Writing any long fanfic takes a great deal of time and effort, and OFUs have the added difficulty of involving multiple players and having a constant need for creative humour. I'm really not surprised.

I myself have been trying to find some way to contact him off the board/wiki, but don't know any information. Hopefully you two will find a way, I just thought I'd tell you that I've asked him already.

I've been planning the introduction of a fourth character, and I'd like to borrow Winston for that purpose (if only because he's going to be entering at somewhat high speed, and Winston, being a field Agent, would probably have better response time than most Staff in the same situation).
In fact, if you've got a Gmail, we could coordinate this on Gtalk.

Ginny would like a word with this Suethor, as would Scorpius' mother. And I get the distinct impression that both words are Latin first person active indicative singular forms of verbs.

Based off your response and Neshomeh's, I'm going to create the page under "Fireweed" for the sake of the joke, but note that it can also be called the Rosebay Willowherb.

Two of those divisions (A/V and Biotic Materials) were already there, as was the Armory notation. Though, Biotic Materials didn't have a fancy name before.
As for the bit about Dann, I recall asking him back when I was first plotting out my Agents (in particular Narcolepsy) about who was running the DoSAT since Makes-Things had died. He said it was probably him (as the character), due to a lack of other active named Agents/Technicians in the DoSAT (though the character has only had one mission written so far, hence why in-universe it's a little unclear why he got the position). Adam and Frenchie in A/V would probably hold the Most Senior title after Makes-Things, as their missions took place in 2003 HST.
Dann can either back me up on this or say I'm totally wrong, either one.

Huh. Does Dann know he got a huge promotion?
Or that there're that many divisions in his department?

Personally I'd go with calling it the rosebay willowherb, but then, I'm all in favour of esoteric botany jokes. Entirely up to you.

...it's just not very nice logic. From memory, it's something like 'the water, being a symbol of purity/something-or-other, will accept her if she's innocent and reject her if she's guilty' So if she floats, you can haul her out and burn her.

As for the giant bunnies, though, at least one of them is a giant minotaur, and I think I remember reading something about them being an artistic statement of opposites in harmony or some such thing. It's Art--we lay people aren't expected to understand. {; p

Question: New Flower by
on 2009-06-05 01:45:00 UTC

To the point: I've been trying to decide on a Flower to head a subdivision in the DoSAT, the Testing and Application Division. I had settled on fireweed, mostly for the sake of humor (considering it grows, as the name suggests, mostly in burnt areas). However, fireweed is known in Britain (and I know British English is our preferred mode) as rosebay willowherb, which is all well and good, but which also lessens the punch of the humor.
So which name would I be better off using?

The OFUM and HFA sequels seem to have died, but that's quite different from the originals dying, particularly since the original OFUM started the whole business.
But, yeah, most of the OFU spin-offs do die. I don't actually know of one other than HFA to have completed a story. It's quite sad.
