EVA! by

Yes, it's true. With less fanfare then one might expect after all the buildup, the original Neon Genesis Evangelion (and the excellent End of Evangelion movie, and the rubbish recap movie Death and Rebirth) has made it to Netflix. I've already seen then, but... EEEEEEEEE! First legal release in America in over a decade!
If you like anime, and can tolerate weirdness, depression, or that one scene in End of Evangelion that is definitely inappropriate for children, you should be watching Eva. Like, now. It's not just good, it's the Anime Lord of the Rings: the genre-defining classic that would forever change everything that came after.
For the record, the suggested way to see the show is to watch the entire series and then End of Evangelion, which takes place concurrently with the last two episodes. Skip Death and Rebirth. There's no reason to watch it if you've seen the show. I've heard rumors that Netflix's dub isn't up to scratch, but the "subtitles" option is right there, so I can't really complain. Probably better than the 90s dub either way...
The only real complaint I have about this release is that it seems Netflix couldn't license the original ending theme, an absolutely excellent rendition of Fly Me To The Moon. Not that the music they use instead is bad, but... well, it doesn't compare. Ah well.
Anyways, I'm just really really really excited. Mostly to see everyone's confused, horrified, and baffled reactions. That will be great.

I'd be happy to beta your interlude, but unfortunately I'm not finished reading through your archived stories, so I don't think I'd be able to provide much helpful feedback. I'm also having a bit of a busy week, so I likely won't be super active until Sunday. Thanks so much for the offer, though!

Huh, been a while since there's been anything Animorphs related. I wonder what kind of changes they'll make compared to the original books.

Beta Reader
Being a Beta Reader
Constructive Criticism
I think the first one answers your question, but just to be sure: usually, someone who needs a beta will post a request on the Board providing basic information about the story. If you're interested in beta-reading, you post a reply saying so and provide your email address. The author will then contact you with further details about what they're looking for from the beta process and, in most cases, an invitation to comment on the Google Doc where the story is located. (I don't think there's anyone here who doesn't work in Gdocs at this point.) You make all specific suggestions for improvement of SPaG and such in the doc, and possibly sum up with general impressions by email.
DON'T post beta feedback about unfinished stories to the Board. Reviewing finished stories on the Board is great and highly encouraged, though, and utilizes much the same skills!
Actually, if you're interested, I have an interlude cooling its heels in the beta pool at the moment (my other beta is a busy person). If you want to jump right in, I wouldn't mind you having a look, and I can help with any other questions you have about the process and the PPC. {= ) The story is about one of my most established characters, Supernumerary, but it happens to be based on one of the Permission prompts, "The agent(s) have to recover a lost [child, in this case] in their care." I don't think you'd need much, if any, prior knowledge of my spin-offs to follow it.
Either way, welcome!

Animorphs graphic novels are likely happening by

Per Michael Grant's Twitter "The Animorphs graphic novels are real. I've seen serious sketches. It's happening."
There's also apparently a movie pitch running around that isn't going anywhere.
K.A. Applegate and he aren't going to be writing said graphic novels, from what I can tell, but still.
This should be fun.
and a lot less kid-friendly that the books once all the dismemberments get drawn out.

I also think it might be a bit difficult to read, but part of that is that I'm not on much of a grimdark mood lately.
My big questions are of the Nazi strategy- what do they do now that they're in charge, and how do they cover it up? For example, the Nazis are mainly known for genocide/massive human rights violations, but that sort of thing is hard to do without breaking cover.
And if you talk about how a government could do all that evil stuff secretly, it'd be easy to either get too real or risk sounding like a tinfoil hat. However, I think if you were willing to take more of a turn into politics, it could work out really well, though it would take a lot of work.
This sort of idea could give you a window into exploring the more universally condemned forms of human evil by using Nazis as a sort of framing device. However, I don't know how you'd wrap that sort of story up satisfyingly.
Another big question- who are the big baddies? Would any of the Nazis from that time still be in the condition to rule? Otherwise, would it be weird to have unknowns representing the Nazis?
I hope I wasn't too rambly. Quite a cool idea!

Awesome! I hope I can be helpful! Is it generally preferred to post feedback on the document or some sort of private message, or is posting on the Board ok?

And if you're looking for some classic MSTs... by

... I have former PPCer Al's Waiter's MSTing website archived. Back In The Day, I think this was where I first encountered the concept.
For the historically curious, I also have the handful of MSTs of badfics sporked in TOS, here. One of them is by Acacia! (And if anyone manages to find traces of any of the 19(!) badfics which I don't have records of, I'd be over the moon to see them.)
