I know I'll still see you in that other Discord server, but . . . I'm sad I won't get to hear more from your characters any more.
I feel like there should be more to say, but . . . I just don't know what to.

Welcome, fans of the Protectors of the Plot Continuum and supporters of the Canon Protection Initiative! If you've got a story to plug, an opinion to share, or a discussion you want to join in, this is the place!
If you're looking for PPC stories to read, why not start with The Original Series – the missions of the famous assassins Jay and Acacia, the very first stories in PPC history. Once you've finished them, check out the list of Killed Badfic to find a mission you like the look of, or The Complete List of PPC Fiction to look up specific agents or departments.
Before you join the fun, there are some important links you should know about. Being familiar with these will save you a lot of hassle!
This list is also available as a Atom/RSS feed

"It is a goodlisome friend!" He gently starts to scratch the side of the goose's neck.
—doctorlit, 100% in character
I very foolishly confused adulthood with maturity for a moment there. Supernumerary is more adult than Luxury—but adults aren't always mature.
—doctorlit, hopefully more mature than adult
It spread its wings out to look larger as well, and honked at Cicada in an as if I'm going anywhere way.
Sure, drinking the stuff was apparently a bad idea, but that didn't mean splashing around was bad.
But no. She was expecting the trouble to come flapping from below, not behind. Thus, she is caught completely unprepared for the loud noise.
"EEK!" goes Neshomeh, startling so badly that she almost falls. Fortunately, her instincts to preserve her laptop and herself are strong enough to overcome the reflex to flail about trying to get away.
She freezes. She turns around carefully and stares wide-eyed at the goose. Geese are pretty big up close. She is not happy about being in the rafters with one, especially not this one that nearly gave her a heart attack, but she resists the impulse to make a remark that would be NS4M regarding upcoming holidays and traditional fare.
Instead, she says nervously, "So, uh... I've been wondering... do you know Agent Monty?"
She also looks for the quickest way to get down without breaking her neck.
I believe you. ^_^ I don't recall if any particular bit is based directly on any particular comment of yours, but I've definitely gotten the sense that the kids you watch are the sort of kid Henry is. It's affirming to hear, now and before!
(The part based directly on my niece is the part where Henry gets caught exaggerating his knowledge and tries to wriggle out of it by going "I don't want to tell you." Last year, she was "reading" Harry Potter by herself, and my attempts to have a conversation about what had happened in the latest chapter and what she liked about it went precisely nowhere. {X D Bonus of taking forever to finish this piece!)
I'm loving the mixed reactions to Nume.
I might write the story of Lux and Jenni meeting eventually, since I've now thought about it and figured out how it happened. We'll see. ^_^
Thanks!
~Neshomeh
In my opinion, Larfen would make a fine mod. Well regarded, and can handle a timeframe our current mod team aren't usually awake for.
I have an odd affection for Nume and his many trials. XD
So I guess I'm getting this started then?
Right, so my nomination is Thoth, and my reasoning is this: 1) He's well known. I think it's safe to say almost everyone is at the very least aware of Thoth, and that's a good thing. 2) He's fairly active, and seems to be happy engaging people in chat. 3) He's approachable. Personally I feel like I could go talk to him and be comfortable knowing that he'd be there to help. He's not scary, he's nice and friendly. 4) He's got a good sense of fair. While I'm aware Thoth has said that he would have a hard time monitoring the salt channels, I still fee like he's the sort of person who knows what's fair and is willing to see both sides of the situation and if he has a hard time dealing with the salt, well... 5) He's the sort of person that can delegate. Or at least, that's how I feel. And while this may come up more often than not in the salt chats, I feel like Thoth is the sort of person that knows when to back down or ask for help.
So TL;DR (I guess) I feel like Thoth is a well known, decently active person who is easy to approach and talk to who knows what fair means and has a good head on their shoulders which can allow them to help solve problems. But who also knows his limits and can ask for help when the situation is more than he can handle.
Thus I nominate Thoth as the next Mod of Discord.
Nova P.S Apologies for the repitition, I've only just noticed it.
Sounds the trumpets and various alarums, for it is time to select a new mod for the PPC Discord!
This new mod will join Delta Juliette, Maslab, and Akrinor in being... chat-room janitors, if you will. The Discord has spent a good chunk of time discussing what makes a good mod, and I'll put up some of their suggestions here:
If you would like to nominate someone to be a Discord mod, please name them in a reply to this post and go over why they would be a good choice. Please do not nominate yourself. If you are nominated and do not wish to be a moderator, that's fine. Just go ahead and post saying so.
Some of you might be wondering why we need another moderator. What about me? Well, there's the thing. I have decided--after a great deal of contemplation--to step down as as the PPC Discord admin. My replacement for admin will be determined and selected some time before the end of the year.
It's been a long time coming, if you think about it. I'm not really a member of the community anymore. Not in the sense of 'being an active writer or RPer' or what have you. I haven't written anything PPC-related in what feels like eons. I haven't posted on the Board in what feels like longer (disregarding that recent bit of housekeeping). I'm grateful for my experience in the PPC for many reasons--my writing has improved, my ideas have gotten sharper, I've met wonderful people--but I think it's time for me to finally move on.
Thank you all so much for your time and attention. Catch you on the flip side.

Here are a couple of Harry Potter fics that handled events in a more rational way.

(Also love the Doctor Who fic, that was just adorable...)
The chair careens towards Cicada, and Cicada can't decide what to do. She could duck out of the way, but which way is the chair going? Would it be impolite to move? What if the chair moves, so they both move, and it's terribly awkward? Cicada is filled with the awkwardness of two people on a collision course, seemingly having forgotten that the chair is, in fact, non-sapient. The chair glances off Cicada's knee. Snapping out of the awkward zone, Cicada starts towards the Goose, spreading her arms in an attempt to intimidate the creature. "Rude! No! Out!" she proclaims.
The Bleepka fountain was indeed neat! And, if any Agents happened to be watching them (a perilous matter), a suspiciously simple affair.
The Goose honked a warning - don't drink the water or you'll forget things! - but made no attempts of betrayal.
It did, however, spot a mirror, and went honking off in that direction for a bit.
It has made it up to the rafters via plothole.
It looks around, trying to figure out what it could do from here? Maybe divebomb someone and steal their lunch? But then, it notices the woman on her laptop who isn't paying too much attention to her surroundings.
Being a horrible goose, it has one obvious response to this situation.
HONK!
(( For the record, I have not played the goose game either. I'm going off of some YouTube footage I glanced at yesterday, what I've heard from other people about the game, and a thin attempt at plausibility. And besides, this is a PPC goose, who knows what sort of unusual things it'll get up to ))
It kept an eye out for shenanagins and betrayals, but it could tell the other goose knew something neat, and decided to see what it was about.
and hides behind Cicada's chair. It tries to push the chair into her path with a HONK.
(( I'll leave the rolliness of the chair up to you, since it's (presumably) your chair ))
She hopes this will aid her in conducting some field research on the horrible goose. She plans to write a story about it, but has never played the goose game, and finds this to be something of an impediment. She wonders if watching that Game Theory video about the intelligence of the goose is really enough to go on. This goose seems smarter than the average goose, but can it, say, open doors, supposing they have a handle instead of a knob? This is important.
Neshomeh climbs up into the little-remembered rafters above the PPC Lounge with her laptop. She opens up a Notepad file and waits, hoping to make some quality observations before her battery runs out.
(( {= D ))
She even says so. Look, there she is now.
"Today I am going to cause problems on purpose."
What a rotter! I bet she hopes a horrible goose isn't going to mess up her plans to do that!
((For those unaware, "Today I am going to cause problems on purpose" is kind of a meme in the goose game fandom))
She removes the trashcan from the Goose's path and tries to hold it over the Goose's head, wagging her finger disapprovingly.
Another iteration of the goose flared its wings at the newcomer and honked loudly, trying to size it up.
(( Sure, there could be some interesting threadjacks or tag-teaming )) (( Lots of ways to add more goose ))
