I really loved "Eighteen" and have to agree with most of the points about Twilight goodfics -- they are usually about character development, and not focused on that ultra-shimmery main couple. "Eighteen" actually gave me the jitters a bit. I'm moving on to "The Paper Doll Kindergarten" next.
I read Twilight because my friends told me to read it so I could bash it better, and honestly I'd never read it again (though I did skim Breaking Dawn several times as a twisted black-comedy *think of the MST possibilities* guilty pleasure), and I actually dismissed the whole Twilight fanbase as inane. This is the first time I've noticed, actually, that though the main Twilight plot is actually super-saccharine, the characters and setting make for millions of dark little subplots that could lead to good writing.
*wants to know all those subplots*
The whole Renesmee/Jacob idea has been entirely changed for me now.

From a Muse-user by

There's no real definition for an FF.net muse. It can be anything from a favorite canon character, to a real-life significant other, to a co-author or friend who gave them a really good story idea via IM (I'm partial to this one). Sometimes, it's even used to refer to the story idea itself.
What would be really impressive is someone identifying exactly which Greek muse is inspiring them in their current fic. :D

Question: If the summary is in Vally-girl speak, and it promises Sue/Canon love interest (sometimes with the phrase "Try it out," when we most certainly don't want to)...then the Sue is going to be a Vally-girl.
*shudder*
A sick part of me actually wants to read a fic like that and MST it.

I've never gotten so many *interesting* presents since...well, I'm hard-pressed to think of a time when I got *interesting* presents, period. Does the Mary Poppins carpetbag come with "deceptively light weight" setting?
Thanks to the people who left me links to the Wiki! I didn't know there was a wiki until now, and am happily reading Sedri's "Mission Writing Guide."
So...now I shall muck about and report badfics. Rose V. is back in training!

Rose V. is Rosaline Capulet (She's a Capulet...do you see a pattern with Romey-boy here? Death wish much?), cousin of Juliet and first "love" of Romeo Montague. I'm going to hang out "in training" here in the PPC before I pursue my spin-off further, but yeah, it would be fun to see her kick some butt. I actually have always wanted to write something with her in it, so when I discovered the PPC series (Team Phoenix especially), I ripped her out of the Shakespeare-verse and now she's slowly going insane.
:D
I shall name the guinea pig Rover. Rover the guinea pig. Now the issue is how to stop my cheetah from eating him...

I am reading the Wiki, and I have read several of the spin-offs (Faves include DOGA, Dept. of Technical Errors, and Bad Slash w/ Trojanhorse and Soul.) I won't continue my spin-off until I am fully acquainted with the quirks of the PPC. *scouts honor*

I graciously accept your chatroom linky! I'm getting more presents than Christmas. I like it here already. :D

I've been lurking around FF.net LOTR section (I'm active for FullMetal Alchemist mostly.) and Legolas/OC is maybe a large third, but not half, nowadays. I actually have to LOOK to find fics to shoot down! (Maybe the fear of the PPC has worked?) But anyway, I won't continue until I've been a month on the board, as I'd like to follow DA RULZ. :D
I gratefully accept your pendant.

Fuzzy things help alleviate the insanity.
I read your spin-off, and it looked pretty good to me. So...Rose is actually from the Shakespeare plays? Awesome! Is she Rosaline, the girl with whom Romeo was in love before Juliet and whom the audience has never seen? If so...that's great! I'd like to see her get some of her own back.

I reckon Amy is, but in a Martha kind of way. You know, unrequited love that the Doctor will never pick up on. After all, why was she so willing to forget about her wedding day to go travel the Universe?
*thinks* That's not helping. Oh well. Point is, he doesn't fancy her.

I haven't followed the comics that much, but I'm sure there's a long history between the two that soured the relationship.

I'd have to disagree (about the Batman caring, not the Scarecrow being awesome), although I think it varies from writer to writer.
If Batman does not care what happens to those he captures, then why would he bother capturing them in the first place? Why wouldn't he just become the DC's version of the Punisher and off all of his foes? After all, his ultimate end goal is to ensure that what happened to him (his parents' deaths) does not happen to anyone else. It would be so much easier to do that if all the criminals are dead. Why bother being bound by a moral code if it stands in the way of your ultimate goal? He has the moral code because he cares, because he must care. Otherwise he's no better than the criminals he fights.
Besides, there are quite a few stories where Batman is shown to be sympathetic towards his rogues (again, varying from writer to writer and medium to medium). The BTAS episode 'Heart of Ice,' for example, has Batman react with horror to the apparent fate of Dr. Freeze's wife and later express his sympathy to the villain in person. One could argue that Batman exaggerated those emotions to try and manipulate Freeze, but I would disagree.

I'd say he's likely not interested in her that way, since it seemed he was pretty willing to take her as the eightish year old girl along as a companion for a bit there before shooting over it terribly.
There's also the marriage thing.

^^ Awesome to meet you!
That said, we kind of ask for people to stick around here long enough to be known and stuff before they write spin offs.
We've a <a href="http://ppc.wikia.com/wiki/PPCWiki">wiki here, which has handy articles on permission and a copy of the list of Spin offs we have, beyond the ones available on Miss Cam's site.
So er yah!
*flees*
Oh, and we also have a chatroom that you are welcome to make yourself comfortable in, evil couch and Bronwyns aside. (This offer is also to all others interested for that matter.)
