... That Data already has some experience with manipulating the brain via the optic nerve. It's entirely possible that, not only would he be immune to a neuralyser, but he might recognize its function!

The PPC Wiki's Killed Badfic pages keep track of all the missions published so far if my memory recalls, so you should find your answer easily. Usually when you're not sure about something PPC-related, trying with the Wiki before bringing it to the Board is not a bad idea.

Pardon, but someone told me to ask something here.
The question is... Has someone already made a mission with this?

Depends on how OOC we're talking, exactly, but if there isn't a particularly heinous canon break and/or he doesn't need an exorcism (whether that works on him is another interesting question), I'd say that run-of-the-mill OOCness can be taken care of by a canon-snapback.

Assuming Data isn't the only one in the fic that needs fixing.

Probably can't neuralize him. But there are options. by

Here are a couple of things I came up with in the last few minutes:
1) It isn't Data, it's Lore. Or B-4. Or one of his other siblings (he has at least five brothers). Deal with them accordingly.
2) Computer Virus causing the OOC behavior. Get him to DoSAT so they can get that fixed.
3) Have you tried turning him off and back on again?

I think blaming the Estate is wrong. by

Tolkien himself sold the rights to The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. The Tolkien Estate doesn't have those any more! For the article to claim 'the estate has refused to allow the series to be set during any period other than the Second Age of Middle-earth' seems to be mistating the situation, and the original interview merely has Shippey saying the Third Age is 'off-limits'.
Some good news from the interview: the Estate has retained a veto over 'everything that concerns Tolkien'. Whether that means they can say no to the creation of Mârizo, secret mistress of Ar-Pharazon, or just that they can forbid Amazon from having her kill Tar-Miriel, is probably still an open question.

Neuralizers and Data from Star Trek. by

If, hypothetically, I were to write a mission that involved a fanfic set in the 'Star Trek' universe and Data was OOC.
Could the agents neuralize him? Does it work for androids?

Roster Round 2 by

So, I've been having another go at the roster and seeing what it can do. Here's some adjustments I've made:-
---
0-16 Generic Agent | MA6 ST3 AG3 AV7 | Jump Up, Fend | Normal: G | Double: ASP | 70,000 Gold
0-4 DBS Exorcist | MA6 ST3 AG4 AV7 | Tackle, Wrestle | Normal: GA | Double: SP | 90,000 Gold
0-4 DMS Assassin | MA7 ST3 AG4 AV7 | Dodge, Stab | Normal: GS | Double: AP | 100,000 Gold
0-2 DoSAT Technician | MA6 ST3 AG3 AV7 | Secret Weapon, Bombadier, Pass, Hail Mary Pass | Normal: GA | Double: SP | 110,000 Gold
0-2 ESAS Operative | MA8 ST3 AG3 AV7 | Block, Claw, Pro | Normal: GAS | Double: P | 120,000 Gold
Apothecary: Yes
Reroll Cost: 50k
Star Players: Human, Norse, Amazon
---
So, the rationale with this team is that you can control the field with your linemen and give your more esoteric positionals more breathing room. Fend and Jump Up is a very strong combination, allowing your players to prevent opponents from following up after a block and then letting them get up (if they get knocked down) and move their full movement allowance of 6 squares instead of paying the 3 square penalty to get up. Meanwhile, you have your Wrestle pieces to shore up the line of scrimmage, your Stab pieces for those times when you need to make a bad block or are stuck in place, your Secret Weapon pieces that can hurl explosives the length of the field, and a brace of dedicated blitzing pieces that have very high movement and can mangle high-armour opponents courtesy of Claw. It's a very versatile roster, all things considered, and it might be fun in a tournament setting. =]

If you like 80s pop culture, I recommend Ready Player One. I know the book it's based on is a bit... divisive, but the movie streamlines the story a bit and makes the challenges more interesting.
If you like anime movies, I suggest Studio Ghibli films like Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and When Marnie Was There. The beautifully surreal Paprika and heartwarming Summer Wars are also worth a look.

> [Having the first black female lead] isn’t really all that special, because we’ve already had Janeway (who was female) and Sisko (who was black), so combining the two isn’t really that much of a big deal.
It's probably more of a big deal if you're a black woman.
Please be aware: the idea that you get to dictate when a minority group should be satisfied with their level of representation in mass media is pretty much the definition of privilege. You do not get to decide that. Only the group in question does.
Also, could I ask you to consider framing your critique of the show without reference to what the creators say outside of it? Anything said outside of the text is irrelevant to a critique of said text unless you're specifically intending a meta analysis. Referring to it constantly looks a whole lot like you're inserting politics into things yourself, which I wouldn't mind if it wasn't something you claim annoys you so much. What politics have actually showed up within the text, without reference to anything outside of it? (This is a sincere question; I don't know the answer because I haven't seen the show.)

I've built quite a watchlist out of you guys' recommendations. These all sound great, but as a cinema nerd of sorts, I think Wings is the one I'm going to watch first out of these.
If we're talking Japanese cinema, I remember loving Takashi Miike's Audition. It's an incredibly messed up movie that I only recommend if you have a strong stomach, but it's also surreal and grotesque and very artistic for what's basically a horror story. My best friend and I had quite a fun time coming up with different interpretations and theories about it. And in terms of Japanese animation, Kakurenbo: Hide and Seek is a very interesting animated short about children playing a dangerous game in a strange city. Wherever you expect the plot to go, you probably won't guess the ending.

- You don't know that all of them are there more for the space battles than the love of the franchise, but it can sure feel like it.
On the main point, it's understandable you feel that way. It's like losing old friends and getting strangers in their place.
2. You're welcome :)
3. Honestly? That can be really frustrating. Hopefully any politics in a future story will be done with care and consideration.
4. As long as you watch out for next time. :)
5. I will admit that I took that statement partly literally, but I figured you didn't think femnazis are actually worse than actual nazis. That being said, that kind of joking statement isn't welcome here since not everyone takes it as a joke. Joke or not, negative feelings remain, so it's better not to say it here.
Speaking of femnazis, although I used the term for the sake of this conversation, it (along with other terms that suffix with nazi as a joke) is considered part of the right-leaning lingo that I mentioned before, so let's both make it a habit of not using it here from now on.
Also as a nitpick: instead of saying "my media", try "the media that I love" or "my favourite media". These can better get the point across without making it sound like you own the media.
Once again, thank you for answering my questions.

Namely, Section One, Article Three:
3. The community will not tolerate the use of language which evokes any form of discrimination or persecution. The subjects mentioned above, and others which cause genuine suffering (such as rape, murder, abuse, and mental health issues) should be discussed with sensitivity. Even 'joking' about these subjects is Not Funny; ‘it was just a joke’ is not an excuse - it’s self-incrimination.
I don't find joking about "feminazis" being worse than actual Nazis funny, and attempting to defend those statements as a joke even less so.

- Fans are fans, regardless of degree dedication. What gets me annoyed is when fresh blood comes into the fanbase that seems to be seeking to replace the old guard. I guess it’s me and my old fears of rejection speaking; but I feel like the fanbase is being replaced with people who just aren’t the same sorta fan as I am. They’re more there for the flashy CG space battles, and less for the love of a 50 year old franchise.
2. Thanks for the advice. To tell the truth, I’m sorta clueless about this sorta stuff. I’m aspie, and while I grasp most things; this sorta eludes me. So, I apologise.
3. Yeah. Look, when TNG was at its best, it used science fiction alllegory to subtly discuss social problems of the time. Iget that. The writers didn’t mouth off about it either. But when Discovery starts shoving its politics in my face like a excited terrier with a toy...it’s jarring, to say the least. Then when the writers consistantly mouth off about “Ooh, we have the first black female lead!” (Which isn’t really all that special, because we’ve already had Janeway (who was female) and Sisko (who was black), so combining the two isn’t really that much of a big deal) and “Look! First interracial gay couple on Star Trek!” (a statement nade utterly pointless when the writers killed off the black doctor in a “bury your gays” moment)...Discovery is obnoxious with its politics, and then has the gall to introduce canon-breaking tech like the Spore Drive (that level of tech just doesn’t exist in the 23rd century, and I mean that it should not exist REGARDLESS of technology kevel. It’s a really stupid idea).
4. Oh. So THAT’s where I swore. My apologies.
5. It’s more like what you said. I dislike neo-nazis; sure. I dislike fem-nazis because they just wont stop meddling with my media. To be perfectly honest, I meant the “least favourite kind of nazis” thing as a joking statement. Not a literal “femnzis are worse thsn actual nazis”. Sorry for the confusion.
