Welcome to the PPC! I hope you have fun here!
I’d very much like to read the stories you mentioned. Also, it’s always nice when more fandoms are represented in the PPC.
Welcome, fans of the Protectors of the Plot Continuum and supporters of the Canon Protection Initiative! If you've got a story to plug, an opinion to share, or a discussion you want to join in, this is the place!
If you're looking for PPC stories to read, why not start with The Original Series – the missions of the famous assassins Jay and Acacia, the very first stories in PPC history. Once you've finished them, check out the list of Killed Badfic to find a mission you like the look of, or The Complete List of PPC Fiction to look up specific agents or departments.
Before you join the fun, there are some important links you should know about. Being familiar with these will save you a lot of hassle!
This list is also available as a Atom/RSS feed

Glad you found your way to us. Here’s some popcorn to eat while you read the Original Series (or throw at particularly irritating characters, whichever) and a box of cat-shaped sticky notes!
Hi, I'm Alyx, author of the Omegaverse stories (they may be badfics, though I'm not sure - will plug them later if anyone wants to do a mission on them) and am friends with a semi-famous author on Wattpad, Gore_Jus, who is the creator of the Emethyst's Journey series (which is VERY much a goodfic, 9/10 would recommend despite very infrequent grammatical errors.) I am a huge fan of Dragon Ball, Madoka Magica (something I'm afraid is hardly touched on in the PPC AFAIK, despite the high potential for Suvian characters due to the concept of Incubators granting wishes - something that is all too easy to play horribly if you don't give characters their downfall as the Faustian-style contract demands), Crusader Kings (not much fanfic here, but AARs could count, I guess), Ace Attorney, Undertale (oh dear gods, how many badfics does this fandom have?), and Helltaker (fortunately, it's a fairly new fandom, so there isn't much to cover.)
I'm also a Christorian, and while there isn't much positivity to it, there might be a chuckle or two had at the comic characters' expense (at least when they aren't doing NSFB stuff. Sonichu is hilariously bad, but it's naturally NSFB.)
EDIT: Adding links to the fics I mentioned: Omegaverse fanfic: https://www.wattpad.com/story/237992311-omegaverse-the-infinite-realm
Emethyst's Journey, Part 1:https://www.wattpad.com/story/204925347-pok%C3%A9mon-sun-moon-emethyst%27s-journey
Emethyst's Journey, Part 2: https://www.wattpad.com/story/225614558-pok%C3%A9mon-sun-moon-emethyst%27s-journey-continues
There's a crossover of the two planned, but she's been severely off-schedule.

Although I'm not sure anyone's been reading this. (Not guilt-tripping anyone, I realize we're busy people - myself included, now that I have a job -, but if anyone has been reading Bone Ballad, I'd really be grateful for some feedback.)
Content warnings are at the beginning of the chapter, as well as in my earlier posts in this thread. I've officially moved the story to Blogspot (and Wattpad, but you can only view it there if you're registered, so I don't see a point in posting it here.)
Like, we have a Buzzfeed now! That's cool. And a bunch of Time Lords who mostly bicker. And there's the adventures of the janitorial department. Sometimes also everyone is gods. A lot of the Classic Era agents have retired or have kids now. Hell, some of the New Era agents have kids now! There's a German-accented pufferfish playing a sousaphone and everyone just kinda goes with it! My point is, the PPC was always a weird, weird place, but now there's a lot more of it -- and therefore, a lot less chance of your man Raj being discovered. Honestly he'd probably get given what he wanted, as long as it was man-portable. In exchange for something, obviously. Like, I dunno, booze or tech or... well, it's DoSAT, half a packet of wine gums and some belly button fluff'd probably work. =]
I mean, we of all people can hardly get snippy about people writing fanfic of our stuff...! From an Official Permission perspective, it wouldn't necessarily be canon to the PPC (because it's fanfic), but we'd probably adopt it as Really Happening, because we're like that. ;)
PPC HQ has... some sort of shields to prevent incursions, I can't remember what exactly. But they're not exactly reliable, and there's exterior doors anyway, so Raj could just walk in if he wanted. (They've got a hidden city down near New Zealand if you want a specific way in.) Most weapons would be in the Armoury, or maybe in DoSAT - that's the technology department. Or you could just sneak into any random Response Centre and probably find a Suvian weapon kept as a trophy.
I think we're pretty low on omniscient/omnipotent characters. The Flowers who are in charge are telepaths, so that might be a concern. There's a powerful AI in the networks, but even if it spotted Raj it wouldn't say anything. The only people who might count as omnipotent enough are these three, who are, uh, goddesses. They're not around much though. (I can add more detail if you want to cameo one of them.)
As to the formerly-quarantined question: it would probably mean that if an agent pointed an Analysis Device ("CAD") at Raj, it wouldn't be able to identify his continuum. But those things break all the time anyway...!

(The PPC will always be around. ^_~)
Hi, I'm a writer from a completely different writing collective (a Riverdale-based one where everyone has superpowers) and I only signed up to ask a few questions relating to a character in my verse's powers. My character is a 'Riverdale' version of Raj Patel from the 2000s Archie Comics. That's not the relevant part. The relevant part is that one of his two powers is that he can hop between any canon possible, even going into 'quarantined' canons and canons that 'require permission' to enter. He often goes into fanfiction canons stealing Sue and Stu weapons to help him in his travels, and occasionally weapons from goodfics if they are powerful enough. Could he logically go into the PPC canon to take a weapon from there, because his other power is complete indetectability from anyone who isn't omnipotent? Do I require permission to do this? And would they be caught off-guard because Raj is from a formerly quarantined canon, aka Riverdale? Thanks in advance - Ferrethead Edit for extra clarification: Mostly, the intention of this short scene is an 'Only 90s kids remember'-style scene, as it is only meant to be a few paragraphs long, and it's just a "Remember the PPC?"-style thing (I'm astounded it's still a thing, I remember it from my childhood!) but I do understand if you are uncomfortable with any meta intrusions
I have (partly due to osmosis from Cal) fallen a new rabbit hole lately - crochet! (between that and "aaaa grad school" I haven't been around as much)
Who else here does crochet, knitting, or other yarn stuff? What've you been working on/what're you most proud of?
(For my part, I made a dice bag, some coasters, and two scarves for my grandparents (I'm currently working on the third)

As usual, in both Wordpress and Tumblr flavours.
Also, since I had originally tackled it to a post that was already down the Board, I'll put this here for those who might not have noticed: we have our handy guide about WWA aircraft for those who find themselves lost in the huge amount of designations I use!
To be honest, I lost my train of thought and sort of gave up about halfway in. If you've got more to add, I'd read it. {= )

Back in 2017, Scapegrace gave us all a Christmas present by announcing her publication of Anomalies: Short Stories. I'm not sure it remains available.
Talia Lavin, formerly of this parish, has a book coming out this month in eight days: Culture Warlords, an exposé of white supremacy on the Internet. Quite how she found time between posing with swords on Twitter I'm not sure (not an uncommon pasttime for PPCers).
For reference, Shakespeare wrote "approximately 39" plays; if we count the six books Natelson has filed under Older Books, the PPC is up to 24. So GeniusGamer, it's only a matter of time!
hS
Soon, there will be more books sold authored by us than William Shakespeare. We will have our own Wikipedia page, and lots of notability. Every person in the world will recognize the Protectors of the Plot Continuum. We will be the Illuminati of literature.
Continues to ramble about the amount of control over the world the PPC will exert
But Butzen and Natelson are the only ones I know of.
(On that site, that is. We know Okay, I was going to just throw a few others out, but at this point, might as well list them all. And I'm not closing that parenthesis, either! Bear in mind I'm only sharing their PPC screen name if they published under it, or if they came to plug it here and revealed their real life name as a result. So:
Kippur plugged The Tropes of Fantasy Fiction here on the Board years back.
Under her screenname, Makari published—holy cow, I didn't know the whole trilogy was out already! Need to get the other two . . . (Don't know who the co-writer is, honestly.)
Kitty Eden contributed multiple short Doctor Who fics to the anthology 101 Claras to See, which was a limited-run charity event and may not be available any more . . .
Lee Comyn is one of ours, and contributed the short story "Matching Vectors" to the M/M sports anthology Make a Play.
Jake Nelson is also a Boarder, and contributed writing for part of the quickstart guide for the tabletop RPG Relics: a Game of Angels, as well as the entirety of the Las Vegas expansion. Both are available here.
Just a month or two ago, FourMoonsWathcing published her own RPG, Swan Song.
Aaand not actually a Boarder, but the author of one of the older OFUs published The Serpent and the Peacock.
So yeah! The PPC is making a mark on the published world, no denying it! Even if the vast majority of these were published after the Boarder left . . .
—doctorlit stayed up to late assembling these links
I heard this would be coming down the pipeline at some point. I'm pleased it's here. ^_^
IIRC, Deborah Natelson (another author on that list) is also a former PPCer, right?
Actually, reading the other book summaries, there's something a tad PPCish about the whole line-up. And the company's emphasis on copy-editing and proofreading... and the nod to the Inklings... I wonder...
Nah, couldn't be. It couldn't be a publishing house entirely run by the PPC. Could it? O.o

In case anyone happens to be interested. Content warnings are at the beginning of the chapter, but the whole chapter (and most of the story proper) is also NSF4M.
Edit: I've attempted to move the story to Blogspot but I got into a long and messy fight with the post formatting options, so for now the story is staying on Tumblr. Edit 2, much later: Welp, Blogspot it is.

So there's a book coming out tomorrow that I therefore haven't read yet, but I'm plugging it anyway?
(Link mentions suicide, but not really because he gets better.) Painter of the Dead is a paranormal romance mystery set in a history museum, with Egyptology and mummies and curses! And . . . canopic jars? Maybe? (I think a link is going to pop up under the description once it becomes available. If not, I'll find a link and edit it in tomorrow.)
Oh, and the author has requested that, if we ever find typos in this universe, they become mini-clay golems. Because the main reason I'm plugging her work is that she's a former Boarder. : )
—doctorlit, supporting our fellows!
In Ellis's own words from the time, "I hope this [being transphobic on main] is worth all the bridges you're burning, Jill".
I was planning on this huge book answer about the intricacies of pregnancy and the development of babies in various mammals. I’m probably on several watchlists after looking up stuff like “emotional status of pregnant women” and “how weak are newborn babies,” but it’s worth it anyway. I’m an overthinking, science-minded person and proud of it.
But yeah, your answer is good enough.
