Unfortunately, since my school intranet has blocked Freewebs, I have to wait until I get home from school. But it's DONE. Like, actually DONE. Apologies for capslock, but it's like HFA II has updated - something I've been waiting for for a long time, while slowly dying of suspense. Well, for about six months, anyway. I'll comment again when I've read it. St00pid school computers... *wanders off muttering about what she'd do if she had access to the server*
*Apologies for any incoherency in this post. It's just it's my birthday in like six days and I'm excited about that as well, and now you've updated this, it's just...squee! 'Kay, done.*

That ending was brilliant, if you don't mind the pun. But now I'm antsy 'cause I wanna know what happened...gah! So so so so evil! And the bit with the ring...not surprising, recalling that essay, but still...
There are no words.
You are an evil, evil man.

I'm getting yelled at for laughing too loudly at the reading of 'legolas by laura'...but really, it's too damn funny.
"Well, all except the mind-numbingly long journey back to London, which got me into St. Pancras at 10 pm."
Is it bad that I read that as St. Pancreas? 'Cause that made me laugh even harder.
I really, really wish I could come to a Gathering. That would most likely make my life. XD

I must admit that I was never brave enough to read the original fic itself. You must have minds of adamantium. New recruits, we can always use those - and the outrrrrrrrrageous French orc was much-needed hilarity.
Eep! The ending!

Out of curiosity, who's signed up for voicing them? Unless you'd rather not reveal that stuff yet.
And, anticipating future awesomeness when it comes to the design portion: Please don't use my drawing on deviantART as a reference for Nume. Go with the written descriptions and even the dolls, because they are better. ^_^; I'm working on a new drawing of Nume, but I'm being very careful with it, so it'll be a while before it's done.
Ilraen could look a little more refined than in my drawing... it's a pretty boring picture. There are enough representations of Jenni around to give people a pretty good idea, though.

See, if the US had a better system of public transportation, Chicago would be perfect for me. Meanwhile, I enjoy delightful reports such as these. Keep it up, PPC!

Wow, that looked really epic. I must try to rabble up a gathering for us troublemakers over here in the US. We'll terrorize Washington DC!
Much thanks for making yet another fantastic report! Looks like you guys had great fun.

A DOGA plug... and it's been a long time coming. by

This mission has been in the works since the end of 2005. The first part was posted at the beginning of 2006, but the second half has languished in an incomplete state for two and a half years...
... until now. Ladies and gentlemen and Agents of all shapes and forms, I am proud to present...
... on behalf of Agents Dafydd Illian, Constance Sims and Terri Ryan (DOGA, DMS, DP)...
... the FINAL mission in the long (long long long...) story of the OLDEST member of the Department of Geographical Aberrations...
Celebrian: The COMPLETE Mission
Yes, it's dead. AT. LONG. LAST. And only the last quarter is new (most of the first section was taken up by Ithalond), but, you know what? It was hard work.

Agreed. I mean, it's fine to admire a good fanfiction, and if it inspires unique ideas that's even better, but the whole point of fanfiction, I think, is that it's your own take on an author's work. Not your take on a take.
I second your other point as well; suppose this was the first fanfiction you'd ever read for the fandom. You'd have a devil of a time trying to remember what was the canon and what the first fanfic's author put in there.
If it was based on a fic that was an AU to start with, that could get really confusing.

I love these reports. Vicarious living and all that.
It's too bad W_Monk, Cedar Copse and I never got around to writing up the Chicago report. And that WalMart lost me my photos. We went time-traveling and got harassed by Security Plants. And I'm pretty sure we all sang the Mary-Sue song together on the steps of the Natural History Museum.
... I don't suppose anyone is within a train ride of Philadelphia...?

But possible. It probably wouldn't be a standard mission, though; I imagine the agent(s) would get a specific debriefing from the Flower and told exactly what they could and could not do.

Yes, it's been less than a week since the Gathering took place, and already I have managed to produce...
The Report!
Featuring, as ever, a great many photographs, along with (a first for any PPC Gathering to my knowledge) a seven-to-eight minute video, kindly hosted by Youtube (and currently, for me, not working, but hopefully that's just my computer). No, I won't tell you what it is, stop asking and just go and read.
Anyway! That's what the Britons among you do with our free time; just think what you foreigners could get up to if you put your minds to it.
Thanks go to everyone involved -- those who attended, and... er... anyone else who needs thanking.
