What is this? This is the thread where we let our inner badfic writers have free rein. All PPC stories are technically fanfics of the Original Series - but they're all goodfics. That's clearly unreasonable - most fanfic of anything is terrible. So this is your chance to write the baddest of the badfics. Go nuts!

Who can I write about? Any agents currently in the PPC are open for you to mutilate. There's a Creativity Shield around ffW, so everything here is emphatically uncanon. Try to avoid using abandoned agents whose creators have left, and if someone asks in this thread that their agents not be used, please respect that.

Where do I post? In this thread, please. With ffW down for the forseeable future, I'm afraid there is unlikely to be an archive this year.

What name should I post under? You should come up with the badficauthorest name you can, of course! Take a look at some of our previous examples.

What sort of story should I write? A bad one! Obviously. But also one that's fun to read. Illegible ultra-typo stories are a bit boring after the first one, y'know?

Can I leave reviews? Emphatically yes - that's half the fun of the game! But do remember to leave them in character - and equally, remember that the flames you receive are not real flames. They're a game. Don't get upset.

Do I need a beta? Hahahahahahahaha. Don't be ridiculous. ^-^ What sort of badfic writer has a beta?

Do I need Permission? Again, what sort of badfic writer asks permission? (No. No you don't.)

Why are we doing this? Because it's fun! And traditional!

Others have stated the reasons for that already, both Scape's case, and the argument of having a clean record.

Expect more of a villain monologue from me. So few of the city's cops really care about what they're doing. About what I'm doing. The city doesn't care either, and never will, no matter how many villains you hunt. Why stick your neck out for them, for rain-soaked, useless heroism? It doesn't have to be this way. You're intelligent, skilled, determined.
But I'll leave it at that. When you're tired, when you're bleeding, when you've had enough of their apathetic, gawping faces as they shuffle away from questions about bribery and violence... you know where to find me.

(And I do mean that in the strictest-complimentary sense; I know I don't want her yelling at me! XD)

I'm not sure 'hissed' is the right word, here? Though I'm not sure how you'd best convey 'quietly yelped.' XD

I would probably figure out the meaning behind the lyrics but keep my mouth shut out of gay solidarity. I would definitely buy the record though, or drop by to listen whenever Moons sings it live.

*rubs eyes* Hufflepuff Sues? That's got to be a first, wow.

Vemi ran her nails over the floorboards, feeling the splinters snag under them[. . .] I know you meant the wood sort of just caught briefly but I was struck with the very unpleasant mental image of splinters being shoved under my fingernails.

Carrying on... everyone is dead now? What? What?



"Gasp!" shouted Shawna[. . .] *snickers*

And the entire assassination scene was just pure gold, especially with the agents just going nuts with their made-up spells.

That was a fun mission and I enjoyed reading it!

Picture the scene: it's spring 2004. Order of the Phoenix came out last year; Half-Blood Prince is still a year in the future. The Prisoner of Azkaban movie is coming a month from now.

And Agent Dafydd and Vemi are heading off on a mission.

For the timeline buffs among us, I've also updated Dafydd's timeline; this mission actually falls between the two halves of the 'Al and Death' mission (which have now been properly separated).

And yeah - at this point in time, so far as anyone knows, they're just a couple of normal human agents. ^_^

A proper fight scene is practically a calling card. I'd be a fan of skipping on the grappling, maybe adding swords in the mix somewhere instead? Because really, what's a lair without blades on display and conveniently at hand for fighting with. And swordplay works better with long one-take camera swirls than grappling.

And then of course we snog. Probably with at least one knife to a throat in the process.

September has always been when the Badfic Games are held, so I'd suggest if you want to make a month-long writing festival, it should be October.

Wow, I did not expect my Boarders' noir AU thread to gain this much momentum, but I love it, there are just so many amazing characters and ideas.

Which is why I thought we could use these ideas for something. If you folks are in, I propose a month-long writing event for anyone who likes crime fiction - sort of like Shipfest, but with different rules. The starting point would be for everyone to write a story featuring the character concept they came up with for themselves in the noir squad thread below, but of course this can be varied - you could borrow other people's characters or collaborate. I'll leave the specifics and the tone of the stories up to you, I just wanted to get this proposal out first, see if y'all are interested.

...since you're both heads of different criminal organizations, you could be rivals, or frenemies. With a ton of UST, of course.
Also, Cicada, if Phobos is our mob boss, are you his sister? Or are you with an entirely different crime family? (The plot thickens :P)
