I could probably help out, since there's always the Wiki and these boards for the parts I don't know, and as you say any contribution will be looked over by more experienced editors anyway.

In something of a tricky spot... by

So I'm sporking this Star Wars/everything crossover in which Obi-Wan Kenobi is actually Legolas in disguise for...no apparent reason. My question is: what do I do? Will they become two separate characters once the canon reverts to normal, or will I need to do something special? I don't recall seeing this in any other mission, so I don't exactly have any guidelines to go off of. Ideas?

I'm really glad that you enjoyed it! I hope that the somewhat nebulous descriptions aren't a problem for anyone. I find that I like to be able to create my own mental pictures more than trying to match them to someone else's. Besides, if I try to describe much more than the minimum required for the storyline, I wind up spending a Mary Sue-length paragraph on the landscapes. Practically everything is better than that.

Agents Derik and Earwig will no doubt attend, if only because Earwig wandered in at random and Derik came after him in the hopes of conducting damage control. But DO be sure to put any valuables above 5 feet from the floor. And bolting them down and lighting them on fire wouldn't hurt, either.
Derik: Flaming Denethor? ... All right, I'll bite. Serve Earwigputthatback it up! Not like my face can get much more burned than it already is.

Um. Sort of. by

The thing is, we lack people who feel qualified/willing to write the chapters, and the two of us who were on the original Manual Team can't do it by ourselves. We were actually discussing it not too long ago and had a couple of volunteers, but then there's the issue of organizing the effort. And... well, frankly the thread fell off the Board, so that kind of ended it at that time.
But eventually we'll probably do something about it. And of course, any and all help would be greatly appreciated. You don't actually have to be all that qualified. For instance, since you just got through the Original Series, you know the basics and therefore are perfectly qualified. If there happen to be details that came later, either I or my editor-in-chief, Huinesoron, will notice and add it in. {= )
Also, the Manual has an e-mail address: ppc.manual (at) googlemail (dot) com. Yes, that is googlemail, not gmail. Please send any articles there. We may not check it right away, but at least that way anything Manual-related will end up in one place.

Any baby bird. Actually, any bird period, to be honest. Owls, emus, hornbills, seagulls, pigeons...but not cassowaries. They're just scary.

My cute buttons are probably all baby mammals. Even human babies, even though I don't think they're so cute after I have to take care of them for a few hours. Ah well. They're cute for an hour or so, depending on their mood. My other cute buttons are also some canon couples and even some non-canon couples. (Like how I find the canon pairing of LotR's Sam and Rosie very cute and how I find the non-canon pairing of Neville and Luna from the Harry Potter series also cute as well. I actually probably still like the non-canon pairing simply because I used to think it was canon.)
What other things do I find cute? Ladybugs, pandas, stuffed animals, Zero from "Nightmare Before Christmas", and I could probably go on forever here.

Puppies and kittens snuggled up together. Or two people snuggled up with puppies and kittens on their laps. Is this the first time someone has said "Thanks for the mental image" sincerely?

I do believe the only thing I see as cute are the Vocaloids, namely Miku Hatsune.
Ive got a bit of a fanboy complex, I must admit.
But I just can't help it . . .
Great . . . now my buttons are all over the floor.

I think they're so adorable!
People snuggled up together is also cute. Several of my WIPs have characters in that sort of position, for various reasons - post-sex, collapsed after training, fallen asleep comforting each other. It's just so easy to make cute.

Interlude Plugs, and a Mission! by

So since I have kidnapped Meip for a little while, I have her here to write with me. Meaning I can poke her into writing like I can't when we're 300 miles apart.
So.
An Interlude, from both our perspectives:
Agent Rose/Ross
Agent Meip
And then, as Meip gets a miraculous thing called 'Sleep', Rose/Ross duck out to kill a particularly ungainly little fic.

Several of my friends despise cats in all forms, be they young or old.
Said friends are clearly defective. I wonder if there's a warranty...

I used to have an old-fashioned portable CD player with a button that upped the base. It had some unnecessarily long title like Dynamic Bass Boost System. I just thought of it as "that button that says DBBS and makes the music a little louder and lower."

Most baby animals fail to impress, but I have a soft spot for cats, and by extension kittens.
I don't usually go in for cute, though. Many of my friends have been very surprised to see my reaction to a kitten.

I have invalidated your results. Muahahaha!
Since taking that survey, I have read the original stories. All in one sitting with only short breaks for food. It was...longer than I thought it would be. Well worth it, though.

Some of the more expensive home theater systems out there have standalone amps/processors for the speakers, complete with their own remotes and options. Along with many other things, I'd like to know how many people have and use those kinds of features.

Done. Although my ignorance depresses me a little--I didn't even realize a significant portion of TVs could adjust the bass.
