- Take a shot each time someone writes "noticing" as "knowdicing".
- Take a shot each time someone cries tears of blood.
- Take a shot each time a pony does something that would be anatomically impossible with hooves.
- Take a shot every time you think the phrase "What the hell was that?"
Any more suggestions?

Word to what Silvor had to say. That just about sums up the series of events that led to the mission I'm currently writing. Except add in some power trips and disproportionate vendettas...yeah.
I draw a distinction between being critical (that is, pointing out flaws in a story) and just flaming. Even if a piece is utterly gawdawful, I'm going to explain why it's gawdawful—politely—if I take the time to review it.
None of my reviews, even the most scathing, are intended as personal attacks on the stories' authors. If I say "gargoyles are not sexist, and Angela is as far as it gets from a spoiled brat," or "giving Arthas Menethil a bastard love child conflicts with continuity"...it means no more and no less than that.
But from the way some of these fanthings take it, you'd think that it meant "how dare you have fun?" Or even "die in a fire and take your time with it, you miserable beast!" And quite frankly, that's really their major malfunction. (If your self-esteem is really that fragile, maybe you shouldn't be putting your stories up on the intarwebz for all and sundry to read...)

Worldwar Series by

I was just wondering if anyone had a .rar of the series, or of any one of the books? Someone on 4chan mentioned it last night, which piqued my interest enough that I wound up on the Turtledove Wiki and spent all night reading.
Checked my Local Bookstore today, but they don't have any copies in stock. So I'm asking around on the 'Net.

At least, that's how I've always thought about it, Agents running random businesses and the like, and most of the funds going to Finance. I seem to remember it being implied somewhere that we have a hand in the real estate business, but I don't remember where that was.

Sue meets Doctor. Sue travels with Doctor. Sue turns out to be the Doctor's daughter. Your average cliches, nothing special.
Then Sue turns into Sailor Gallifrey.

Entire planets from continua such as Star Wars/Star Trek/ Doctor Who might well vanish through the plotholes. Also, aren't there thousands of Agents?

That, and there's all sorts of hordes and treasures throughout history that have been lost and never rediscovered. Personally, I like to think that we sent scuba-diving agents down to retrieve the riches of Glaurung's horde in Nargothrond after the Akallabeth, which provided the first major chunk of funding for the PPC.

Okay, this isn't related to your post, but since you're from the Finance Dept, I'll ask you the question currently nagging me: Who finances the PPC, anyway? All this technology, this infrastructure and those hundreds of agents must cost an awful lot...

An urgent warning for all PPCers!!! by

Members of this noble Board of the PPC, we must beware! The PPC is starting to lose its focus on traditional values! Or, well, not-so-traditional.
As all know, the true Golden Age of the PPC was not during the reign of the evil Mysterious Somebody, but in the days of the revered Jay and Acacia, when the LotR movies were being released. But now we are falling away from this noble heritage! We are reverting to darker times! Just think!
*In the unenlightened old days, before we humans joined, the Flowers used to destroy whole worlds to deal with Mary-Sues. Now the Pyro Department has weapons of terror with which they do the exact same thing!
*Once, portals were fixed in place, opening in "doors" next to the console. In some Response Centers now, we can see the exact same thing!
*Everyone knows about the DIS and their reign of terror. But have you not noticed more DIA Agents around HQ lately? Haven't there been more arrests? The exact same thing is happening!
I urge you, wise Boarders, be vigilant! Do not let these changes continue! They cost so-- no, ignore that. But on behalf of all right-thinking Agents, I plead with you -- do not let us slip further away from the golden days of six years ago!
~Agent Sambar, Department of Finance, on behalf of all proponents of Cycle Theory
(Author's note: No, of course I'm not serious. Change is a good thing. But poor Sambar isn't used to it, and after all, what the PPC really needs is another off-kilter conspiracy theorist, right? :P)

same with our dinosaurs by

The first was slash (technically, although the bestiality and paedophilia outweighed it). The second two are het. We justify it on the basis that 1) Agent Trojie is a dinosaur expert and can be counted on to get all the biological charges and 2) No other agent could be coerced into it.
