HP/SM cross over. It's the last year of Hogwarts for Harry and his friends, and there's a new transfer student from Japan, and a new evil is brewing at Hogwarts.

I thought orc was a word from Middle-Earth's languages. Very well, I suppose others can use it. But mithril is unacceptable and I can't understand why the Tolkien estate hasn't sued. Mithril should at least be under trademark.

Badfics for Gathering reading? by

Cassie suggested we bring badfics for a reading, a la the legolas by laura one. I thought we should ask which ones people think would be good.
I'm okay with pretty much anything as long as anything with strong bad language or sex scenes more detailed than the one in legolas by laura ("and then he raped her and then laura said 'go away you bastard'") won't end up on YouTube because my kid sister might see it, and then I would be in huge trouble. If everyone agrees not to put the squicky bits on YouTube, I'll bring the My Immortal drinking game from TVTropes. I think I'll also bring along the censored version of "Artemis' Lover" and "soulless shell" - they're from less well-known fandoms than Harry Potter, but they bear so little resemblance to their supposed canons that everyone will find them funny anyway.

They'll deride pretty much anything sci-fi, especially if it's military, as an Aliens ripoff. Especially in video games.

According to wiki, Tolkien started the modern depiction of orcs, yes. The name apparently comes from an Old English word for "demon". Have a look: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orc

Mithril shouldn't exist in any fandom without a place called Moria. It translates to 'Moria silver'. So why does Oblivion have mithril (which is nowhere near indestructable either)? Same goes for orcs. Weren't the orcs specific to LotR as well (not sure about this one)?

However, I'd likely still be more impressed by BioWare's trailer for The Old Republic. Damn, BioWare needs to start making films.

First of all, a big thanks goes to everyone who pointed out that I needed a beta. A Great Unclean One-sized thanks goes to Neshomeh, my beloved Permission Giver, who stepped up to the plate yet again to be that beta.
With the accolades given, I invite the PPC to... um... enjoy my second Starjeffry sporking. As so many of you pointed out I forgot to do last time, I'm warning you, this will not be pretty. Not for small children or decent human beings in general.
Thankfully, that's not us. We're Sue Factory-proclaimed evil, so let's get this party started! Hope you like!

Hello!
I'm new around here but a long time PPC fan. Thought I'd give a wave and hang around a bit and finally join up proper in the fight against canon desecration. So far I’ve been fighting the good fight through the art of sporking over at Deletrius and Scifi Sues (a much smaller sporking community where myself and a friend can poke fun at sues defiling our favoured canons.) My most highly loved canon is the new Battlestar Galactica closely followed by Mass Effect and Stargate.

I understand the first part of that maxim--that's why I have a hard time finding fantasy I like--but I don't know where the second bit comes from. I've read/seen a lot of original sci-fi, and the unoriginal stuff doesn't generally remind me of Alien(s).
