As I don't know anything about any of the continuities involved, I've got no way of judging what - if anything - they're doing wrong. From my point of view, it looks as if you're being pessimistic and assuming it's all going to go wrong without giving any reasons why it makes you feel that way.
OK, that's not quite fair. You menyioned something about hybrids or something, but this is a crossover. In story terms, is there any good reason why (for example) scientists from one universe couldn't use advanced techniques from all the different universes to create new, previously-unknown hybrids of creatures from another universe? (OTOH if the hybrids just somehow magically exist, with no explanation, then yes, it is bad. But until the story's written, there's no reason except pure pessimism for assuming that.)
