This one's my favourite at the moment. Nearly died laughing the first time I read it. Probably not work-safe, as it features a lot of gratuitous sex for comedy purposes:

I'm feeling unusually chatty lately...
Anyways, to counter my more serious topic, a fun and bubbly one! That's right, it's post your favorite fanfic time! Doesn't matter what fandom, post it up! Here's mine:
Fandom: X-Men: Evolution
Author: King of the Worthless
Title: Brotherhood Five: The Fugitive Nine
Link: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4190186/1/BrotherhoodFiveTheFugitiveNine
Even though it's located in the Pit, I think it's awesome. It's like a spin-off of Evolution, focusing on the Brotherhood instead of the X-Men. Plenty of action and humor, with a good plot and good grammar--whoda thunk?

I think that on the internet, we expect most people to be well-informed, relatively young, and open-minded. Instead, you continue to find sites like Free Republic and Stormfront. It can be appalling to think that these kinds of people even have access to the internet, let alone are able to publicly declare such ideals as white supremacy (shudder) and homegrown terrorism (UGGGHHH).

Yeah; this guy, however, was a rich white kid who had everything he could ever want and didn't vote not because he had anything against the system, or had issues with government--he just didn't care. As long as he had his video games, and porn, and crappy restaurant food, he cared about nothing else. It's one thing to care and not vote--it's entirely different to be an apathetic bumhole with tunnel vision and stunted social growth. It was like 1984...
Anyways, I vote because there is always someone I want in office. I'm okay with the voting system. Also, I always remind myself that, less than a hundred years ago, women couldn't vote. I better damn well get my ass to the local polls to honor the women who fought for suffrage (as a feminist, this is important to me.)

As one of the contributors to that page, I've learned that there's not much that badfic writers won't do to characters in the name of sex, and that if I'm going to take tips I should stick to the handful of writers I trust.

Oh, very much agreed. I'm a slasher through and through, but actually watching gay porn? Nah. I'd rather have a cuppa and watch EastEnders.
Certainly true that the fiction tends to be a bit idealised and what have you. Probably comes as a bit of a let down to anyone who's grown up reading it and then gets their leg over. No bluebirds, no rainbows, no passing out from pleasure. Although the no foot long wossnames probably comes as a relief.

You have a point. As I'm in a serious relationship, I really can't go out, find some pretty thing, and have one fun night together.
Plus, "real-life" "femslash" tends to be two dumb college girls just doing it for the attention. That kind of stuff irks me.
I honestly think that fictional femslash, het, or slash are more glorified and exciting than the real experience. If I can't be involved, I'd rather read a well-written love scene than watch some bimbos make out for everyone's entertainment.

I comes bearing links. *drags out Big Bag O' Links and digs through it* I know you has some of these already, since you mention the Wiki, but as I don't know which ones you've found...
First off is the link to the Wiki, a veritable fount of information for a newbie to read through. Especially helpful for you if you want to write missions would be the page on Permission (note the capital P).
I would advise against reading any Legendary Badfic, unless you are of strong mind and stomach. Even the summaries have been known to give those of weaker constitution nightmares.
For your reading pleasure, not knowing what you have already managed to find, I have several links for you. The Original Series (not to be confused with Star Trek) is a good place to start, as the PPC did many aeons ago. What do you mean I'm exaggerating? The Department of Geographical Aberrations is another interesting place to visit, if you have the time and inclination. Also by hS is the Tangled Webs site, which contains backstory for the PPC as an organisation. If you would rather visit the Floaters, then July's site is the place you need to be. And last, but most definitely not least, Response Centre 45 is where Trojie and Pads' missions are archived.
Hope you enjoy your stay here. Please deposit your sanity into the container offered to you by another Boarder; you won't be needing it here.

The PPC brings me back... by

*sigh*
Oh, I remember well the days when I would roam Neopets, seeking out bad RPs in the forums and killing off all the despies in creative and often covtroversial ways. My fellow "Annoyers" and I would have such fun--meeting in various headquarters, disguising ourselves...I even set up a school to train recruits.
It was magical...
I can't be sure if any of you know what I'm talking about, but the PPC reminds me so much of that experience; it fills me with nostalgia. Of course, the whole Annoyer era was short lived, as most of us became too violent and were kicked off.
Anyway, I stumbled across the PPC, read some Missions, laughed until my eyebrows fell off and I cried blood, and decided "I'm going to join this thing."
Unfortunately, the PPC Board constitution link is broken, but I read the summary on the PPC wiki.
Here's to hope! *raises glass of champagne to the forum*

I'm lean quite heavily towards slash, personally. It makes up the bulk of what I read and write on the internet. I see nothing wrong with het though, especially now that I've started looking at the het subtext in my main canon, as well as the slash.
My main reason for avoiding het fics is the fact that very few het pairings interest me, and it's pretty hard to find well-written fics for the ones that do. Plus the het shipping wars are pretty scary, especially for someone like me who can't pick a 'side' and stick with it.

So we can't interest you in Seamus/Dumbledore then? Well, darn.
I'm not hugely taken with femslash, but I think that's because, like het, I can go out and actually experience it if I so choose.

To me, it really doesn't matter as long as it's at least somewhat plausible of a pairing. (Snape and Dumbledore? No, not seeing it.) I think I lean toward het more just because I can just relate to it better. That or girl-on-girl, but people don't seem to write as many of those.

If I wanted het, dear, I'd fall off the celibacy wagon (again). Slash, however, I cannot have, and so must simply read instead.
Incidentally, you know Trojie and I are winding you up when we say we don't believe in het, right? Well, mostly winding you up at any rate.

Recently I've been noticing more and more slash fans that, at the very least, dislike fictional heterosexuality in all its forms. On the other hand I've also become more aware of the opposite attitude amongst het writers. Very few writers I've seen are actually willing to consider both het and slash as viable options. I know it's probably just me paying more attention, but it's an interesting phenomenon nonetheless.
Het fans of the PPC, how do you feel about slash? Slashers, what do you think of het? Is anyone here an equal fan of both het and slash? If you're firmly on one side, what puts you off reading the other, if there's a specific reason that you feel like sharing?

Aye, I know, it just came as a shock. Mind you, politics has a tendency to do that. If it helps explain my vehemence, the BNP are basically neo-Nazis - in other words, not a party I'm terribly happy about the existence of.
I confess I'm no expert on the European Parliament myself. But so far as I understand it, a parliament is a Good Thing, because it means we've elected representatives hashing things out, rather than committees and whatever agencies (forgive my lack of technical terminology) that aren't accountable to The People. They also, as mentioned, go for proportional representation, which is also a Good Thing, but does mean we get some characters with ... interesting views up there.
