Have you read the reports from Season 3 and Season 4? And have you seen the website we've been using? I don't have the link to hand; it's somewhere in the archives.
If you drop me an email at the address I list here we can discuss the arena. Or not if you'd rather put something together yourself, of course. :)

Ahem.
I remember reading or watching something about Angkor Wat that was really fascinating at the time... but I've completely forgotten what. Something about water management, maybe? It's certainly gorgeous.
I always appreciate details; people talking more is one of my long-term goals. :)

Their big-name tomb is Edward II, so no interesting relics or anything.
But! They apparently have the earliest image of golf in one of their stained-glass windows.
So there's that.

The 46 miserichords in Gloucester Cathedral include mythological themes - I spotted a mermaid and a dragon, both of which I believe count as magic in Harry Potter.

I like it! Okay, okay, I know it needs to be longer than that.
So whilst I know quite a bit about Doctor Who I'm personally not a massive fan of it myself, and with this I feel like I don't need to be. It may just be like that because I love the Day of the Doctor (more for the music, but hey). It's written from a perspective that, as far as I'm aware anyway, is never really touched upon in Doctor Who. And I really get that feeling of hopelessness at the start as The Guardsman watches what must be another friend or fellow soldier die and the insurmountable odds that are facing them. I like the interaction between the Sergeant Major and The Guardsman, with the former trying his level best to keep what must not just be The Guardsman but also each of the other twenty-two men in the unit fighting. And then that short final bit after the message is received, it's direct, to the point and just encapsulates what the whole thing is about in four words. "Hope ain't dead yet."
There were a couple of SPaG issues, but it's really not that bad. The main thing I was confused about was the capitalization of Guardsman and Sergeant Major which are capitalized when they are first mentioned but then aren't for the rest of the prompt. The other thing I really want to mention is that the Sergeant Major always uses 'said' and there never seems to be any hints that they aren't in a tench desperately fighting for their lives. I wouldn't mind seeing either a bit more emotion in how the words are actually said, or even say have one part interrupted as either one of the Sergeant Major or the Guardsman has to try and dodge a shot or something like that, something to say 'yes we are still in a war zone and we're not just chatting about this five miles from the front lines.'
Overall though I really enjoyed reading this through, so thanks for that.

No? *yawn*
(I kid, I would like to see it, too—but if I listed all the castles I wanted to visit, I'd basically just link a list of "castles in the UK". Family history or fandom history? It's a tough pick.)

I feel this is how PGs should always operate.
Look at what's happened in this thread. The first PG to look at it couldn't pin down what was bothering him, so asked for someone else to look. The second said 'oh, I know which of us knows those canons' and paged him. The third offered a comprehensive assessment of the Permission request, drawing on that canon knowledge, offered constructive criticism, and then stuck around to address any queries about what he'd said.
This is wonderful (okay, I'm getting a little overenthusiastic here). This is what Permission Givers are supposed to do. :)

So, the power's finally sorted. by

A brief bit of background: when starting at level ten, your character gets 150 points
and the game is overto spend on everything - stats, powers, skills, advantages, and defence boosts. Mesa's power wound up being really, really complicated, and required a huge amount of downsides and creative applications of rules both house and in the handbook in order for it to function in the way I'd intended.
Getting her power to a usable level took eighty-two points. Which left me sixty-eight points to spend on literally everything else. Which was, er, fun! But I think I've got a very compelling character, and I really want to get into the game and bend spacetime into interesting shapes until it starts crying! =]

I'm guessing there might be some weird stuff like Eject Button and Red Card. I need to look through the item registry again, there's a bounty of odd items in there. My favourite back in Gen 5 was Flame Orb Sigilyph with Psycho Shift, which allowed it to burn the opponent reliably. It was great for crippling physical attackers, and it might still work in Gen 7 now that the Burn status's damage has been nerfed. =]

It's very tempting, but it seems it doesn't boost Metronome-the-move, so it wouldn't be any use at all. I'm trying to make them at least slightly helpful. ;)
(Might shove one of the OHKO-protectors in there somewhere to avoid the Tyranitar effect, though...)

... and fought against my tournament team. Turns out they have a glaring shared weakness to Giant Stompy Kaiju - Tyranitar is faster than most of them and can one-hit almost the entire team.
Part of the problem is that I let some of them focus on defence. Pfft, who needs that? If we're going full ridiculous, then we need to be all about the (Sp)Attack and Speed - get in fast, hit the enemy with a Metronome, and hope it's a good one.
I did have to make a couple of changes to the team, too - apparently Metronome isn't compatible with using a hidden ability, and Kecleon isn't allowed both Reflect Type and... either Skill Swap or Synchronise, not sure.
Still, I've managed to sneak a few extra surprises into the hold items... heh heh heh...
