Basically I go by all of two handles on the 'Net. And don't feel rushed. Mostly just put this out there to get people thinking. ^_^

What Makes a Bad Parody? by

I have a red link in a wiki article I need to fill. We have a page for "parody fic" and "department of bad parody", but nowhere can I find a description of what, exactly, makes a bad parody fic bad! I have got a page started now that basically says "Well, bad parody is parody fic that's badfic," but that's not good enough for me.
So what's your opinion? What makes a bad parody? General badfic characteristics would be present, of course, but what is it about parody specifically that can go the most wrong?

You know, you're at least the second person I've shepherded over from dA. It's an interesting thing.
Anyhow, since you're here, this is your honorary first poke. *pokes*
I assume you've read the Original Series as well as Da Rules, but just the same, do check out any of the links you may not have seen yet in the See Also section of this page.
Incidentally, that is the most interesting introduction I've seen in a long time. It's too bad you missed the PPC Badfic Game; Agent Argent would have been awesome on Fanfic Land. Well, there's always next year. ^_~
Welcome!

Ah, so you're DawnBlueWings. I was a bit confused. Thanks for the devwatch, though--I shall return it forthwith.
I like the idea of your challenge. I don't know if I'll be able to participate right now, but I'm sure I can manage eventually!
Cheers,

Elemarth jumped onto an ypur. by

She grabbed its blue fur with one hand and pulled out an explosive with another, looking for a spambot.
There was one trying to break into a building. "Let's get it!" she shouted. The ypur lumbered towards it. Elemarth threw one of the explosives at it, and it blew up to scrap metal. The ypur tossed a few remains aside, and they hunted for another.

...but if there's no mini already listed for the Prince of Persia continuum, then I suppose that if you were to claim it (which you can do freely before your newbie-month is up) then you would do the honors. There's no real requirement for you to consult the Board just because you're making a Minis (unless you really, really want to.)
Just a few notes on making Minis, if you don't want to; they're usually minature versions of things that are normally very, very large, it's preferred that they're specific to that canon only (i.e. no mini-Dragons or mini-Trolls), and they tend to be ugly/scary things to start out with but then become almost sickeningly cute by the sheer virtue of being small.
Well, that's enough out of me. See you around, SttQ.

Are those...actual flashpatches? As in real-life, physically existing, sew-on flash patches for the departments?
...
AND an idea that, if fully fleshed out well enough, could be worthy of confirming you as a true Boarder once your month is up?
...
Damn. I mean, seriously, damn. I just find that so cool that I've completely forgotten what I was going to give you. I mean...damn.
Okay, I've definitly overused the word damn. Ne'er mind.

Agent Laburnum herself is quite big, but I'm not sure my drawings get that across properly:

Oh yeah, this fic gives us at least four new minis, to wit, Kaileeena, Kailleena, the Pirnce and Shadi.
What kind of creatures should they be? Sand Crows? Could make for an interesting discussion.

Okay, it's up there. I can hardly wait to see the mission for this baby.
By the way: yesterday, after reading... it... I simply did not have enough energy left to look at the author's profile page, but I have done so now. If it has been updated correctly, he (yes, he!) can't be more than eighteen right now, which means he was about thirteen when this thing was written.
An excuse for the piss-poor quality of his work? Not in this multiverse. If anything, it ups the fic several notches on the creepiness scale.

I've done some drawings like that myself - sketched my own body accurately from photographs. I heartily agree with you - it's so silly that every figure drawn is tiny. This Must Change.
So I'll do my best, Rosie. Good challenge :)
