The only reason I stepped up and did something was becuase no-one else seemed to be around, which is exactly what Neshomeh was talking about - there was a Permission request almost a week old which seemed to have been forgotten.
That, and because our wiki article says that there's no established way to pick new PGs, but sometimes they can be directly selected by other PGs, which I suppose is what I think Neshomeh was doing.
Either way, you were right to do this, and I'm not offended. (Actually, I'm relieved. I don't like doing things without validation.)

And likewise cast my vote for both Trojie and Sedri. I haven't been here excessively long, but in the time I've been around they've both shown themselves to be great sorts with plenty of knowledge and attention to detail.

I don't think I've been back long enough to vote for either of them. However, I did notice that Sedri is quick to reply to permission requests and offer concrit.

It's really not related to any particular canon. It's just incredibly bad squick and nearly everyone is an OC

Trojie may have kittens when she gets back from Dunedin and find she's been elevated to the hallowed position of PG, but she'll cope, don't worry.

...both Sedri and Trojie as well, but in the event that both or either of them do not want to accept it, I nominate IndeMaat.
I would also like to suggest that the rest of us step up more and also comment on newbie permission requests instead of just leaving it to the PGs. The more feedback, the better.

If it's game-verse, I'm up on that canon. If it's manga-based? Haven't read them.

Thanks for the raw, honest opinion.
As for the Haiti-related post, I was thinking about it, and thought the post //WAS// a little bit mean, and felt really bad about it. Sometimes I say/write things without thinking about it first, which is a bad habit I ned to work on.
And my agents, hm... well, I guess I still have to do more work on them. I was kind of in a rush to get them up, so, maybe I should add more details.
Also, my writing sample might have been a bad choice, but thanks for pointing out some flaws, I'll have to go back and fix those.
And finally... maybe I should have waited a bit longer to put up a request. (I do kinda want to go after that one fic, but I'm sure how it would work.) Maybe after a month or so, I'll try again.
Thanks again for your time.

I think this question was once asked years ago by

Could even be that I asked it, as around the time I had a bit of an ax to grind with someone who wrote PotC badfic that was half in Dutch and half in English.
Answer then was: yes, you can write in another language, but probably hardly anyone else on the Board will be able to read it.
So, that would be yes to both your opening questions. I think it would be easier if at least one of your agents is bilingual themselves. It is comparable to the fact agents rarely get thrown into fandoms of which they do not know the canon. Usually at least one of the agents knows the canon, so it would make sense if also one of the agents knew the language of the badfic. (Or the language the badfic pretends to be written in).

Vote for Sedri by

I think she's often one of the first people to respond to a permission request with some comments on agents or the text.
I have a feeling though, she thinks this PG thing is a heavier burden than it actually is. Perhaps she thinks she will not be critical enough and let some bad apples slip through. I don't think she has to worry about that. Bad apples rarely request for permission.

I concur. (Vote for PGs here) by

Actually I concur with both: the Board definitely needs more active PGs (I know I've been pretty much gone of late), but traditionally we've put the nominations to a general vote of the Board as a whole. So shall we do that now?
The current nominations for new Permission Givers are Sedri and Trojanhorse. Anyone can make new nominations, and everyone gets two votes (everyone on the Board, that is. We don't want the general public all trying to vote -- messy). If you make another nomination, it's best to put it in bold in your subject line -- makes it easier to spot.
And yes, people can turn down nominations. Sedri implied Trojie already did so, but I can't spot that, so I've kept her in.
Votes on this thread, please. Voting closes when we've got a clear consensus.

But while I do think you'd do a good job as a PG, you were only nominated to be one, not actually chosen, and I at least would feel more comfortable with this if at least two of the other PGs sanctioned/agreed/put forth the motion to the people who've been around longer than a month for a vote or whatever, especially between the fact that you don't specially want the duties and 'honors' that go with it, and that, again, it was only a nomination that was seconded instead of anything that was put forth for voting (despite Dann seconding it).
