I'm writing a short humor story based on the fact that I have a huge thing for demons and silliness. It's about a wizard who's a bit of a jerk, and he summons a demon to destroy his enemies, and things go rather awry. One of the characters is an undead crocodile. The thing is, the demoness is a pretty shameless self-insert, and I want to make sure she's not too much of a Sue. Her name's Vix. Anyone interested?

... Maybe. I'm kinda terrified, actually. I probably won't finish, which is okay; I know it will be crap, but I can suck it up and deal with that; it's just that I know I'll be a terrible person for the whole month, because I'm always a a terrible person when I'm working on a project. o.o
Also, I forgot about the whole thing until today, so I have only shreds of an idea. It would be set in my world, and might involve any of a few sets of characters from said world. Lately I've been thinking a lot about my Powers That Be--two in particular who don't get along. The one, Alaric, has trapped the other, Leofric, in mortal form, doomed to an endless cycle of living, dying, and being reborn, all the time conscious of what he ought to be, but unable to get back. Leofric obviously wants to get back, but there are complications with the mechanics of it. I'm not sure exactly what they are, but I'll figure that out. Meanwhile, there are all sorts of other troubles surrounding the two of them, since Alaric is basically trying to rule the world as a god and Leofric goes around calling bullshit on him every chance he gets, no matter who gets hurt in the process. These guys are starting wars.
... That all makes a lot more sense now that I've written it out. That's a first. Usually things in my head get lost in translation. o.o
I don't know if I'll enter officially, but if I go through with the writing, I'll probably want to talk about it incessantly. Who's on AIM or MSN who wouldn't mind being a sounding board?

And looking at the history...
It's been broken since Tawaki's edit on October 16th apparently. The revision before that (Araeph's) is fine.

Maybe the last person to update it screwed up a code somewhere.

This main page, I mean: http://ppc.wikia.com/wiki/MainPage (or <a href="http://ppc.wikia.com/wiki/PPCWiki">http://ppc.wikia.com/wiki/PPC_Wiki)
The first thing in it is: Darth Maul]]------------------------------------
followed by instructions on how to update, which is clearly meant for logged-in members, whereas the actual opening page is down below.
Maybe someone did this on purpose, but to me it seems wrong. I would think that editing instructions, if on the page at all, should be at the bottom.
Or have I missed something?

Redwall is an old favorite, Discworld is hilarious, and I follow Girl Genius on a per-update basis.

I shall make up for it by writing lots of itty bitty bits of fanfic. If I can come up with any ideas. Anyone else like Redwall, Discworld, and the webcomic Girl Genius (not in conjunction, though, that would be ... potentially very funny but nightmarish to write)?

School is trying to kill me, once again. I don't have time to write a novel, so the only place it could come out of is homework and study time, which would do Bad Things to my GPA.
Best of luck to everyone who is participating, though.
Hrm... I wonder if my final project for 360 would count? It's probably going to be in the 50,000 word territory by the time it's done...

NaNoWriMo Alert! by

What, seriously? No one has anything to say about this very special month? I'm first?
What is this world COMING to?
Okay, so for the uninitiated: NaNoWriMo, short for National Novel Writing Month, is an international contest to write a 50,000 word novel in thirty days! Specifically, the thirty days commonly and collectively known as "November" by most of the population.
So! Who all is going this year? Anybody up for trading tips, secrets, favorite distractions or lack thereof, NaNo usernames, anything? What are y'all doing for plots, characters, general context-related issues?

"I'll have to get you reading Vengeance Quest some day. Okay, I know most guys can put up with the occasional glomp, but ..."
"And furry-type guys get it more here, 'cos they're so cute and fuzzable!" Laburnum faux-squeed, clasping her hands and blinking her eyes overdramatically. She dropped the act and said "Seriously, he ain't happy about grabbiness."
Molly transferred her attentions from Stormsong to Kestrel, clambering over her shoulders like a monkey. "'Ello friend! Sorry Uncle Stormy don't like you. I don't fink it's pers'nal, 'e just finks all females 'cept me 'as cooties."
"MOLLY!" Foxglove gasped, trying hard to hide her amusement.

Cai blinked. "...It's not that funny..."

Susan? by

I'm not really into the Doctor Who fandom, but isn't Susan from Season 1 referred to as the Doctor's granddaughter? I understand that that has been named canon/uncanon by various people, but it seems like a viable choice even if it isn't realistic.
Maybe someone more familiar with DW canon could expand on Susan?

Kestrel had. With surprising speed, the ferret was standing beside the gray weasel with her arm slung over his shoulders, ignoring Molly.
"Ho, nice, somebeast else wot I can scare the bejeezus out of. Stormsong, I've wanted ter say this fer a long time now, but... wuz yer dad a baker? 'Cuz yew got a nice set o' bu-- yeowch!"
Adder had brought her broom handle down between the ferret's ears, effectively dislodging her from the uncomfortable-looking weasel. "Sorry about that."
"That's awright, mate," the dazed ferret replied.
"I wasn't talking to you."
Kieran was hiding behind Deuce, never having seen a gun go off before.

Laburnum pulled out a Bleepette. "See, these two teenage boys, Arcturus - that's me - and Hunter - that's Fox - get really sick of how stupid their peers are, so they set up a business where people pay them to assist with elaborate suicides. It's great fun."
"And now I do a happy gun dance!" Foxglove cheered, pulling out two handguns from the capacious pockets of her coat and prancing around with them.
"FOXGLOVE, NO!" shouted Stormsong, too entangled with the overexcited and frantically struggling Molly to stop Foxglove.
"Oh, don't worry, it's not like they're loa-"
BOOM! Plaster rained down from the ceiling.
"-ded?" Foxglove blinked and looked at the guns, and very slowly put them back in her pockets.
Stormsong sighed. "Remind me again WHY I remained friends with either of you." He caught sight of Kestrel and started to back away slowly, hoping she hadn't seen him.
