I mean, we've already got Uber Pit of Voles for Adult Fan Fiction, which makes sense because it also has fan fiction in the name.

And then there's the Circle of Lemmings, a.k.a. Quotev.

Seems to me Wattpad should be another squeaky thing. Marmots, perhaps? Gerbils? Jirds? I just learned "jird" is a word. I vote for that one because it sounds funny. ^_^

I don't read smutfic at all and never plan to (I'm just not interested in it in the slightest haha), so I'll take your word for it. I'm sorry it's all so trashy.

AO3 is the most popular pure-fanfic repository that allows for sexually explicit content. As a result, it is the first port of call for a lot of smut writers. As in, according to the tagging system, just over 1 in 10 fics on AO3 contains sexual content. This wouldn't be a problem if not for the fact that the vast majority of that stuff is awful.


And combine this with the commonness of bad slash my documented hatred of Yaoi tropes, and burning-with-the-force-of-a-thousand-sons hatred of ABO (less common but pretty much everything I hate in one convenient package)... yeah.

I feel as though I may regret asking this, but what's your beef with AO3?

Real talk I'm probably going to end up bringing in agents soon. I have no shortage of old OCs who could be brought in from their old worlds to viciously tear into others', haha.

And as it happens, I am an animation major in my senior year of college. Schoolwork will always come first, but animation is in fact a thing that I know how to do! (Mostly 2D right now but I'm planning on going into more 3D stuff this coming year.)

It's so wonderful to see so many new faces here! New faces, new ideas, even some returning faces! Ahh! Anyway, I'm Twistey. I've been on this Board for 1 year now, and I come up with a lot of ideas. I'm good at judging short things like bios and general overviews, so if you have any agent ideas, I'd love to see them!

So, what do you intend to do here? What type of badfic do you want to spork, and using what methods? Again, any agent ideas? I'm also especially looking for people who would be willing to create animated missions with which to spork badfics in video format, fangames with which to spork badfics in fangame format, and/or mods with which to spork badfics in mod format, so if you do programming or animation, let me know.

Anyway, as for your newbie gift, here's that talking bass fish that you can put on your wall, as well as a kit to hack it with anything you wish. If you wish to give this virtual gift to your agents, they could hook it up to the console (resulting in a beeping fish), or if you want it, you could put Amazon Alexa in it. Just humor.

I have no authority. But I do like talking nicknames. And insulting AO3. My favorite diminutive nicknames for AO3 are The Relatively Shallow Hole Full Of Wolves, or, more succinctly, ABO3. But I think that has more to do with my... personal grievances.

Wattpad is a site for all kinds of writing, kind of like the Pit. Also like the Pit, it houses a wide variety of fanfic, and by extension, a wide variety of badfic. It's basically the Pit with original!fic, art books, books being used as blogs, and lots of stuff that doesn't count as writing.

With the general consensus of enough Boarders, this site shall be known as the Other Pit of Voles, or the Other Pit for short.

While we're on the subject, I have a question: Where does the "Voles" in "Pit of Voles" come from? Does it come from "plotholes?"

My agent will be a cartoonish representation of me, but with a stand (don't question it). I'm mainly planning on sporking badslash fics, so I guess he'll be an exorcist. I can show you what I have in mind once I get permission to start sporking, so please be a patient pickle until then.

My reasoning for saying badfic was that to be bad*fic*, it has to be both bad, which it is, and *fan*fic. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

As for being a Suethor, I never published it but I have a fifty-page Warriors fic filled with ridiculously overdone angst. So there’s nothing to worry about!

Tbh, I think the problem here isn't "is it badfic or not", but rather, "is it *fan*fic or not".

I don't believe it really counts as a fanfic, no, but that's only because it was actually published by someone (namely, PETA themselves). If it were a fangame, then yes, I would consider it a fanfic (the same as I personally consider mods and hackroms still set in the original universe of the game in question to be fanfic), but... having actual money behind it is what blurs the lines for me.

Were it a fangame, though, Bad Parody would definitely be all over Black and Blue.

How about a Ascended agent from Rift (when angry, she grows taller), or an Eternal Guardian from Eden Eternal(she tends to whip out a sickleshot, or whatever weapon is handy, like a guitar)

Yeah, but it's crappy to me (having Asperger's results in long expospeak) Mirai Kings is pretty long (10-13k) Alesha Style Applejack is mainly poetry. However it's worth a read~
