Honestly, it's directed at multiple people, all who should know who they are. The entirety of the post itself, though, is directed at the entire PPC.

If someone tells me a story is crap and explains why in great detail and accuracy, like civilized people who do not resort to instant flaming, then I'll listen. This doesn't just apply to SPaG; if a character turns out to be flat and badly written, I'll either have it burned or reformed as soon as possible. When and if I decide to actively join the fight against badfic, anyone should feel free to tear mission drafts to shreds if needed.

Not really how he did it, at least, which was toss that in without asking people.
Bringing it up beforehand and asking people would've made it better.

Might be because I only joined late last year, but I don't recognize that username. Anyway, have a welcome-back shapeshifting plushie. If you like Eldritch Abominations and the like, it can turn into a long list of High Octane Nightmare Fuel, including cute stuffed Cthulhu. If you aren't into that sort of thing, however, it will refrain from transforming into Lovecraftian horrors.

Elves, Hobbits, & Mary-Sues, Oh My Rather liked this one, despite it being a Mary Sue Girl-falls-into-ME Legomance. Also proves even more that, as Trojie and Pads stated, there is no such thing as a bad genre. Bast herself liked the fic, as shown in her reviews and her old FFN account's favorites list. I found it through there, and was not disappointed.
There's a most likely not dead sequel here. Seems the author is determined to prove that almost every single one of the PPC's most kill-worthy offenses can be written well, as this is a HP/LoTR crossover that doesn't have my blood boiling. I'm beginning to wonder if she'll try turning the Prophesied Hero OC or Woeful Angsty Past plot points into something readable next.

"Everything has a fandom." ...Unfortunately. To justify my opinion, I present most Real People Fic and the Bible category. The latter section of the Pit has had a fic sent to the DoWTF, which says a lot.
And if anyone can find me an excellent, decently long Romance of the Three Kingdoms fic, Dynasty Warriors canon or not, I'll eat Sky Piercer.

In that case, here are some sites to save. by

These are just the ones I have in my Bookmarks. I post them here because I know I don't have the stick-to-it to save them all myself, but I'd hate for the content to be lost forever.
The Department of Cool and Unusual Punishment - Twiggy
The Department of Improbabilities - Kippur
RC #44 - Artemis
RC #444 - Gundam Kiwi
RC #2771A - Tungsten Monk
Special Interdepartmental Elven Languages Unit (SIELU) - Lambda/Hellga
The JAAKSONS - Rosie and Nenya (Same site as the Handbook, incidentally.)
They're all high-priority, but I'd put Tungsten Monk, SIELU, and the JAAKSONS at the top.
~Neshomeh, who has relied on the JAAKSONS' third story heavily for FicPsych and will probably back that one up herself.

I haven't had as much of a chance to beta as most of you, but I do try to give as much concrit as I can when I do have the chance. Have a tendency to be very blunt about it, though, which might alienate people, and in the PPC it's really not my place to offer criticism to any of you I think. Besides, like anyone would listen to my ilk? :P
Seriously though, I completely agree, especially with the desire for concrit. I'm always specifically asking for it in my plugs, not just from betas but from everyone who reads them (which is probably nobody outside of my betas, actually :P) because I'm always looking for criticism that can help me write better, especially since I want people to actually enjoy my spinoff (spinoffs? Does it count as multiple if you have multiple Agent pairs doing missions?).
It gets frustrating, because so few people ever even try and it seems like nobody actually cares enough to offer any (if, as said, anyone even read it. :P), but I'm always willing to hear people out, and do tend to try to go back through a mission to fix details where needed. So, yeah, it's pretty much an open call for all concrit from anyone who has any to offer. SPaG itself shouldn't be the only thing addressed. I know I should probably stop crawling out from the woodwork like this, but I thought I should make my opinion known, especially since the lack of offered concrit has always frustrated me. Forgive me for not being as eloquent about it as hS or Neshomeh, but that's where I stand.

On the condition that you quit describing things as their trope names. Similes and metaphors are much more fun.
Also, I'd rather you didn't say they're recruits from badfic unless they're actual recruits from actual badfic. They're allowed to be from a story you wrote ages and ages ago, given a new life and purpose in the PPC. As to how they got to HQ, that's what random plotholes are good for. And HQ is made of the things. {= )

I have seen a stuffed Dracula, some unspecified unusually huggable tentacled horror, and an Eye of Sauron plush...
There's also been a chibi Lu Bu, complete with his halberd Sky Piercer and his prized horse, Red Hare. That's actually quite scary to certain people, namely every ordinary soldier in the Three Kingdoms era up until his death by strangulation and post-mortem beheading.

I don't care what July says. I found you, I brought you
homea'Board, and I'm keeping you. {; p
My Tolkien Companion, which my wonderful fiance found for me, defines lembas as follows:
The Sindarin name for a kind of travellers' food or "way-bread," baked by the Elves of Lothlorien. It resembled cram (the waybread of the Men of Dale) in purpose but not in effect, being quite delicious and greatly sustaining, the more so if it was not mingled with other foods. It consisted of light-golden meal-cakes which kept fresh for many days if left in their mallorn-leaf wrappings. (J.E.A. Tyler, 260)
I realize that this probably raises more questions, but I'm okay with this. ^_^

The world would be pretty boring if we all found ourselves in constant agreement, after all. I do see your point and I think part of it is my tendency to lump fanfiction in the same category as original fiction, in terms of my expectations for it. If that makes any sense, which it possibly doesn’t (I’m not terribly awake right now). Naturally, it's absolutely your right to write however you would like to.
I suppose what I was trying to say is that a good majority of what seems to be happening recently consists of in-jokes which are unintelligible to outsiders, or, for that matter, anybody who hasn't followed each "emergency" or recalls every detail of what's been happening in PPC history.
I do understand what you're saying though :)
