The note: there's absolutely no obligation to give...any description, really, and especially not a precise physical/age/etc description. I feel like I see more people doing so every year (that is, one or two more than the time before, not a giant increase), but it remains unrequired. Describe according to your personal comfort level. It helps to provide something, especially if you're less active, but...that something doesn't have to be a precise physical description. Just something for people to jump off of.

Anyway, for my part this year...I have very long hair and really like languages. I've also been extremely busy recently and would be grateful for such fictional things as a vacation (she says, while in possession of actual paid vacation days... ;) it pays to not actually be a PPC agent, including literally). I look similar to Agent Dawn McKenna, especially now that my hair is Very Long again (maybe it's finally time to cut hers? :P), but wouldn't shed a tear to be portrayed as a dragon or something this year. In fact, if you write me as a dragon shapeshifter I'll be very entertained :P

Oh, I also have a PG Hat gathering dust somewhere. I wonder what it tastes like these days...!

Please don't ship me with anyone underage. I think I'd also mostly prefer fluff or silliness, though I'll take silly drama as well. Nothing too serious, though, please, unless it's something silly taken seriously.

Uh... Chinese, glasses, five-foot-six-ish? Not straight, but generally considers her aceness to be "submit your paperwork 3 months in advance and maybe then we'll discuss it".

Big fan. XD I have to say though, the American version look so harsh, colour-wise... The colour's more muted in Sweden, but they ARE the same brand. I was about to be like "um we actually don't have those here, just something similar" but they are literally produced by the same company. The American version just has "Swedish" branded on each fish while the Swedish version has "Malaco" instead, which is the name of the company that makes them...

I can see a sort of love/hate dynamic in that they are ALMOST what Ekwy would recognise, but still temptingly different. Gasp! The drama!

How do you feel about ...Swedish fish?

Straight, but y'know, you can have fun with it. Swedish, so if you want to enjoy yourself pairing me with Swedish things you can go ham. XD I can see myself shipping Ekwy/IKEA, personally.

I wouldn't be up for discussing this right now anyway, because I've just had back-to-back house-sits and I'm sick (nothing terrible, just draining), so, yeah. Kinda grateful they're not done yet. ^_^;

Phobos (my real-life husband) isn't not in for recurring ships (e.g. the traditional recombinations of him, me, hS, and Kaitlyn), but since he hasn't been engaged in the community for a long time, it feels weird to involve him in new ones. Y'all may consider Shipfest!me a free agent (but not a PPC agent; she's different).

Not that you weren't free to do so anyway. I could not care less whether I'm "in-character" for this; that's so not the point. {= P

You shouldn't need a translator; just a dictionary and maybe Wikipedia. (I'm assuming English is your native language; correct me if I'm wrong.)

As for whether you should write a character who talks like Spock, if you're not comfortable with at least a college reading level, this probably isn't a type of character you'll have fun writing. Writing a character who sounds smart requires an extensive vocabulary, heavy on specialized Latinate terms. (There are complex historical reasons for this.) You also have to know the nuances of how those words are actually used; just looking up everyday words in a thesaurus and swapping in the biggest ones won't convince anyone.

Writing a character who is actually more educated than you is even more challenging. You'd have to be willing to do research on unfamiliar subjects, sometimes above and beyond a quick dip into Wikipedia to be really sure you understand what you're talking about.

For a beginning writer (especially if you're writing in a second language), it's better to stick with characters who have a level of life experience and general knowledge/education similar to your own.

I'm not too active on the board, but I'll join in. Just don't ship me with Silv (if they opt in) because we are related.

I am opting in to allow you fiends to ship me with whomever thou desirest, though I will mention that I am a straight man.

Though I'll admit I should have started it before going and editing people's pages rather than afterward. Not my best move.

I know that some of the pictures I've done have involved non-Tektek photos--Trojie's page, for example, had only one image.

I think I added to some of Nemo's agent pages as well as Lily's, Delta's, and yours, hS. I think all the other ones I've either specifically talked to the writer of the agents already, or they are long gone. I think I'll go ahead and contact the authors who are still around.

Oh, and Nesh has also done some gallery adding with her own agents on the FicPsych page.

You could spot that Sergio, or for example me, was still around, and either leave those pics alone or ask about it. The Board is suitable for that if.

In my case, I've spotted that you've put the TekTeks back on Dafydd and Constance - fine, I think I took them off before we had gallery code. But I've no idea what else you've done. Do you know of any non-TekTek pictures you've put on any of my agents, off the top of your head?

It was just that adding them to relevant pages "automatically" doesn't feel right either, so good on you for checking with authors directly when you could!

I'm not sure it's a good idea to push the Shipfest to T-board: the front page is over a month long so it's not like we're pushing active threads off! And if it's on the Board then people will see it and maybe contribute, unless most people don't check the Board any more?
