The ones above little-kid's hand's reach, anyway... probably.
Showing another aspect or two to Gall was my goal for this, so I'm glad that comes through. Also Fellrazer being an active participant in events. I'm pretty sure he's upgraded Aiden to "dragon" in his mind. ^_^

In short, I'm very cynical.

Learning a little about modern-day forager societies and other cultures with different sexual mores is pretty cool. Seems as though, when female sexuality is not restricted or controlled by the males and everyone's autonomy is respected, everyone is happier. Go figure.
Possible reasons for things like women generally making more noise than men.
Female orgasm chemically favoring the sperm of the male who managed it.
Why the penis is shaped the way it is. (But not why people keep insisting it's unappealing, which I don't get.)
The thorough dismantling of the assumptions made about ancient people by depressed men living in crowded, disease-ridden post-industrial European cities with more imagination than data to work with. We're all influenced by cultural bias, but at least we have more hard evidence now. As long as we don't keep throwing out the bits that don't conform to the current political narrative, whatever it happens to be.
Particularly, if we are inclined by nature to violence, which the authors doubt very much, we're at least equally inclined by nature to peaceful cooperation. Pushing one narrative over the other is extremely dubious. Who benefits? Who suffers?
Much respect for Darwin, who got some things wrong but tried hard to increase everyone's knowledge had the grace to admit he didn't know everything.
Not very much discussion of homosexuality, but only because if sex is not strictly about reproduction, but rather functions as a social lubricant, if you will, then it makes perfect sense and needs no further explanation. QED.
Much more that isn't rising immediately to mind!

I question the assumptions inherent in this thought. First, you assume a concept of property. Suppose instead that there is no more concept of possessing a knife than there would be of possessing a cloud.
Second, you assume there's only one good version of a highly useful if not vital tool that isn't so difficult to make more of. But even supposing that were the case, the knife does not belong to you. If you leave a shared thing lying around and walk away from it, that's a pretty clear signal that you are done using it. Why shouldn't someone else pick it up, especially if there's still an important job to do that you left unfinished? Acting as though you're the only one allowed to use the very important tool would make YOU the jerk, not the other person.

Re. explanation... good point! I remember thinking there were a few inconsistencies with what I thought was the actual cause, but didn't have time to get beyond that. So, yes, good. I retract the criticism. ^_^
And I was wondering whether Dafydd turned his translator off or on when he touched it the first time. I mean, he was hearing piratical talk before and after (I think), so...?

Snowy's close to correct, but I've been under the assumption that it was "Hween-ay-sore-on".
(hS is going to come back to the Board tomorrow and laugh at us, I can already tell. XD)
So...
1. Iximaz! It's Ix-ih-maz, with the last bit pronounced like razz berry. ;)
2. Um... tall for a girl, short for a guy, underweight, brown hair (currently blond on the top but I'm growing it out), high cheekbones, and the very Sueish green-with-a-gold-ring-around-the-pupils eyes. Lots of piercings and geeky tattoos. I also have two very large pink scars across my now-flat chest. :)
Denim coat, black T-shirt, jeans, and black Converse every day. Sometimes I add a maroon zip-up hoodie if it's cold outside. I am not very varied in my clothing.
3. Quack.

Because that's a long time (A previous thread tells me he's been here for 15 years, wow.)
Well, if you wish to know; brown/dirty blond hair, brown eyes, glasses, mildly tan, mid height. Whatever's one hand is what I wear.

1.It’s pronounced exactly as you’d expect.
2. Nothing like you’d expect a Snowblaze to look! Teenage girl, thick brown hair, taller than average for my age. Usually wears some shade of blue or purple. Or, if that’s too boring, make it up!
3. Maths jokes and obscure Middle-earth references are two things I’m a fan of, if it helps.

- My username isn't pronounced weirdly, so I'll say this instead: if it's too clunky "Moons" tends to be the easiest part to make nicknames out of.
2. Teenage girl. Average height, very skinny, pale-ish. Shoulderblade-length wavy (and usually pretty messy) copper hair. Bangs. Green eyes, glasses. I have a sharpie tattoo on the inside of my left wrist (a semicolon with the name TAYA written under it) and make an active effort to never cover it unless it's cold enough to be wearing gloves. I usually wear a chaplet of blue glass beads with a Celtic knot pendant at the back, and a short beaded strand finished with a wings pendant hanging from that. I like shawls and wear them even in the summer.
3. Whenever someone uses "god" as part of an exclamation, I'm more likely than not to respond with "yeah, but which god?" I'm very picky about music and get kind of defensive about my tastes in it. My mental health is a train wreck and I make no secret of that fact.

God, this has plagued so many people and I've never really bothered to establish this.
1. Max eh well. Not an emphasized eh, like the stereotypical Canadian Eh, but sort of like the 'u' in ugh.
2. Tall. Can't remember my exact height right now, but 6 ft plus. Currently sporting bleached blond hair, with lack roots. Blue eyes. Paler than Dracula skin. (I should probably go outside more.)
3. "pm me for nsfw memes"

But every time I try I get it wrong in increasingly ridiculous ways. I think my last attempt came out as something like "Hew-sar-een-ian". I just refer to him as hS if I can.
1. My username is pronounced "Albin", naturally.
2. I'm blonde and white and short and female and wear almost exclusively black clothing.
3. I don't exactly know which parts of myself are meme-worthy. I once bought a life-sized cardboard cutout of Anakin Skywalker because someone told me I wasn't allowed to like him as a character? It was pretty glorious. She said that and then a few minutes later I just texted her a picture of my order confirmation with no further explanation.
Nobody tells me what I'm allowed to like.

As for me...
1. It's just the letters! ;)
2. 5'3'', dark brown hair&eyes, medium build. Nothing particularly notable (except maybe my forehead? Also I'm Autistic, and while I'd hardly believe any stereotypes stemming from that, I definitely get a different 'feel' about myself from looking at photos than what I get looking at photos of neurotypical people.
3. ???? My wit has only sharpened in the time I've known this board. "All your memes are belong to me" maybe?

So... how do I?
Yeah, this is a thread that has to do with three things:
1. If you're one of those oldbies who has a username that's more like a name (Huinesoron, Neshomeh, etc.), how do I pronounce your username?
2. Give me a physical description of yourself.
3. Anything else I might find useful in the purpose of making more PPC memes.
Might also serve the purpose of introducing people to each other and stuff, so that's a good thing.
Thanks!

They discuss Rosseau, and are very diligent about explaining that they aren't claiming anything of the sort. Egalitarian here means that sharing is mandatory and nobody is allowed a big head, on pain of punishment and exile from the group. Again, it isn't about one way being better or more right or good than any other. Just the opposite: one way is NOT more right or good or better, and certainly not more natural. Nature, including human nature, is freaky.
