns (I hope), but it would demonstrate your ability to respond gracefully to criticism and to choose your words with precision, which are both important skills. Please do not continue to ignore this request.

I feel like this thread is turning me into an anime character. Aaaa, sugoi~~~! °^_^°
So, because I'm a flake and forgot to add a thing or two, where would you suggest I drop a local food place (am currently researching Kanak languages to see if I can stick to the scheme of naming restaurants in the language of their cuisine) and an apothecary?
I was thinking about the latter because I followed the link from your description for the River Mueo, and I saw that <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melaleucaquinquenervia">niaouli trees were mentioned. I know of them because we sell niaouli essential oil in my office, but parts of the tree are also used locally for remedies and other things, and that's Relevant To My Interests. {= ) Also, the trees are very pretty.

Look, I made a big misinterpretation of my own beliefs. I took a certain principle and ran with it. I interpreted it too literally, as I am unfortunately inclined to do, and took it to heart.
And then, on top of that, I accidentally phrased it in a sexist way.
I have talked to some people who know more about this subject than I do and I apologize for my mistake. I recognize my error in both interpreting the belief and expressing it. I won't do it again.

Thanks. And I'm glad it's interesting so far!
I mean, there are related topics I can go on about for a while without doing much research unless I want to get super detailed or talk about the aspects outside of my personal experience/past studies, but this (how it works with age) just...isn't one of them. That's how it goes.

I should really track down some earlier ones and expand this thread with them...I've been doing this occasionally for kind of a while by now. I think what stymied me before when it came to posting them on the Board was getting in the context--but I think now I see how to do it a bit more easily.

The answer to that is...well, long, honestly, and necessitating a little research, which is why it hasn't happened yet.
From what I've seen, it does change for boys at the time of their bar mitzvah; for girls it seems to be ridiculously young? Mind you, that was from a quick glance at Wikipedia, of all places. I'd like to go looking on more specialized websites before stating that that is in fact the way the law was drawn up. I'd also like to find out how it's handled among people who actually follow it today, though even there I expect to find variation--ever heard the expression "two Jews, three opinions"? Yeah, that often holds true, particularly in matters of religious law. That's probably one main reason why we don't have an equivalent of the Pope--while there are rabbinical councils and chief rabbis and the like, they're often localized in some way. There is definitely no one rabbi who can speak for (or make laws for) every practicing Jew in the world. I'm not even sure the newer streams of Judaism (Reform, Conservative, Reconstructionist, etc--as far as I know, Reform is the oldest, having started in the 1800s) listen to one main association of rabbis. Could be wrong about that, though.
At any rate: more research needed, but for boys, at least, I think the bar mitzvah is the point of change. I also wouldn't be surprised if a version or two mirrored it for girls nowadays. Bar/Bat Mitzvah is definitely a turning point--officially, you're an adult at that point. What that means in practice in today's world, where thirteen isn't considered particularly old, is that now you're responsible for observing certain mitzvot (commandments)--fasting on fast days if you have no health problems preventing it, lighting holiday candles (generally for girls), wearing tefillin during prayers (generally for boys), etc. I was given my own set of candlesticks for my bat mitzvah, for example; before that, I think I'd often stand with my mom when she lit hers, maybe even sometimes light one of them? What I'm more sure of is that if my mom was away on Friday night (infrequent, but sometimes happened), my dad and I would often each light one candle. And I'll stop before I go off on a tangent of how many candles people light and why (short version: some traditions have you lighting one for each child, which can make for a lot of candles and is very pretty).
So...yeah, I guess that's my response to that particular question for the moment. Will add if/once I get around to doing more research, since I haven't run into this aspect of it personally too much--not enough to say anything beyond "yeah, I started wondering once I had slightly less small male cousins, but never quite asked", anyway.

I wasn't completely sure whether it was serious or not--but even if you hadn't meant it seriously, someone else could have decided it was something they wanted to support, so I went with the instinct to say something. Apology absolutely accepted, I promise; sorry it took me a couple days to get to saying this. (Busyness happened, and exhaustion resulted.)
