Thank you! I couldn't find any today--it's a bit late for it in this part of the world, unfortunately. But I wore it in my heart.
Only not literally. Because, well, yeah. >.>

Just saying why I won't vote for it at all; I seem to remember a conversation on this Board a few years back in which someone indeed said that Legendary Badfic have to be fairly well-known, not just awful, and I think it's a good idea.

It's never healthy; I'm extremely glad to have grown out of that teenager-y phase, and to honestly be able to say I'm happy with myself. In any case, you're right; we cannot be responsible for the life of someone we've never met in person, so it's just going to have to be up to Max. Here's hoping all's well and ends well.

So consider this a vote against for both?
There's far worse out there that's better known.
And the second's main problem is, what, that it's some writer who doesn't get the seriousness of what the Nazis did and did an AU that's somewhat inappropriate? That's not terrible, in the sense that it should be legendary, that's just woefully uniformed on their part as well as how they delivered it.
And the first, I never even heard of before either.

(But not really, because it's Glaurunging hot outside. And I'm going riding, and a towel would probably spook the horses.)

I would like to see a crossover with SGA. Rodney's reaction would be very interesting to watch.

I didn't know about the Star Wars one. Someone should add it to this wiki article.
I'll try to find some lilac to wear while I'm at work today and see if anyone notices. *g*

On the other hand, I don't think trying to fit in at the expense of one's happiness is healthy, either.
My take on this is based on my experience seeing what happens when a person tries to make someone or something else responsible for his or her well-being, and it's not pretty. I don't want any of us, including Max, to be in that situation. Like I said, we can only do so much to be supportive and helpful if there is a serious issue. At some point, the right thing to do for everyone is to step back, say "no, taking care of you is not my job," and point to a qualified therapist.
I really hope you're right that it isn't that bad, but as long as Max makes it sound that way in his posts, that will be my response.

You'll have to "hack" the world in which the fic takes place to do it, but thankfully, there's a way for agents to do it: Describe the badly-described scenery to re-form it the way you want.

This isn't altogether safe, because all of the laws of irony tend to apply; but it can be done and has been used (though I'm not sure it's been used as an execution method). Canon tends to help you because it wants to be rid of the sue/stu as much as you want to kill them.
Ever had a lucid dream? I think it must be a lot like that. You know you're dreaming; so you can create things and events just by expecting they'll be there and imagining them vividly enough. Only sometimes, it doesn't work well; or you can't keep the details in your mind; or you can't control things entirely because your attention wanders or you're subconsciously expecting something else to happen. (If you've not had a lucid dream, or not learned how to control them, chances are you sleep too deeply, you lucky bum, and don't get woken up every time the air conditioning switches on...)

Just reread Night Watch day before yesterday, actually. I would love to say it was specifically in honour of the day, but it really wasn't. It was because Night Watch is my favourite of the great Pratchett's books.
I second the, it gives such hope in humanity. A character who can kill and choses not to . . . tat is all t orare. Plus, Prachett is *such* an excellent writer.
I think I'll have a boiled egg for breakfast, with the yolk runny.
