First of, I'm flattered and kind of surprised people see me as trustworthy for that position. Personally, I'm not as sure about my judgement on when to let the chat self-regulate and when to intervene, especially my ability to quickly recognize when a certain behaviour crosses the line to harrassment or trolling.

However, I'm willing to accept the position if people think I'm suitable for it. For this I propose that, if no 'opposed' votes pop up after I post this, I take up the position for a limited amount of time (maybe one or two months), at the end of which people will have the ability to decide if they are happy with me in that position, and for me to decide whether I think I'm able (and willing) to stay.

Lastly, if people have concerns with the idea of me being a mod, I hereby explicitly ask them to voice these concerns.

With the stuff going on in my life, I kind of just left the discord in a fit of grief and I haven't been posting on the board mostly because I never know what to say. I'll be back at some point.

The opposing team looks really weird, you rarely take 3 pokemon all with the same (common) weakness, but the team idea there was a decent one... It could of just been better, especially considering there will be plenty of phasing pokemon out there with either Roar, Whirlwind or Dragon Tail to switch you out or Haze to eliminate your stat changes.

If Bast or Cam or Thals (or, Valar preserve us, Jay) said they liked your writing, that pretty much meant you had it. I got mine by proposing DOGA and getting a 'sounds interesting' from Bast; I think Bjam got hers by saying 'I want to be PPC Morale Officer!' and that being accepted.

The point being, not writing for the PPC didn't mean you didn't have a (usually eponymous) agent floating around. The line between Board and HQ was pretty fluid, too; Al's Waiter the Blue Elf hung out in both.

According to my research, if either Larfen or Hieronymus get elected, they will be our first fifth-generation Permission Givers, where this is defined as 'how many steps is it from you gaining Permission back to Jay and Acacia'.

Jay, of course, was the first generation (with Acacia, but so far as I know Acy never really got into the Permission game). She granted Permission to Bast, Cam, and Thalia, as well as (according to some thread I found) Delta Juliette, our only remaining second-generation PG.

I got my Permission from Bast, putting me in the third generation, alongside Kaitlyn (I think through Cam), Neshomeh (ditto), and significantly Araeph.

The fourth generation includes a lot of our current stock of PGs: Araeph gave Permission to Phobos and Zingenmir (and also JulyFlame), Nesh granted it to PoorCynic, and apparently I had excellent judgement in the case of Iximaz.

Our two candidates, though, are both fifth generation: Larfen got Permission from Ix, and Hieronymus from July. So that's exciting! If you're a complete saddo, of course. (Hi!)

(By my count, across all our PGs, the generations stack up like this:

1st: 2
2nd: 9-11
3rd: 5-7
4th: 13

(The uncertainty is because there are 6 PGs whose Permission I can't trace. Doc Filth and Tough Cookie could have got it from Jay or one of her successors; Rohirric Monkey, Sedri, VixenMage and Laburnum almost certainly got it from the Third Generation - I would guess Araeph or myself, but there are other options.)
