Have you ever read Neil Gaiman's Sandman series? There's a conversation in one of them about secrets and mysteries-- between Cain, the keeper of secrets, and Abel, the keeper of mysteries. I lent the book out (it's the one before The Kindly Ones, right?), so I can't quote directly, but the point is something to the effect of "Giving away a mystery spoils it. People don't want answers, they want to wonder."
That's kind of what I was going for with this. I didn't explicitly state that they weren't in Kansas because the specific location of Kansas isn't really the point-- the point is, as you noticed, the barren sepia-toned... theme.
Anyway, the reason why I didn't go into detail about the hows and the whys of Brian's character is because I've been trying for more subtlety in writing; it seems like the better stories, in my experience, are the ones where the writer lets you ask, lets you wonder, gives you room to draw conclusions. That's kind of what I was going for-- it's not really a fantasy story, more of... surrealism, I guess.

I'm sure someone else will do a better job with the Useful Links, but I'll do my best. Huhm, you have the Wiki already, I guess the next important link would be The Original Series, so here you are:
http://www.misssandman.com/PPC/story.html
I'll assume you obeyed orders to read the Board Constitution.
http://ppc.wikia.com/wiki/KilledBadfic
That is the Killed Badfic; it's also a pretty good list of all major missions. If you run into some Agents you particularly like, you can just hunt through their pages for missions.
The FAQs you are most likely to need:
<a href="http://ppc.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ:TheBoard">http://ppc.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ:TheBoard
<a href="http://ppc.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ:ForNewbies">http://ppc.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ:ForNewbies
And the overall guide to the PPC:
<a href="http://ppc.wikia.com/wiki/GuidetothePPC">http://ppc.wikia.com/wiki/Guidetothe_PPC
You've probably found most of those, if you've been poking around the wiki, but I figured I'd drop them off anyway just in case you hadn't.
Oh! And my gift to you: One steamer trunk with infinite capacity (trust me, you are going to need it) and a plover, to be friends with the one Tawaki gave you. (Because plovers get lonely too.)

Allison's kind of busy at the moment, but Tasmin's available for a cameo. I need an excuse to have her out of the response centre, so thanks.
I don't know any LotR (blasphemy), but I can look at the grammar.

I remember typing the closing tag - either I didn't hit the / key or my computer decided to screw me over and ignore the keystroke (my keyboard gets sticky like that sometimes). Either way, my failure to notice, but I guess that accounted for the second [i].

Beta Request and question for IndeMaat by

So I have a crossover Sue mission in Stargate Atlantis and Lord of the Rings (movie verse). The target fic was deleted when I was about halfway through writing it, so there is no link to the original. (I learned a valuable lesson about copying the target to some place I can have continued access to it over this.)
I would particularly like someone that can check grammar and Lord of the Rings facts.

IndeMaat: Would you mind if your agents make a brief cameo to drop off the mini?

I posted the Holmes story under Claimed badfic on the wiki, and the Star Wars stories under Unclaimed badfic. I left a note with them that I will be happy to lend my agents to a joint killing of them all at once. I've never done a collaboration before, so if any of the people who have stated an interest in this has I will defer to your experience on how to handle it.

I am going to plug an author here. Westron Wynde: http://www.fanfiction.net/u/1507793/
I haven't read everything by this author yet. The stories tend to be at least novella length, so it takes a while, but everything I have read so far is above excellent.
I have been particularly impressed with her series about a young Holmes' early career:

<a href="http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5466355/1/TheParticularProblemofPosternPrison">http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5466355/1/TheParticularProblemofPosternPrison (My favorite. Yes, I read them out of order. This was the first Holmes fanfic I read. If this author ever published this, through self publishing or whatever, I would totally pay for a copy of it. Actually possible in the fandom, as it is based on a public domain work.)
And by some others:
<a href="http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5826683/1/TheCaseoftheBakerStreetFlatMate">http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5826683/1/TheCaseoftheBakerStreetFlatMate More a series of snippets than a single story
<a href="http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5288863/1/ThePugilisttheDetectiveandtheDoctor">http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5288863/1/ThePugilisttheDetectiveandtheDoctor A little sappy at the end, but still well written
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4997638/1/Mistake I like this author, too.
<a href="http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4830785/1/WatsonsWoes">http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4830785/1/Watsons_Woes
Okay, that is probably enough for one post.

Reasons for hating Wanted by

Most people that dislike Wanted are those that read the comic first and had too high expectations for the movie, or those that think it's too action pulp.
I haven't seen it yet (it's on my netflix queue) so I'll let you know where I stand after I do :P

I didn't really see the Face Murdock slash in the film. BA Murdock, sure. But I'm not a slasher myself, so I probably don't see what is there. (For a listing of all the slashy moments between Face and Murdock from the TV show, see this fanvid)

If her life was "lonely but predictable," I would call that together. Maybe not a good kind of together, but certainly together. If you want a crappy romance-novel cliché, it should be "...showed her how to live" or something.
But then again, it's a Suefic. They're not supposed to make sense.

It's good. It's very good. Someone already linked you to FictionPress, or I would have done it for you...
I don't quite understand why Brian seems to have this infective cheerful possession effect on random characters... Or the description of "endlessly sepia-toned miles". It sounds rather like they're in some kind of barren alternate dimension.
Don't mind my brain, it's on fantasy setting. But that's what it sounds like... The title only makes it slightly clearer. You might want to explain in-story that they are, in fact, in Kansas, along with why they're in Kansas in the first place. I, for one, am confused.
