I'm going to ask my scientist buddies and see... by

They'll probably know and can give me the rough basics behind writing a lab journal.
I'm also considering doing a lab-write up with all the stuff like Question, Procedures, Materials, Hypothesis, Data table...and so on.
Another idea I have is for the scientists trying to gather samples to "tag along" with various members from the Action Departments.
I'll get the first draft of what hopefully will become a DMSE&R mission up soon. ;]

I'm going to ask for Permission to write seperate "agents" for the DMSE&R. I've already had in mind what the labs are going to look like and how the missions/experiments will play out.
Yeah, Dr. Niamh was in the Alumia exorcism, and that was when I first got interest in this department.

Like many Infrastructure Departments, the DMSE&R tends to just get mentions in other missions. I believe there's an Agent from them in the Alumia exorcism, for instance, and I recall some from the macrovirus crisis. But there's no actual 'fics involving just them.
As to whether it would work? Well, it could, naturally. There is a tragic lack of actual Infrastructure stories (most are either an Action Agent visiting, an Inf Agent sent on an Action mission, or some sort of crisis -- the Intel reports may count as pure Inf stories, as well as Leto's General Store writings, and maybe the DIA stuff), and I've had various conversations about redressing that. Sadly, though, the life of a Finance Agent is dull and not worth writing about. DMSE&R, however, might be promising.

It's just...boring. I'm over two hundred pages in, and nothing of interest has happened yet. (In the meantime, I'm reading books for English class that get through a well-written, meaningful plot and good characterization in a hundred pages.) I'd DEFINITELY rather be reading fanfiction!

Gotten through the first couple of chapters-really, there's nothing of interest to report. Quite simply nothing of interest-at least horrendously badfic can keep you reading because there's something *happening*.

Perhaps I'll do it as a dream sequence ... by

Then have them wake up to discover he's been arrested in the Real World? After all, Trojie did her "personal real-person grudge" thing as an AU.
Besides, can we say we wouldn't want to see this snotrag fed to the Holder of the End, even if it was only a dream? (http://theholders.org - enjoy. Appropriate for Halloween.) Trouble is the only way to get past the Holders is to give them the password and accept the Object, and I think having an agent pair stuck with an object of ultimate evil in their response centre which slowly drives them into the non-useful kind of insanity would be difficult to write around ... Maybe they could sell it on Ebay.

It is in fact as bad as the first two, if not worse, and there a number of moments that made me say 'BWUH?!' at the top of my voice.
Yeah, it wasn't good.

he mentions that he's thrown in a reference to Doctor Who - something about a lonely god, I believe. I read that the first time, but when I read he'd mentioned he's put it in, I couldn't find it. XP

*hugs Leto* I envy your future wife. And I agree with you - I feel bad for all you guys who get blamed for things that you are in no way responsible for just because we're all hormonal and need to throw things. Poor you. Feel free to save this comment to post to my future husband for when I'm pregnant, because I'll deserve to have these words shoved down my throat.

Don't feel bad about feeling happy; this guy clearly deserved it. And I agree with hS about not writing about this idiot, but that doesn't mean you can't take out your anger in some *cough* creatively violent ways on whatever Sue your agents deal with next. *big smile*

First off, you don't sound stupid. Don't worry about that.
I've looked at the wiki, but it's not too helpful. Stub article and all. I don't think there's much known about it.
Why not throw out a short, rough suggestion of such a lab journal and see what feedback we can give? It should help to balance.

The Ironic Over-Power, I mean. Or it could be the walls themselves, talking - after all, they've been burnt, kicked and twisted by the will of agents for so long that they are BOUND to become sentient at some point.

Since it is, after all, HQ, the laws of reality don't necessarily apply all the time so much.
It could be HQ itself answering her, or her voice reverberating off of the concrit, which is what I thought at least some of HQ is made of, sparked some kind of reaction. Or there could be a telekinetic... being... wandering about, answering, or, as Artic said, could be a ghost.
Also, definitely, definitely up for a Gathering on the East Coast 'fore I go off to college. In fact, we don't have to wait until summer! :D But we can if y'all would prefer it. Whereabouts were you thinking-- maybe Boston? It seems like a good place for a meet-up. *crosses fingers* Anywhere in the North is easier for me, I'm right around the Hartford, CT, area, so Boston would be perfect. But other places are good, too-- I don't mind a trip up to two or three hours; past that, I might have to reconsider. Ideas, anyone?
