[[Disclaimer: Baron Dann is not me. He's distressingly like me, in that he tends to show up late to a good debate.]]

On Makari: The continuing absence of Baron Makari has been a subject of many lamentations in the fair land of Iric. We believe that the dissolution of her barony at this point would be premature - many of our greatest knights have been abroad for longer, and yet returned safely to us. We would be willing to accept a guardianship of the barony, or the grant of such guardianship to Baron Vixenmage, until Baron Makari's eventual return.

We do not believe that the partition of the western highlands would be an acceptable compromise. These lands have been part of Iric and Chaett before it for generations, reaching back to the very Founding. Further, Baron Huinesoron has also proposed that tremendous regions of Borrd should be given to Baron Cassie's care, including the city of Borrd itself. We are reluctant to cede additional territory to a baron who already stands to gain such significant holdings.

On Iric: We find it deeply disturbing that Baron Huinesoron is advocating for nothing less than the occupation of Iric and the seizure of our primary trade route. If Council money is to be spent on the matter, we suggest that it be spent on the creation of detailed charts of the waters between Tumblar and Borrd (to be carried out by the skilled sailors and knight-captains of La Wunj, of course). That and improvements on the Pankae Road would cost less than rebuilding and garrisoning the ruin of Pankae, and the increased trade volumes between Iric and Borrd would provide a revenue source, rather than the great expense of maintaining a garrison.

And truly, the divide is not that great. While our person makes the journey only infrequently, our brave Knights, the Book Repairman, Karrin the Blue, and many others make the voyage regularly. Trade flows freely, and our armies stand in the fields against Marizu shoulder-to-shoulder.

On Araeph: The territorial discussions in western Konti-Nyuum are founded in ancient disputes, we have no desire to intrude there. On the eastern edges of Araeph's holdings, we would welcome a single holder of the Larninkurv Mountains - preferably one with the will and geographical skill to create a land route from Tumblar to Borrd.
