On a sadder note, it's also exactly one year since Stephen Hawking died. R.I.P. Stephen Hawking.

In honor of this holiday, I propose the knights of Plort all gather around a great round table and ...
[phone rings]
"Yes?"
"Too serious?"
"But historical fantasy is cool."
"Ok, yes, I know this is a generally comedic Board."
"Sure, we ca do that instead."
[hanging up beep]
[Pies begin to rain from the sky. One of them hits me in the face.]
"At least I got hit by a blueberry pie. I like those."

... but what the heck. I don’t know that I’ve been around enough recently for anyone to have any sense of, well, who I am, but sure, I’ll opt in for the lols. Short auburn hair, 5’6”, a bit chubby, 28, queer (approximately pansexual, but queer is preferred label), genderqueer (she/her and/or they/them), androgynous enough that strangers tend to be 50-50 split on reading me as male or female. Available to ship with anybody, regardless of gender or species.

There's this site called Pokemon Showdown... by

Here's the link if you want to look at it: https://pokemonshowdown.com/ basically on there you can create teams (it is also the tiers on there that the banlists are based on) and then you can challenge people on there to battles and the battles work out much the same as if you were playing Pokemon.

You’ve given the rules of engagement, if you will, but not the actual mechanics. I’m curious, but unclear as to how these battles actually play out.

Perhaps I’m a bit late to the discussion, but I hear you’d like an alliance with me. I’m afraid I can’t officially do that, as my people are absolutely craving lebensraum and you run the country next door. But perhaps we can make a deal in secret. I’m afraid that if I stick to my true ethical principles, rather than playing the part to the letter, I’m going to have a coup on my hands and maybe even a couple assassins. May I please take refuge in your country if that happens? S-sorry for the dictatorship... a-and the fascism... and the mass genocide... I swear that it was all to get more popularity with the desperate German people!

P.S. You’re an artist too! Can you critique some of my drawinfs so that I can try for art school again? I’d like to do better things with my life than cause death and destruction...

Sorry for two posts so close together, but they are unrelated. I remember reading a character analysis meta sort of thing a few years ago about Tony. It was pointing out how uses body language to fake confidence even in the early movies before he is showing overt signs for PTSD. Specifically, in how he would have been taught to never let his hands betray his nervousness, that if he thought they might to keep them busy. Such as by holding a glass of alcohol, which he does constantly.
I cannot find it now, and I was hoping someone else might have thought to actually bookmark it.

I decided that since I am working on what is intended to be a lengthy fic starting in Kalos, I think I will instead use the Protagonists expected late story team:
Kasumi (Greninja)
Kaylee (Vivillon)
Etna (Charizard) - Mega Stone
Jaws (Garchomp)
Haxor (Haxorous)
Riley (Lucario)
Substitute:
Speedy (Snorlax)

I've done the best I can, at least - I don't think the Board can implement any of the clacks overhead options (we don't have access to the HTML header), so I've had to just put it as a comment.

I've posted a few sets of Lancre residents on DeviantArt; only a few of them are actual book characters, but it's been fun to work on them.

Ah, I thought the Communism thing might be a sticking point. Thing is, I can’t really abandon my country’s idealogy just like that. I’ll need to consider how to frame it and how much I’m prepared to compromise.
I would certainly be prepared to consider the idea of a marriage, although obviously I’d have to wait until details are confirmed to make my final decision. As for my alliance with Twistey, I’m only lying because I know she is. If I thought there was a reasonable chance of her honouring the alliance, I would too.

"Henceforth, we shall say not that the Greeks fought like heroes, but that heroes fought like the Greeks."
-Winston Churchill
Greece was one of the first nations to stand against the Axis, and they defeated Mussolini's forces before Hitler provided troops. The remnant of the Greek army fought a guerilla war until they were freed by the allies in 1944.
