written on the back of an envelope in messy but legible cursive
.
I must go back to the library again
Back to shelves stuffed with books
So I can sail in a sea of words
And backwards I will never look.
So why do you care if I am still there
Reading till half past three?
I don’t care if I am still there
Inexcusably late for tea.
For I have to find out what came about
In this book that you see.
Oh if only you knew what it was too
You’d be book obsessed like me.

I like that Kaguya stays so supportive of Momoka, even in the face of her low confidence, and even when she forgets something important like writing down charges. And he has a point, too: his anger mode is much more disruptive to completing missions than Momoka's inexperience. Hopefully they can both support the other in getting better at staying on task eventually! To answer your question, no, I don't think there would be any reprimand for not recording the charges during the mission. The Suvian still had them stated to her before execution, and the agents clearly included the charges in the paperwork (as represented by the mission itself). Missing either of those things WOULD be problems with the Flowers.
It would be nice, for us readers who don't know Japanese, if you could explain some of the linguistics usage when your agents correct errors in the fics. That way, we could learn some new things! And as it is, I'm just being told something is wrong; I don't understand why.
Also, since Momoka drops the "capital-b witch" word a few times, you should warn for that ahead of time, in the opening author notes, if not in the Board post as well. That way, folks who aren't comfortable with reading bad language, or could get in trouble if an authority figure sees it over their shoulder, they know not to open the mission.

Featuring first appearance of a mini in the TouRabu continuum. Both minis – toudanshi and Shoukudaikiri – are currently adoptable. Thanks to [name redacted] for beta-ing as always.
What I want to ask is: is forgetting to write down charges (but still remembering the charges themselves) a reprimandable or punishable offense?

It's possible the vector rendering is only partly borked by

But yeah, I think it's very possible that Twitter's rendering the emojis as vectors to ensure uniformity across platforms.
If chrome is borked... hmm... You can using firefox, I guess? I don't know how to unbork chrome totally, sorry.

There’s been trolls heading around various fandoms spamming shock-images (aka very very NSFW and disgusting pictures). They hit the fandom I used to mod for last night and it’s relatively small fandom—about the same size as ours—so I thought I might as well warn everyone in case they choose to pop up here.

I'm on Android, Twitter is in the browser, and apparently something's gotten borked with Chrome. Uninstalling all browser updates fixed the issue, but letting it reinstall them created it again. So either there's a /really stupid/ setting somewhere... or they broke Chrome and haven't got round to fixing it for weeks.
Could it be that Twitter renders its emojis as text-type overlaid with vectors? I don't even know how that would work, but they're clearly doing /something/ weird.

First off, iPhone or Android? That changes stuff.
As for what's actually causing it... uh... hmm. All the vanishing stuff seems to be vector graphics (I might be wrong about that, but it seems to be the case) and text isn't effected despite also being vectors (usually of a different type). But it does effect emojis partially, which are treated like text except when they're not.
I'm not super sure how to go about fixing this (I have no clue if the classic "turn it off and on again" would even work, and I'm assuming you've given that a go already...). Honestly, I'm just as baffled as you as to what's causing it. Try clearing out your caches? Maybe something's been corrupted.
...Hang on, is twitter the website or the app? Because if all of this is happening in the browser and not in the app, it might be a browser bug and not a system bug.
Either way, this is a weird problem.

My phone has picked up a really weird issue with displaying symbols the last couple of weeks - so weird that I don't know how to describe it in order to get useful search results. So since I know we've got a decent techie contingent here, I thought I'd try asking.
This is what Twitter looks like right now:
No Comment/Like/Retweet symbols. The symbol for making a post is gone. Emojis are mostly gone, but leave random bits - this is what I screencapped, so you can see things like the fish eyes and most of the yacht are still there. Faces show up as yellow circles or not at all; red flags just show the flagpole; the poop emoji (Twitter is classy) showed only the face, not the background.
And no, it's not just Twitter. Search icons are vanishing - here's Wikipedia, with the search invisible in the top bar. Wikipedia has also lost the drop-down arrows for opening sections. Some mobile game adverts turn the X to close them invisible. Stuff like that.
I would really love to know what's going on, and, ideally, how I can make it stop. :-/

(The Board, so far as I can tell, is fine. The Wiki has a blank yellow bar across the top.)

Yeah, it's one of those "Cupcakes"-esque fics that takes a cute children's cartoon character and turns it bloody, but the writing is fine. I spotted a few punctuation errors (periods and commas outside double-quotes; sound familiar?), but that's it.
Around here, we believe that anything can be written well, from "girl falls into Middle-earth" to "cute character goes on a murder spree." You don't have to like it, because taste is subjective, but finding an idea not to your taste is not grounds for a sporking. Would you enjoy this story if it were about a different character, or didn't involve Japan? (Personally, I think I could find it pretty funny if the situation were reversed, and Pikachu [for example] lost his mind after being abused by an American company...) Also, where would the mission's humor come from? It's okay if bits of a badfic make you angry, but the best sporkings are based on canon-love and humor, not anger.
Also, always remember the MST3K mantra: It's just a
showfic, I should really just relax. Counterintuitive, I know, but it's important to maintain perspective so as not take a silly hobby too seriously. {= )~Neshomeh

I'm in rare form, folks - two reviews in a row. I guess I should be thankful that I'm reading books that are genuinely fun enough for me to want to talk about them. This review touches on some Current Events topics because it's about a crime novel, and I'm rather ambivalent towards it, but still - it wasn't a bad read, and the cover is gorgeous. I guess I should thank Laburnum for mentioning it in one of her missions and calling my attention to it, because despite some uncomfortable themes, I can't say I regret reading it.

I read a truly, intensely, magnificently stupid book for a Halloween reading challenge, which nevertheless was one heck of a fun read. Sometimes the best entertainment is a book that might not be the sharpest spoon in the drawer, but takes itself endearingly seriously even when it veers into the ridiculous. Ladies and germs, behold: my review of Vincent Courtney's Vampire Beat. (Warning for language.)

Never mind that getting a kilo of Sue hair is impossible because it's naturally weightless so it doesn't give them neck problems; when's the last time anybody came to you with cat-girl anything? I say they're a dying breed and I'm cutting my own throat if I settle for anything less than two credits for three hairs. They're from her head, and they're at least two feet long. Think what you could do with those!

Whoops, I'll fix the typo shortly 😅. The "praised the reader-insert" is intentional repetition, and what happened next is indeed the saniwa's teleporting everyone.

I've come to adore the tone of your spin-off's narration. At first, it felt stilted, but by the end, I appreciated the contrast between the bizarre fic occurrences and the reserved, history textbook-style delivery of the information. Makes it feel even more like a mission report!
I was a little concerned about the master-servant power dynamic between the agents, but after reading through, I see that Kaguya doesn't treat Momoka as a lesser. I think they'll make a fine team! I do feel that Momoka got a lot more opportunity to show off her personality during the mission, though. Angry Mode is a funny gag, but we don't really get to know Kaguya too well if he spends most of the mission maddened by it. Hopefully we'll at least see more of him pre- and post-mission in the future?
A couple typos I must report:
In the prologue, we have
". . . the response center they were assigned was not as grim as she thought it was be."
should be would be.In the mission
" . . . appeared and praised the reader-insert, the saniwa ("Aruji is not a name!" Kaguya exclaimed) praised the reader-insert, the saniwa teleported everyone to the Citadel . . ."
The phrase, "praised the reader-insert, the saniwa" appears twice, and the second one doesn't sound quite sensible. I have a feeling this is a copy-paste mishap?—doctorlit eaties Wheaties while he readies

Reaaaaally bad Strawberry Shortcake fic [NSFB] by

Badfic report
Reply
- Bloodthirsty murderous Strawberry massacring Hallmark people with a katana because her show is losing popularity and in the end getting killed by an unknown red-haired girl. Also, Blueberry Muffin dies offscreen. This is a fic for a fluffy, lighthearted kids' show.
- Japanophobic rhetoric and claiming that the Strawberry Shortcake IP was sold to some Japanese company, which isn't true. Most of the show doesn't even have a Japanese dub, and the only series that does get a dub (Berry Bitty) has its dubbed version lost, with no excerpts found anywhere online and only 3 cast members known – Lynn as Blueberry Muffin, Saitō Konami as Lemon Meringue, Nakata Sanae in unknown role.
