Since we have a national anthem for the Union of Plort (“See Now, Konti-Nyuum"), it seemed appropriate to write one for Ozerbord as well. It’s quite an unusual anthem, in that it’s actually two songs… sort of.

The population of Ozerbord varies dramatically. For most of the year, it is very low, but during the Games of Batveg, and other games and festivities across the year, it swells to ten or a hundred times its normal size.

During the low-population times of the year, Ozerbord’s anthem Oh Ozerbord - originally penned, no doubt, by Baron BeautyID - goes like this:

Oh lonely land
Oh quiet streets
Oh mighty Wattufs
Oh Ozerbord, we sing to thee

It is slow, with the final syllable of every line except the last being drawn out extensively. This is because those final syllables take the place of the second halves of the lines, which are sung only during festivals. They are sung much faster - think of the split in the opening lines of Jerusalem. The above is similar to ‘And did those feet…. in ancient times...’; the second halves are more in the style of ‘... walk upon England’s mountains green?’.

Oh lonely land - ring with a thousand voices clear!
Oh quiet streets - be filled with faces new and friends so dear!
Oh mighty Wattufs - we scale your heights and gaze on distant sea!
Oh Ozerbord - with a thousand tongues we sing to thee!
