Thanks for catching those. I'm still looking for a full-time beta reader. The fic I want to kill is from pokemon. I found it from the PPC wiki.

You won't know me, since I joined in late 2007, but so what? It's always good to see someone return and regale us with tales of years past... or just hang around and laugh. ;)
My gift to you is a Capillary Towel (new invention, very useful on bloody assassination missions) and a dog.
Nice to mee you!

...a few things. Firstly, your agents look pretty good - I like that OD claims to be immune to squick and isn't, which will make for some funny incidents, and I like that your droid agent will move stiffly when disguided as a non-mechanical race - those are good details to play upon. Not knowing what kind of droid an HK is (my first thought was the Hunter-Killers out of Terminator, but they don't seem to have any sentience I know of), I can't comment much there, but as long as his A.I. is sufficiently 'human' enough, that shouldn't be a problem.
My biggest concern is your writing technicalities. You've used numerals instead of words several times, both here and in your fic ("nearly 12 words", "world 1", "crew of 11"), and there are small glitches which jump out at me as I read (for instance, "He knew that no matter what he did, whether he destroyed four enemy fighters or was unceremoniously shot down himself, that the Marines would arrest the pirates." - the second "that" is superfluous), but those are fairly rare. What bothers me is that it looks like you've spelled your own agent's name wrong - is he meant to be "OrangDream" or "OrangeDream"?
Not knowing the fandom of the fic you want to kill, I can make no comment there, so I'm afraid you'll have to wait for a read Permission Giver's feedback for that. Overall, I think you'll do fine, as long as you watch your use of numerals and keep an eye on the balance of your agents.

Returning oldbie by

Hullo! I've been lurking for who knows how long, and I've decided that I should come out of hiding and participate in the fun.
I've been around since early 2004 and left around early 2007, so I don't think I'll know most of you. I remember hS, Neshomeh, and Techno-Dann. I dunno if any other oldbies are still around...
I suppose I'll go through the usual spiel... My fandoms are LotR, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Mercedes Lackey, Tamora Pierce (Circle of Magic), and Sherlock Holmes. I do have two agents. They've probably been frozen in time by someone who happened upon their RCs. :D They're Agent Valkyrie and Agent Kalmte. I think they were in Dept. of Floaters, but I'll have to check on that.
I haven't written any missions because I'm lazy like that, but I do enjoy reading them. I'm more of a MSTing type, anyways.
So, yeah, it's great to be back. I've missed the crazyness! :D

I expect it depends on how it's treated. Jay and Acacia ended up taking out one or two Mary Sues that were planning to die (permanently) of their own accord. The Mary Sue prototype specifically parodied in the A Trekkie's Tale did, too. So it can certainly be done badly enough to be a Mary Sue trait on its own.
It's not always such. A character like Riala Goldentail, from Vengeance Quest, is pretty much defined by her drive to achieve one specific goal, and her willingness to drop everything to achieve that goal. If she abandoned her post and got killed as a result, it'd be stupid, but it'd be stupid that fit exactly within her character and goals. And even if the story ended on that note, readers would expect her actions there to be criticized just as other mistakes she made were.
On the other hand, it's far more common for a Sue to end up with the entire cast pining over her for eternity and some opportunity for wangst.

I finally have an idea of what I want my agents to be:
Agent OrangDream will be me (ostensibly), a world 1 resident who (falsely) claims to be immune to squick. On his very first mission he gets more graphic squick than he bargained for. Though he prefers firearms, he has learned a small amount of martial arts from correspondence courses. He is also fluent in nearly 12 words of military jargon despite having never served in the military.
HK-50 will be..exactly what it says on the box. Being a droid will limit his disguise options; if he disguises as an organic he will still move stiffly. He will also need me to read the words for him and be ready to repair him if he is too damaged to move under his own power. He will basically behave like an HK50 droid, though the department has programmed the HK47's "meatbag" into his vocabulary. He will nt have to sleep and will enjoy killing but will not be immune to squick; his A.I. is too human for that.
Naturally, both agents will be in the department of Mary sues.
The fic I want to kill first is Rectified Anonymity, a Pokemon Fanfic
http://www.toplessrobot.com/2009/07/fanfictionfridaythepokemonstory.php
I'll have to do an exorcism on a canon character and kill 3 OCs before they kill themselves.
My fic is from the from the One Piece Fandom. Enjoy:

I'm thinking that if labs count as PPC stories, then they should require PPC Permission - and therefore fall under the same umbrella as missions, so to speak.
My opinion, not final law, but I think this should be a group consensus.

Are you saying that people would need to ask permission again before writing labs, or that you can't write them until you have general permission?

The thing about Sues dying of their own accord... by

is that, according to The Original Series, that means her 'legacy' will live on and continue to affect the canon, which means that she has to be killed before the death that she plans.
As for 'normal' Sues, there are many different types, and this one sounds just as Sueish as most others. Go ahead and kill her.

Actually, I was wondering if labs should need Permission by

As they are still working with agents and set in PPC, they're essentially a sort of non-mission story in text format. So I think that one should need Permission before writing labs too.

Very PPC-ish. Of course, I'm not sure when anyone would sing it. PPC doesn't have too many all-organization meetings.

I wonder... by

...does it need a set tune? Maybe it'd be like the Hogwarts school song. Every Agent and every Department is so different, maybe everyone just gives it the tune they like and sings it how it feels best to them.

Nor I. Is it that one that used to be on the Beeb with all the silly rubber alien heads? Or was that Farscape?
Anyroad, if he's any other fandoms he knows well enough, you might be able to lend a hand. (When sober; I do not advise hitting up the uber pit when we get back from the John's.)

You could always ask Ansela if she fancies having a look for you. She's marvellously good at finding the worst of the worst on the Uber Pit for me and Trojie, so we don't have to actually set foot there ourselves. I don't know if she knows the fandom you're after, mind. (I'd ask, but she just went back upstairs.)

Hm... there's one line that makes me think the creator of those Agents didn't have Permission -
'Once Permission is granted, they will set out on a Mission with the fic Anestel.'

Once you have Permission, you can write whatever you like. If you decide to branch out into different Agents and Departments, that's fine.

PPC Chatroom! by

The other day, I had dragged Vixenmage and Dreaming of Roses into a mini PPC chat of three over AIM. This was quite fun and resulted in moments of humor and there was agreement that with more Boarders it could be quite fun and insane and there was brief, brief mourning for the old chatroom which generally goes quite unused. (After that we became distracted at groaning at a hilarious badfic.)
In short, because of that, I propose a new chatroom over IRC!
IRC, if you do not know, stands for Internet Relay Chat. It is very simple (really).
IRC has the advantage over the old chatroom in that you do not drop if you idle too long, you usually can copy paste, and it even parses URL links so that you can click on them.
The channel (chatrom) is #PPC (the # is required) on sever irc.blizted.org. If you use Pidgin or Trillian, you can add the server and that channel on through your account options.
There are also a variety of downloadable clients such as mIRC, Icechat, and chatzilla, to name but a few.
You can also use Mibbit, click "Mibbit Webchat", click 'Server' next to the IRC drop down menu and enter "irc.blizted.org" for server address, your username/handle for Nick, and #PPC for the channel and then hit "Go".
Alternately, you have the option of clicking here instead if the above portion just confuses and or frightens you.
So let's see if this works. :)
