I don't think so for him, barring intervention of some sort. The psychic residue from his encounter with Dr Destiny making the neurolyzer less effective, maybe.
DCAU Batman doesn't quite reach the God-like levels certain other Batmen do.

Picture this: Batman being rescued from a plothole by two agents. Rather than remaining shellshocked by most characters, he promptly asks what TOOK them so long. The agents' expressions would be *priceless.*
Okay, comic book geek equivalent of a Chuck Norris joke, but you have to admit...

Which Batman? There's a bunch to choose from. Early Golden Age "I shoot people with Guns" Batman wouldn't be able to and neither would Modern Age "Greatest Detective" Batman. Movieverse Batman wouldn't either.
Late Golden Age/Silver Age "I fight clown powered apes" Batman would able aware of the PPC due the inherent chaotic and somewhat fluid nature of reality for him. Frank Miller's Batman would too, because Frank Miller writes Batman as the single most perfect human ever to walk the earth.

But assuming that everything in the mission goes smoothly, he shouldn't be tipped off. Since missions rarely go smoothly though...

Would it be funny if he knew? by

If you can use him knowing for comical (or dramatical) effect in a story, go for it.
Greatest Detective alone is probably not enough. There are other characters that can contest for that title (Sherlock Holmes). But being a detective is not a good explanation why he would be able to see past the SEP field or be able to withstand the neuralizer flash. But if you can explain that reasonably enough, go for it.

Question involving Batman by

Would Batman be among the canon characters who are aware of the PPC, due to his being the World's Greatest Detective?

Yeah. I think it's from FF.net. by

I've had a few occurrences where that nasty little bug has come up. My computer has the McAfee system, which blocks trojans automatically. They still manage to get through security and try to download crap onto the computer, though...and I try to click out of the webpage as soon as possible to minimize the damage, but I'm not sure if that works.
I commiserate.

Just finished the Niece by

Just finished The Niece - the real test for sueness will probably be in the second story, but a few comments before I move on:
1) The second sentence has a word mismatch. "And for the past week or saw, First Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye had not made a peep about it, not minding the Colonel's constant absences."
2) The writing is a bit clumsy all around but nothing particularly bad. You're probably aware of this as an older work.
3) The 'reveal' is a bit much. Hawkeye and Mustang wouldn't spend so much time revealing the facts to the group, particularly since they just admitted to stalking him for so long. They'd be indignant and probably wouldn't reveal much information past "this is the Colonel's Niece."
In particular, you shouldn't mention her parents' death in this story. It adds nothing to the narrative and seems out of place in the light-hearted comical tone. Save the backstory for later.
Otherwise, fun read. I particularly liked the shameless music suggestions. They really made the sleuthing scenes.
*goes on to read second fic*

Virus on FF.net (Sort of OT) by

Hey all,
I'm wondering if anyone else has picked up a particular type of Trojun while surfing FF.net? It is a rather nasty one which calls itself things like XP Total Secruity, or Vista Secure Protection 2010.
It bypasses your regular security programme (although a good one will deal with it), and if your PC allows it to it will change settings to disable your firewall, and start up with your PC. Also it flashes up messages telling you that loads and loads of malware has been found on your PC.
It's nastiest trick however is that it redirects your .exe files (i.e the stuff on your desktop) to its own server which then flashes up a message telling you that "this programme is infected" meaning you can't open stuff like Windows Media Player or any games or word processing programmes.
It also hijacks your internet and bars you from looking at any site except its own one, which then tells you to "buy this programme".
I've had three versions of this little sod now, and am getting rather sick of it. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I think that it is coming from FF.net, but I'm not 100% sure.

Yeah, it would be very weird if there was this towel following Fiyero around when he was getting beaten. I just read the fic, that's why the mention of the towel sparked gleeful moments for me. :)
Thanks again!

Jack117 has been banned from the chatroom- again and for the third and final time- for perverted and innuendo-tainted behaviors and suggestions at other members of the chat, as well as ban dodging.
This is on the board to let him know that he is not welcome in the chatroom any longer.

Sue Check? by

Hi! I'm more familiar with the PPC LOTR-side of things, but I was wondering if you could check some old fanfics I wrote for an anime. I have an OC in there. She's related to a canon character (but otherwise has no pairing with any of them), and is generally tolerated (if not loved) by the other canonicals.
Is she a Sue?
Her name is Lorelei "Rory" Mustang, niece of Roy Mustang from FMA. I've run her through the Mary Sue checklist, but I just want to make sure she's not being written as a Sue.
Her fics:
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3092938/1/TheNiece - In which she is introduced.
<a href="http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3493713/1/SnowWhiteandTheEightDwarves">http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3493713/1/SnowWhiteandTheEight_Dwarves - Story within a story, and very much a shameless parody.
Thanks! Concrit will be appreciated (though I have to admit I may sniffle and cower on occasion).

I think the author of the essay must've been someone whose friend got PPC'ed or Sue-shamed somehow. Mary Sues aren't female empowerment characters -- often they act shallow and vapid and replace strong female characters.
I can't say anything that hasn't already been said. All I can say is this: I've written rants when someone gave me hard crit. Long-winded rants, sometimes. This piece of pseudo-academia, though, takes the cake. It's giving a mature mask to an otherwise immature reaction. Mary Sues are unacceptable. In fact, sometimes the Sues are bullies in their own right.
I only wish I'd discovered the PPC boards sooner, so I could have given my two cents in the heat of this battle. Right now, I have to settle for comfortably smouldering.

That was Dick in one of his whiny phases... by

He goes through a lot of those. There are other times when Dick and Bruce are actually quite sweet together. And going into other Robins, Tim especially is devoted to Bruce. I mean, he alienated all his friends and went on an odyssey around the world because he thought there might be a chance Bruce was still alive.
Have you read Identity Crisis? A strong argument for Bruce's actually caring about the "Batfamily" could be formed solely from the way Bruce comforts Tim at the end of that story.
