I don't remember anyone plugging this on the board before, and I am therefore remedying that now.

This is hands-down the best Doctor Who fic I've ever read twice. It's Ten/Rose, and it's kidfic, and it /works/. Even if you don't like kidfic, it works.

Midway through the second season of NuWho, Rose gets pregnant, and life in the Tardis gets a whole new dimension. The canon chronology is derailed, of course, but watch for familiar faces popping up in different times and places.

Only speaking of Star Wars here, but there is actually a proper system for how canonical some of the EU material is. Wildly-AU works don't count as canon, but unfortunately even some of the worst of the books *cough*Crystal Star*cough* do count as canon.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies had the potential to be funny. Most of those things do. I just wish the authors would show a bit more creativity about it--a lot of the lines sounded like they were quoted directly from the book. It's like the minor badfic genre-- "I'm too lazy to make my own plot, so I'll just write the canon in story form." Only found in visual-media genres, especially manga and anime.

Ahhh... Stupid after-series. With some, it's not so bad, but with popular series and classics, it can get pretty bad.

Curiously enough, LOTR has never gotten that treatment. Probably because LOTR practically defines fantasy. You just can't do anything more. With Dune, though, it just went way too far, and don't even get me started on Star Wars. Prequels, sequels, alternate-historequels... Ugh. Little more than published badfic. I'm surprised there aren't lame AUs and Bad Slash books.

I agree with what Cliever said; they're a divergent canon that includes the original but is not included in the original. Unless they're just horribly, disgustingly lame--then they're in a category all their own, specifically for despising. Like the later Dune spinoffs. And most of the Star Wars spinoffs.

Totally not canon, but entertainingly bizarre. Whether the spawned sequels and imitators stay as entertaining remains to be seen.

The only way I think I could ever get through Middlemarch is if they added some form of monsters to it. Glaurung, but that's a boring book.

On the other hand, none of my Agents (well, Agent concepts) is a morpher. Do you mind if I steal it into one of my original fics, or is it PPC-limited?

Basically, the rumor is that Anakin was supposed to swap roles with Jacen, and then George Lucas decided that idea was a stupid idea. It does explain a lot about the structuring of the character arcs prior to Anakin's death. Dunno if there is any evidence to back it up, though.

Specifically with the upcoming Xcom FPS, which is supposedly somehow connected to the X-com top-down turn based isometric squad tactical game. I think what irritates me most is that it is inexplicably set in the 1960's with the main character being an FBI agent. Mostly because I see no possible reason for that change.

Killing both Mara and Jacen over the course of the series was not the thing to do to endear it to me. Now only Corran and Mirax are alive out of my favourite EU characters, and I doubt we'll see much more of either of them.

I think that evil!Jacen could've potentially been pretty good, but the way it was done just did not work. Some of the writers were better than others, though. *is not a Traviss fan*

I did really like Shatterpoint and the RotS novelization by Stover.

Yep, I'd call it a Halo 'verse Canon too. Not Halo Canon, but a "subcanon" if you will.

I liked having a novel that didn't portray Jacen as a whiny bitch, but especially after the whole Legacy of the Force debacle I'm not a fan of the book that started him down the path to being Darth Junior. Destroy one of the favourite characters of my childhood, why don't you...

All in all, I felt it was pretty good.

I've been addicted to Advance Wars: Dual Strike for weeks now, which was a resurgence of an earlier addiction to the earlier two games. As I only started playing this most recent game after my exposure to the Fan Fiction community (the story being the poorest of the three, leaving an unlikely and unsatisfactory end for my tastes), I was drawn to start writing a fun light hearted story that plays with the darker side of one of the hero characters, Sonja.

I tried to make it a fun read even for people that aren't as familiar with the canon, but obviously people who have played the games will enjoy it more.

I believe Red vs. Blue is actually a parody set /in/ the Halo canon. You could consider it an alternate canon in the Halo continuity.

From the reviews, It appears that Kurt was Carey's Killer. Repeat: Kurt was Carey's killer. Anyone who knows what that sentence means, rejoice. You now have another cause for facepalming. Apparently Divorced Dads are now automatically homicidal by nature. *rages*

Boarders who were there just before my failed Permission attempt (not going to talk about that) whould remember this as one of four fanfics that were candidates for my first mission. I ended up selecting another (now deleted), but only because I coudn't take this one.

This fic parodies the cliches of Suite Life Badfic, such as the badly written Twincest, the Mary Sues, and the exhibitionist Femslash, with the promise of more coming. A veritable antidote to the earlier badfic.

Bailey gets pregnant through a One-Night-Stand with Zack, and when she reveals it to both him and Cody, they tell her it's her fault, scream at her, and don't give her any sympathy or support whatsoever. Which is completely contrary to their canon portrayals, ever. While there is much to dislike about the show and it's characters, none of them deserve this. That said, it would have made a tolerable original story, at least in my opinion.

Things on this Board got quite heated for a while, before we settled the question by making this particular 'ruling'. No one likes spats, so count yourself lucky. Sue invasions don't tend to end up being that much fun, anyway.

I quite enjoyed it. I had to stop several times to facepalm at the idiocy in the fic.

One note: I believe that Vimes lost the Dis-organizer shortly before he became a Duke. It is a small thing, though.

A character who would coo in that situation could be awesome in a GTKO-of-my-nightmares way, don't you think?
