It's That Time Of Year Again! by

Yeah, you know what I mean. (I hope?) NaNoWriMo is upon us once again! (Cue the dramatic music?) For everyone who hasn't been bitten yet, National Novel Writing Month is where everyone with a pen and paper, or a laptop, and a basic
masochisticneed to write-- but not just write. No, that would be too mundane for us. NaNo is when you take the month of November (thirty days, by the way) and try to write 50,000 words in it, a novel in the genre of your choice.
Now, this might sound crazy to some.
But this is the PPC! I'll admit that when I saw the topic "Artic's Game of the Month," my first thought was "Poke, prod, taunt, and generally bother NaNo participants until they completely lose it?"
What're y'all doing for NaNo? What are your strategies this year? (Especially for shutting off the Inner Editor; do I err in guessing that the average Agent's biggest problem is ignoring said voice?) Have you ever won? And so on, and so forth.
(I'm taking two and a half characters I love and throwing them into a semi-Steampunk universe along the lines of Thirty Years War status, but... with the whole world involved. I figure this will give me a lot more opportunity to actually win, because both times I tried to write a set out, planned plot, I ran out of words and ideas too quickly. This time, I've only given myself exceedingly vague plot guidelines, in hopes that I'll be able to actually finish the damned line this year. >_>)

I think lot of us start on the wrong foot and get turned off tea forever. Apparently some fool on Yahoo! somewhere said that Earl Gray tastes like Froot Loops. A girl who writes for our little student publication went in expecting Froot Loops and got tea with bergamot, and of course was shocked and dismayed. That's the sort of thing I want to correct, at least on my campus.
Part of the problem is not growing up with tea. It's an acquired taste, so if people haven't got a liking for it from saturation in the womb, it takes time to appreciate it.
The other part of the problem is the culture of instant gratification. One can slam a quick cup of tea if necessary, but I've always liked the process of boiling water, watching the tannins seep from the teabag, breathing the steam, feeling the warmth of the cup, and finally savoring the flavor. It's more than just a beverage--it's anti-stress. Perhaps that's an Asian influence, but they did start the whole tea-drinking thing.
... I'm rambling. I'm not even sure I have a point, other than "tea is fantastic." ^_^;
~Neshomeh, going to peruse the tea website now.

*sings* "Think of it as personality dialysis" by

That's a song from Wicked, for you poor, deprived people who have never seen/heard of it. Very perky song - called "Popular" - and hearing "dialysis" just set it off in my head. Then I realised that "personality dialysis" is just about the most perfect phrase in this context. So I had to mention it.
I like the idea of neutralization - at least, my Nice side does. My Assassin Agent side is disgusted, but she can use her daggers anyway.
Watching a Sue go through Glitter withdrawal would be fascinating. I hope that you - or someone - writes it.

I have an exam on the morning of the 1st (in my time zone - the rest of you will still be in October, so maybe it doesn't quite count?), but after that I have practically nothing, all month - quite convenient of the Americans to put it during my summer holiday ;)
I think I'll use it to get a bunch of raw, later-editable material either for a Wicked fanfic idea I've been tossing around, or more chapters for my PPC missions or my Stardust fanfic (yes, I know that's against the rules as they're both already begun, but I'm not actually entering. I just want the incentive).
And maybe I'll change my mind and be boring. Not sure. *shrug*

The tea counter disagrees with you. I just love to watch those numbers go up and know I'm doing my bit.

Re the antioxidants, green and black tea are just the same. Tea is also a natural source of fluoride! It has zinc and folic acid in it, good for keeping away the neural tube defects if you're trying to bring a new tea drinker into the world. And, without milk, it has no calories. Helps protect against some cancers too.

stay way from Yorkshire tea then by

Presumably, somewhere out there, there are civilised people, who threaten a delicate china cup of hot water with a teabag, then add lemon to it. You could be one of that sort of tea drinker instead. Unfortunately, over here in Yorkshire, we have to take our tea the manly way. Otherwise how would we know we were in Yorkshire? Aside from the grumpy old men and the flatcaps, of course.

As of yesterday, a cure has been found for the zombie plague, courtesy of either the Grand Apothecary of the Forsaken, or a human high priestess, depending on your faction. Blizzard has hinted, however, that the invasion is nowhere near over yet.

People who frequent the 4chan bulletin board. It's a popular location for trolls and jerks, but not everyone there is like that. Every individual board is indicated by one or two letters with a slash either side.
If you value your sanity stay away from /a/. Sunday 5pm Japan time (+9 GMT) is when /m/ should also be avoided, due to a flood of Gundam 00 posts. In fact, /m/ should be avoided for a good 24 hours after a new episode of that particular show airs, due to volume of posts on that topic.

If it's part of the blood, then maybe it's an antigen of some sort. Antigen-G (for glitter) perhaps? If that's the case then an antibody (Anti-G) could neutralise the antigen without harming the rest of the blood.

Abarai Renji and Kurosaki Ichigo from Bleach seem to both be rather affected by Sues. Sasori from Naruto also tends not to object to Mary Sues within Akatsuki, as far as I have seen. In fact sometimes he's even paired with them (and how that works, since by the time of Akatsuki he's turned himself into a puppet, I have no idea).
How do the rest of the Weasley family take to Sues? I stay clear of the Harry Potter fandom these days, so I don't know the answer to that one.

More like dialysis. Could be complicated. Fun, but complicated.
I'd like to see some kind of chemical neutralization, myself. Something one could inject into the Sue's bloodstream that would bond with the Glitter and render it ineffective. I know that ex-Sues sometimes take doses of Anti-Lustin... perhaps that's a start.
D'you suppose they would go through Glitter withdrawal? I can only assume it'd madly addictive. They would have to go through therapy and reconditioning, in any case, as our ex-Sues (again) testify.
Incidentally, the Department of Fictional Psychology would love to team up with the DMSE&R on some of these issues. {= )

For added effect, maybe a redheaded dwarf? by

Redheads don't tend to be popular with Mary-Sues either. Just look at Ron and Ginny Weasley. Out of the Harry Potter characters, those two are the ones most consistant in their dislike of Mary-Sues. I don't think there's enough redheads in other fandoms for me to prove this, but it's a possibility.
